It had a nice bit of a suspense, told a few interesting stories, and set the layout for what looks to be an epic confrontation between the Tunnel Crowd and Makuta. For a second there, I thought Brutaka was dead, but then I was relieved to find this wasn't so. The Johmak thing was...strange. I guess they never heard of female names where Johmak came from. That finishes up the artists, though. Jerbraz was my favorite of those. Why do I get the feeling we'll have to deal with the Takanuva army next year? And...I don't feed so bad about Zaktan, he was a snake in a glass orb. His character was the coolest of the Piraka, though, which is a shame. But I figured he had to die, otherwise he could spill his guts to the Shadowed One and the Barraki and then we wouldn't have to wait for Mata Nui to return and save his people. Besides, I knew it was coming since Greg saw the Piraka as creeps anyway. j/k. VK

However, he changed his mind on who had the Destral Olmak, so I suppose he changed his mind on this one too. Speaking of Olmaks, the MU is now screwed, because Vezon of all people has the only known Olmak in the universe, and he insane and confronting a giant wave of EP. Seeing as The Makuta doesn't want anyone else to know how to destroy the universe, Pridak's as good as dead too. Then we'll be down to four Barraki. Finally, Greg had better not find an excuse to kill anybody of the Tunnel Crew, because he's got half the stories best characters down there. Especially Keetongu.

I'm surprised Greg didn't detail that Toa falling down as the large shards of glass impaled his/her stomach. Also, I has my own Takablog. What should the entry for the 26th be? The Order of Mata Nui is now officially on my hate list, as I can't stand most of them aside from Brutaka, Axonn and Jerbaz. Helryx is an annoying ****. Zaktan dying is no surprise. GReg's on a killing spree lately and he's so overdoing it I don't even care anymore. Destroying Brutaka's Olmak is also a big NO. Brutaka sans Olmak =/= cool. Sucks, to tell you the truth. Really, the summer serials are dissapointing mostly. They seem like a thrown-together mess. Destiny War, for example, has almost no continuity IMHO. The Mahri parts of Dwellers in Darkness just about suck and even BiA is overdoing it with the random teleporting to an alternate Spherus Magna. I liked the earlier three serials better. It seems Greg wants to cram as much random stuff and character deaths as he can in these last few chapters and last few moments in the MU. And it sucks IMHO, to tell you the truth.
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) I liked this chapter. It sets the stage for the final battles, below and in Metru Nui, which is very fitting. Hewkii finally gets to have some character rather than just being one of a team who can do nothing but save the universe. What happens in Mata Nui's brain was no surprise, but at least we can expect some of the greatest beings in the history of Bionicle to challenge the Makuta. I want to get rid of all this alternate stuff, though... it's blarg, not to mention igh. Oh, and Bink somewhy thinks Metru Nui and Mata Nui are the same. The biggest screw-up in serials I've found was in Into the Darkness, last chapter: That was when Makuta noticed something, something quite wonderful. A lone drop of water was falling down the outside of his icy prison. Then he saw why - Jaller had created a wall of flame A lone drop of water... underwater? XD Greg's a landlubber. -Ikk

Skrall, on the other hand... I didn't particularly like the latest DiD update. Apart from the possibility for more Hewkii, the whole Mahri part seemed worthless to the serial. And all these people standing around for no reason whatsoever cheeses me off. None of the serials are sticking to their plot. We've got cameo-party/Mahri DiD, WTF-party BiA, and a sexy cliffhanger party Destiny War. And odds are none of the Hagah are going to die. Cop-out.

Makuta's amazing eyes and mind compute out the incredible amount of distortion that the ice causes. Just a thought, when Matoro froze Makuta, maybe Matoro made his own ice as opposed to freezing the water already there. This would mean that Makuta would be frozen in Protodermic Ice, and when the ice began to melt, the drop was made of liquid protodermis instead of normal water (which is everywhere else), and then Makuta used his amazing eye and mind powers (as mentioned before) to see through the ice and identify the LP drop amongst the normal water! I still like how in between BiA 3 and 4, while Vultraz was bring his blade down on Mazeka's head, Mazeka is able to magically put his Kanohi back on.
