The Alchemyst Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Which just makes the Sand Tribe more awesome. I mean seriously: Sand? Scorpions? Mutations? Tan? Recolors? An army of them? It's hard to beat that. Heck, it's hard to beat Sand as an element. It's just so awesome. -Kills you over an oasis with Sand- And they're on a desert! They live in their element! [-The Alchemyst-]
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 And they're nomads! I want to see a Vorox with a turban-y thing!
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Lolz - Vorox riding on Camels. I wonder if Zesk are like little rahi for the Vorox - that would be cool.
Bundalings Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I can't help but notice your use of the word 'the.' Does this mean that the winter canister sets are species/tribal types rather than individual characters? Or am I off the mark?Skrall, Vorox and Zesk are representatives of larger species, of which there are multiple members. The other sets are all individual characters, not part of multiples. Found in the OGD ~Bunda
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Rule 34 plz.Crossdressing Skrall making out. What? I'd nev... *bong!* <__< >__> God damn it... ::shoots self:: QUOTE (The Alchemyst @ Dec 7 2008, 06:36 PM) *The story better be good as the ones we're imagining right now. I'm hoping the next waves of set design don't go into a downward spiral all Nuva-like after a year like 2001 did.
Nightmare Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hello Greg! Forst of all, how is December going? I hope it's going well for you, and you're not very busy :)1) Recently you replied to a member saying that the Zesk and the Vorox evolved in 100,000 years. I'd like to know here, are the names of the Agori their... distinctive name? Like say, the Air Village residents are the Tarduk, the sand ones the Zesk, the Rock ones the Atakus... 2) I remember you saying that at the beginning of 2009 no tribe is considered bad. However Tuma's description implies that the Rock Tribe is going to cause the serious problems you talked us about in Bara Magna. So the idea would be, at first everything is more or less OK, but one day the Rock Tribe wants to conquer the planet and then we would be starting actually the Story? 3) Another thing that intrigues me: seeing how Tuma is that different from the rest of Skrall, is he from a different sepcies? 4) Lastly, you recently revealed that Bone Hunters do ride Rock steeds and are releated to the Rock tribe. Can you confirm then, that Fero is a Bone Hunter? Thanks for your time :), :n: :i: :g: :h: :t: 1) In the case of Zesk, yes; in the case of the others, no, they are individual names like Jaller and Kongu. 2) Follow the story and find out 3) Can't discuss it 4) Yes
Refia Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I'm hoping the next waves of set design don't go into a downward spiral all Nuva-like after a year like 2001 did. I just hope the enormous-oversized-super-uber-bazooka-launchers (aka Cordak/Midak/Nynrah) stay away for good. Yay for Zamor and Thornax launchers, I say. Or better yet, no launchers. Ah pre-2004, how I miss thee.
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I hope that the Zesk aren't as nearly as civilized as the othe Agori, because they've got four feet, four eyes and a tail. If they had advanced culture, that would be weird. Also, I wonder why Greg is not allowed to discuss what Tuma is...Maybe Tuma's from another world or somethng?
Pencoin Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hmm... What if... Its all the tribes are peaceful as but Tuma appears either 1( Makuta or 2( Skrall transformed by EP and decides to take over?
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I was really hoping that Tuma could be a Makuta, but that wouldn't work 'cause all the Makuta are dead, aside from The Makuta who's not gonna leave Mata Nui for anything.
Pencoin Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I like to think Makuta is a pawn for a bigger force.
Refia Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Meh, I for one hope Tuma is a completely new villain/person. The Makuta are old and done with (aside from Teridax). I also hope Tuma isn't a minion of anyone, I hope he's just... Tuma.
---Vertea--- Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 MORE from OGD: Before you refered to Vorox as "the Vorox", so does that mean that there are multiple Vorox?Yes, same as there are multiple SkrallBefore I told you I wanted to get 20 Skrall maybe more, for a Glatorian army. I also want to do this with the Vorox, so can you tell me how many there are.P.S. You described the social system for how it works with the Skrall, can you tell me how it works with the Vorox?1) Quite a few.2) Vorox don't participate in the social system. That doesn't mean they never fight in an arena -- there is one they fight in, sometimes -- but they have no village or arena of their own. Post-disaster, the Vorox and the Zesk regressed socially to being not much more than beasts. 1. How many is quite a few? 20, 50, 34?2) I would say more than 50
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Post disaster? Man, maybe Bara Magna is the GB planet after all! On a set related note, what does everyone expect from the special edition sets? I presume we'll have them, as we had four last year.
ShaddowCroc Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Wait, I think I get why Greg can't talk about what Tuma is. Tuma was named after a Maori god, and if you look closely it looks as if he has a mask, Since it's not connected in the same way other's mask/helmets are. I think that Tuma came from the MU somehow. Like using an Olmak or something. Think how sick that would be. . .
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 No, I'm pretty sure that Tuma can be derived from Latin. If he came from the MU though, that would be cool. Maybe he's Iruini?
Pencoin Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Maybe he's Iruini? Die. Its Maori for wargod, I'd love Tuma and Teridax to be unknowing pawns for a evil great being, that would be epic.
