Ok, I'm alittle confused. When are these sets coming out? It should be this late winter, right? Don't we typically have much worse pics of the late winter sets?

Indeed. These images are expected for more around October than August.

But hey, Lego's internal security is total dog poo.

EVERY time there's a new wave, we ALWAYS get leaked pics.

They just can't seem to get their stuff together, can they?

Why, isn't it just SAD how often things are leaked online?

Why, if it's not releasing WHOOPS! catalogs to buyers too soon, then it's WHOOPS! uploading the images to their own website for the public to see!

...Of course, I think the above is false. I think this is no more a "mistake" than it ever is.

It's called "viral marketing"... running an ad campaign while saying you're not.

And think about it, if I'm wrong... then wow, Lego is a billlion dollar business that has security leaks of their products EVERY year.

If anything, the person in charge of "leaking" the shitty images ducked up and released the good ones instead.

And how do you know this? We have some pictures and names, how are you inferring who's good and who's evil? For all we know, Mata Nui could be a pain in the butt - has he had any dialogue? I want a cookie for every person who makes an assumption about 2009 and is wrong - I intend on bulking up next year.

Oh Man...

These are all so... different looking. Like more biomechanical or something. This looks like it could turn out quite well. There are just so many different kinds of parts in a wide variety of colors. And... HANDS? Wow. I'd like to my hands on some of those.

BTW, are there any clear pics of that big green guy in the corner? Just curious.

Strakk reminds me of the Abominable Snowmen in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

He has a Mata foot on his back. Seems adequate.

I don't think any of these are 'bad' in the typical sense, I think they could bad-megablocks but not as in evil-bad. Their all Gladiators and they fighting each other not out of evil but out of ... something else, maybe one of two could be bad (Ice guy) but I don't think most are evil-bad.

But how much do you know about the story to actually tell if they're Matoran and Toa or not? Nothing. Ok, we're getting Mata Nui in summer so they most likely aren't Toa. Either way, I used Matoran just for convention, and I never called the humanoid canister guys Toa, I said Toa like. It's very much different. And I agree MN should be tan, after all, isn't he colossus made of rock?You are right. I think that the main reason everybody compares these to the KK hands simply is that they are the closest thing to the new Bionicle hands Lego produced. Basically, the two are the sole pieces that look like proper human fists, so a comparison between them made by the fandom is inevitable.I really doubt that 2009 sets are going to drop this formula. Greg once said that the idea to release villains and heroes at once came from the toy sellers. These three guys look like some pretty convincing heroes if you ask me. Come on, don't tell me that you forgot Kongu Inika..one of the most evil and psycho looking Bionicle sets ever produced by Lego.

Just so long isn't white or red... any other color I'll be fine with. I'd also love it if he had a mask that resembled the Amaja Pit stone... that would be friggin awesome. =D

in this picture, skirmix has dark red fenrakk skull, but in small box picture, it's silver. I really would like it red.. what do you think?

I think that's a prototype on the box... note the lime/black jaw and the silver skull-claw.

The 2009 sets look really good. The problem is that the new pieces are only a few.

My favourite Gladiatoran is Strakk did you get it?

His mask seems very unique.

No, that's red. I asked Greg a couple months ago about Purple and he said there were no plans for it, but he'd put in a word for us. =D

Should disprove the 2009 characters = huge theory.

And you're welcome, Pencoin. Though you're not the only one with that 2008 ending theory... it's pretty easy to arrive at.

Oh, thanks Bunda, forgot Gresh...and now I remember all the canisters! The titans re easy, since Tuma's funny, and the other Fro and Skirmix has some obvious roots.

The Small ones... *Does not peek* Atakus, Metus, Raanu, The Green guy with a T- , Blue guy with a B, and Zesk.

Yea, the ones I forgot aren't that awesome...except for that Tahu Mata Sword in Blue.

Atakus and Metus look really promising.

Eh, I like his pieces and mask. The design itself is a mess though.

And I just tried to translate some of the summer names from Latin: Vastus means Ravaged. An odd name for a good guy... assuming it is a good guy. It doesn't seem like he'd be bad though, as he's a main character in one of the early readers. I dunno.

Gelu means frost so that's obvious enough. : P

At least that rules out the possibility of Mata Nui being white. ^_^

I thought the same at first, but notice: One, all of the spikes are curved exactly the same. Two, look closely at the top right spike on the spore that's being fired from Strakk's launcher. There's a slight gap between the spike and the orb, as if they're separate parts.

But this probably means they'll only come with one spore apiece, as they'll take so many parts to make. =/

All in all though, I think it'll be worth it. =D

That doesn't seem like it would make an interesting story... and Greg said 2009 was one of his favorite years. Dunno though. He might be able to pull it off and make it awesome. He'd still have to choose a guy with better morals to center the story around, though. I would guess the blue guy, as he looks the most noble, and I think Greg said the story wouldn't focus on a red or white guy next year. Dunno.

While I wouldn't mind that, it doesn't seem likely for a younger kids line. =/
