What was the impetus for altering the plans to the point in which we would not be in the Matoran Universe?2) How long has Mata Nui's physical form been known to the story team? 3) In terms of physical size, are the Glatorian about the same height as the Toa? 1) The impetus was the feeling that the "wake Mata Nui" had 1) dragged on so long and 2) gotten so complex that it had become almost impossible for new fans to walk in and figure out what was going on -- a potential barrier to them getting into the franchise. So it was decided to wrap up this chapter and start a new one. 2) Since 2000. Mata Nui's appearance and nature was specified in the original story bible. 3) I can't discuss this Damn. It's been in the works since 2000? Awesome.

I think it may have been the perspective that made him look so blocky. He looks like a kid's amateur art project is what he looks like. The joints are so annoyingly "toy" looking... just cornball hinges.

Well, the beginning of chapter 9 where Tahu and Gali get all nice and such was originally half of chapter 8. I surprised the dip of an editor (I mean seriously, how many typos does he miss!!!!) even picked up on that kissing scene... BTW Does anyone have the new guide?? And as to the topic of bionicle yoai, I think there was a pic in one of the recent that heavily suggested a yuri pairing with Gali and Gorast, so yoai bionicle pairings might not be out of the question. The pose, the angle, even some parts of the robot look quite similar. But mostly they are connected because: a) they are both very massive; b) view angle. I never saw any noticeable gap (indeed, I didn't even realize there was no Chapter 8 until it was pointed out here.) That, and the book is 124 pages, which is standard length for these; another chapter would easily have put it over the word limit (which is another thing Greg has to deal with when conveying all this story).