---Vertea--- Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Where's Gunnar? he just posted a large amount of 2009 info on BZP in the OGD... I'd post it, but it's his stuff and he has an account here, so that would be pretty rude of me. :)
Bfahome Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 YES YES YES YES YES The Vorox? The Zesk. YES YES YES IT'S LIKE BOHROK ALL OVER AGAIN. kinda But TAN. <3 Also, PRIMITIVE. <3 Also, NOMADS. <3 Also, 2009. <3
Zarkan Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Man, I'm really glad Bionicle is breaking from the usual "6 good guys, 6 bad guys" way of doing bionicle years. Now we have both individual characters and generic species in the exact same time period!
Refia Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I just hope we'll stick around on Bare Magna for a while. Three year, like on Mata Nui. So we can get to know its culture and all. That's what made Mata Nui so great, IMO. That, and the MNOLG that just gave so much life to the island. Did I ever tell you guys MNOLG had beautiful music?
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I'm curious if the two sand-based sets for the Winter 08 line are supposed to be of the same species? And if so, does this mean that creatures on Bara Magna grow in the normal fashion? Or even if they are not, do Agori, Glatorian, and all the others still go through life cycles? I'm assuming we're still not going to do actual reproduction, but I'm also guessing having these creatures go from children to adult is no longer taboo. Is this the case? 2009 is all turning out to be very interesting, I'm eager to start learning more about it. 1) No, they are not same species. Zesk were once Agori, like the other villagers, albeit physically a bit different -- and Vorox more like other Glatorian. Post-disaster, they regressed and have become little more than beasts. 2) I really haven't decided how new beings come into being, but no, that is no longer taboo. In fact, it is established in story early on that Gresh is considerably younger than some of the other Glatorian .Gresh being the youngest of the bunch... now they're starting to use scrapped 2001 ideas! CAN this get any better? -Ikk
Mizzeh Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I, for one, hate the concept of non-individuality in 2009. When I first learned that there would be multiple Skrall, I was somewhat disappointed because there would be no individual Skrall. But then it went too far by making the Zesk and the Vorox a species. They were such cool characters, but no, they had to make them a species instead of individuals. Ugh. The only thing that really makes up for it are pirates riding on dinosaurs in the desert.
Antrozek Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 i think that i found a little good info of our favourite treasure Hunter Tarduk: AMAZON TARDUK Tarduk knows life is hard for his jungle tribe, but he sees that as just one more challenge to overcome. He uses his powerful claws and sharp spikes to defend himself as he searches the sands for ancient artifacts and lost treasures. * Treasure hunter of the wastelands * Fully articulated limbs allow you to pose your jungle element Agori BIONICLE for work, battle or display * Send him into battle with his allied Glatorian No.8980 Gresh * Measures over 4" tall * 17 pieces
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I imagine we'll be there a while. We've been on the Endless Ocean Planet for 8 years. Also: Hi, Greg! A few quick questions:1. How much variation in size is their among the Agori? 2. Does the Sand Tribe live in a village? 3. Will the 2009 villages receive actual names? (Like "Onu-Koro" as opposed to just "Earth Village.") 4. We know that Bara Magna has no oceans, but are there smaller seas? 5. Are 2009 masks/helmets powerless? 6. In most cases, do the Agori tribes have leaders that are also Agori? 6a. Would these leaders possibly be like "elders" or "storytellers" (Or something similar) as well? I know that storytelling, for example, was a big part of Greek and Roman culture, as well as early BIONICLE. It would be very cool to see that kind of stuff again. 6b. If the leaders don't fill this role, are there others that do? 7. Do Agori/Glatorian grow as old as Matoran/Toa do? 1) Not much 2) No 3) Yes 4) No 5) Yes 6) In most cases, yes 6a) I am not really incorporating the storytelling thing in, simply because legends are not a big part of this culture. This is not an optimistic, "someday things will get better" bunch like the Turaga and Matoran were. These are people struggling every day to survive in a harsh world, and being very practical and down to earth about it. 7) Yes 6a. I don't mean like the Turaga- I was thinking more along the lines of ancient Roman and Greek bards. Not telling prophecies, but just going around and telling stories (A "Bionyssey?"). I was thinking that it might be cool to have the Level 3 Readers narrated by an Agori bard or something like that. Just an interesting approach, I think. New Ones: 8. You referred to the Zesk and the Vorox in another member's PM. Would you say that those sets represent particular characters or just any of them? 8a. Do Vorox vary in appearance? 8b. Do Zesk vary in appearance? 9. In a similar vein, could you explain a few things about the Glatorian and Agori for us? Do the Agori sets all represent individual characters besides Zesk? 9a. How about the Glatorian sets? Besides Skrall and Vorox, do they represent individual characters? 10. Are we going to get a term for wildlife on Bara Magna? Something like "Rahi" in the MU? 11. I was just wondering based on Skrall's canister picture- We know that the Skrall Tribe lives up in the mountains, but do they more specifically live in caves up there? 6a) Certainly, it is in a Glatorian's best interest to have tales told of his prowess, but I don't think there is a class of people devoted to just doing that. Bara Magna is pretty dangerous to travel around -- you do it because you have to, for survival or for profit. 8) Any of them 8a-8b) They won't in comics, because we only have the one set of sets 9) Yes, they do 9a) Besides Skrall, yes, they do. 10) I don't think so, no 11) No.
