Bundalings Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I think it's the black background and elemental colours that make it so 2001-ish again. Also, what is that symbol in the background? Is it a new one, or is it just me not being able to discern something that we've all seen before? I think it's a new one. ~Bunda
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) This so reminds me of those ol' Toa-Turaga and Toa-Tohunga posters!-Ikk Note also that Vorox is the only one there with no stairs behind him. And Vertea, your Zesk is adorable. I'm not sure that that's what you were going for, but still. Also, we know why Malum was exiled: 6) Malum tried to kill an opponent in the arena when the opponent had already given up Edited December 17, 2008 by Gunnar
Chef Hatchet Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I managed to get Vorox and Zesk today, But my camera has gone missing. :/ Any photo requests for when I find it? I've decided not to open the canisters until I get them, so I can have better photos for my reviews.
Holy Diver Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I picked up Skrall and Zesk on Sunday. I've also managed to loose my thornax twice. I'm also going to pick up the rest for the holidays.
matanui911 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 This so reminds me of those ol' Toa-Turaga and Toa-Tohunga posters! Also, Tarduk's mask is FRIGGIN' COOL! -Ikk It reminds meso much of 2001!!
---Vertea--- Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Oooh, nice. You make this, Vertea?-Z yyus. yus I did. :)
matanui911 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 when I saw pictures of the glatorians before they came out, they looked really bad, but in real life hey look very nice!
The Crazy One Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I love the Glatorian and i know its early days, but i think it could be one of the best years. ( it is certainly is lokking to be my favourite )
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 when I saw pictures of the glatorians before they came out, they looked really bad, but in real life hey look very nice! That's what people mostly do See pics, Judge em before sets come out, Sets released point of view changed
VBBN Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 That's what people mostly do See pics, Judge em before sets come out, Sets released point of view changed Sometimes that backfires though, in the case of the Mahri. I loved the prelim pics, but I didn't like the sets when I got them. The Crazy one: Absolutly. I think 2006 is still a bit higher, but it does depend on what summer brings us.
Chef Hatchet Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Meh, I liked the Glatorian prototypes A LOT better. Especially Gresh. Lack of those Green Nuparu Claws = NOOOO But I always though Malum's design sucked. At least we have some good new parts, like the Red Hordika feet, and the Red/Orange/Yellow Mantax armor.
The Alchemyst Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Meh, I liked the Glatorian prototypes A LOT better.Especially Gresh. Lack of those Green Nuparu Claws = NOOOO But I always though Malum's design sucked. Both Quoted for Truth, Gresh would have been an automatic get with those claws. But since he doesn't, he's not. =/ And I don't see why so many people like Zesk, the only new parts he have are the recolored limbs (But those limbs were silly in the first place, IMO), and his mask, which does look cool, but doesn't make me want to buy him over his silly mask. Berix's mask looks cool, and has a Blue Tahu Sword. And Mata Blue hand pieces. Vorox has some great amount of recolors, but has definitely fallen to Skrall, who just looks so dang cool. Skrall looks cool except for the fact he has a shrunken head and no recolors. He has four new molds, excluding the Thornax, launcher and head: His hand, his mask, his cleaver and armor. That's it. ._. Metus looks a lot better, and I personally think think his shield could be much more useful in MOCing then Strakk's axe. But Skrall for the win. :3 All the new Gresh pics make me want to get him though, the blade pieces look great, and I have a lack of lime. ._. [-The Alchemyst-]
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 But Zesk is cute And yes, Skrall. Skrall's the best.
dviddy Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Skrall's the best. Don't get this at all? Skrall is the one I think looks the absolute goofiest. Goofily skinny, silly proportions, and really pretty lame bladed shoulders. I like the shield, don't like the rest. I like Gresh and Strakk, because they have character. Both their 'helmet/mask' things add an actual characterization to the sets, much as the 2001 Kanohi did for the Olda. And that's awesome.

Skrall (and Vorox) are the only two I won't be getting (Malum, Gresh, and Tarix for Christmas, maybe Strakk later on).

(Not as lame as Malum though.) Watch, Greg will give Strakk and Gresh the wrong character. =P ~Bunda

He is much too skinny to be having huge spikes jutting out from his shoulders. His sheild could have been better. Its a bit too round for my tastes.....
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I heard you mention that you hadn't decided yet what the serials would be for next year (Besides the MU one), so I just wanted to ask what you thought about writing one that focuses on the Agori themselves and their villages. Back in 2001-2003 one of the things that helped us to get so acquainted with the characters and location was that, while the main story focused solely on the Toa, the internet always involved the adventures of the Matoran. And with a location as new as this one, I think it would be very beneficial to have a serial that focuses on the villagers. Thoughts? Definitely worth considering, W.
Bfahome Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I just noticed that in this picture there are only two flag designs... I mean the way the ribbon things are blowing on them.~Bunda Huh. Also, fuzzy feeling inside.
Bundalings Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Definitely worth considering, W. I think I hate you now. In a good way. ~Bunda
ShaddowCroc Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 There's a bad way to hate? But a serial focused on the Agori sounds interesting. I wish they'd return to online animations about them, though.
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 New Dwellers in Darkness 8. Can't believe that Zaktan died.
Pencoin Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I think Terry is going to tell us his plan next time.
