The Alchemyst Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Yesterday was absolutely hilarious. Downtown Chicago's Target's toy section was wiped. It was a completely clean mess. Entire aisles were empty. Last minute Christmas shopping. I suppose. There were a few of the larger Lego sets, including the Power Miners, the Underwater Agents, some of the 09 SW stuff. There were groups of carts, or so of them, with 5 carts each, filled with random toys that I assume were on the floor and stuff. And the only Bionicle sets I could find were a Jetrax and a Yetrax. XD So hopes of finding Vorox and Berix went down; didn't want to go all the way to Toys R Us. I'm waiting for the January sale on S@H, that's said to be tomorrow: Mutran and Photok are going to be mine. This Christmas wasn't so bad, Rockoh and Tahu. Except that Tahu was missing one of his fancy jets. [-The Alchemyst-]
Pencoin Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) I got Onua Mistika, good for parts I guess. Wasn't from my family though, they are not stupid when it comes to Bionicle. Edited December 25, 2008 by Pencoin
The Alchemyst Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I got Onua Mistika, good for parts I guess. Wasn't from my family though, they are not stupid when it comes to Bionicle. Personally I like him a lot more than Tahu. A simple mod with the pieces give to you makes him shorter, allows him to hold the gun right, and just overall, look a lot cooler. I should take pics or something. [-The Alchemyst-]
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I got Mazeka and the big Alien Spaceship from Mars Mission. My birthday's on the 29th and we're going to Disneyland, so I'm hoping to get a Glatorian or two. (And I expect my parents may be getting me a Yetrax and Axalara.) Mazeka's awesome, by the way. I highly recommend him. And yeah, the description calling Vorox a member of the Earth Tribe is gonna confuse some of the children. Does anyone else think the Skrall are somewhat reminiscent of the Mars Mission Aliens?
The Alchemyst Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Does anyone else think the Skrall are somewhat reminiscent of the Mars Mission Aliens? Face-wise, I think they do. Other than that, not too much. Still think Sand Tribe is pretty darn cool. I wish they had some elemental powers though. Although dunno how that would work with the beastly Vorox. Or Gresh. Suppose that could be plant-life. Anyone else amused by the fact we seem to have gotten over the summer sets so quickly? Last time we were having all these MS Paint Analysis of the blurry pictures and stuff. XD [-The Alchemyst-]
dviddy Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Downtown Chicago's Target's toy section was wiped. It was a completely clean mess. Entire aisles were empty. Last minute Christmas shopping. I suppose. I work in the biggest of the Tulsa-area Super Targets, and let me tell you, we were scary busy on Christmas Eve. Though luckily, I work in the Starbucks, and we were less busy than the rest of Target was. Thankfully! There was not a cart to be found throughout the entire store, because they were all taken! On the plus side, I received a professional lightbox for Christmas today, so here's hoping my photos get that much better. :D

I didn't buy anything so I can't say. Starbucks here was all out of all Chocolate products. D: All the carts were taken? Wow. ._. [-The Alchemyst-]
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Face-wise, I think they do.Other than that, not too much. Aesthetically, I mean. All black with brightly-colored patterns running over their pieces. Plus they're the ones with the glow in the dark, and the two colors for their patterns that we've seen are green and red, like with the Aliens. And yeah, the Sand Tribe is cool. As far as the tribes themselves go, from what we've seen I think they're my second favorite.
dviddy Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Starbucks here was all out of all Chocolate products. D: We ran out of Mocha and signature hot chocolate fifteen minutes before close. It's been a busy last few weeks. Deevee - I know, yes, that one is far superior to mine, but I was making a point that I could do better than Airoski. :P I don't have the best photography equipment, namely the camera itself. Haha, I'm just trying to show off my gallery. Because I love it, haha. Your pictures were fine, and do exactly what they would need to do for new set pictures. :D
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Anyone else amused by the fact we seem to have gotten over the summer sets so quickly? Yeah, it was almost instantaneous, but not out of a lack of love... more because our questions we had were mostly answered within the first wave. Head configurations? Check. Launchers? Check. Story? Check. Sex? (lol) Check. New parts? Check, etc, etc... The only thing I personally had in anticipation was what Mats looked like, if he had a classic mask, and what kind of recolors of the new parts were made. The ankle cuffs (awesome.) were the only thing that wowed me. So yeah, they kick megablocks. We just know what language the sets are speaking already. One main question left... what DOES that seal say?
The Alchemyst Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Well, I'd be surprised if it was something other than the movie tie-in. [-The Alchemyst-]
S-N Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 One main question left... what DOES that seal say? Lesbians. Legends, or at least that's what my eyes see. I hope it's a legendary mini CD.
MercenaryXero Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 (edited) I really want another round of promo CDs, if only for the nostalgia. Also hello everyone, etc. Edited December 26, 2008 by MercenaryXero

hollisbrick Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Does any one have any of the 09 line? I would like to see the scorpian type ones
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Does any one have any of the 09 line? I would like to see the scorpian type ones What do you meen? the "scorpion type ones' are easily seen through brickshelf =P
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Search Vorox and fall in love. =D Also this: 3) Iconox is ice, Tesara is jungle, Tajun is water Good call on not make Tajun ta' jungle village. -Ikk
iLego94 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Love the new names! 2009 is looking like a 2001 caliber story! ~iLego94
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I love that they HAVE names! We haven't had Bionicle-named minor locations since... Mount Valmai, and that was the only one of the year. -Ikk
Can Calyx Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Destiny War #9 was the worst written of the series, despite the fact that it lived up to the "war" title the most. As excellent as this year's summer serials have been, I think they intertwined a little too much. I can't wait for Reign of Darkness (despite the overusage of Darkness in Bionicle titles).
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 QUOTEOne main question left... what DOES that seal say? Lesbians. OMG, that's EXACTLY IT!
Refia Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Destiny War 9 sucked. And as a whole Destiny War wasn't much to write home about. It wasn't a story, but a thrown together mess. It started out well, but when it began to cross with the other serials, randomly introduce Dark Takanuva's, kill characters for no reason and resolve next to nothing, it became suckage. The best parts were any part with Brutaka or Axonn. Or Vezon. But all in all, Dark Mirror was much, much better. The only serial this summer that I really like is Brothers in Arms. It's as random at times as DW and DiD (Alternate Spherus Magna, the hell?), but at least it sticks with its main characters and has cool randomness (Alternate Spherus Magna = great).
iLego94 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Can anyone sharpen the summer images with photoshop or something??? It would bw great if you could :) ~iLego94
ShaddowCroc Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I just got Takanuva, and I have one thing to say: Best BIONICLE set ever. (And every time I pose him, I'm reminded of MNOLG. )
