Good god, I loved the comic! I need the next one now! XD

I love how we've seen almost all sets in one comic already. What was really so awesome about this comic, however, was that it actually felt like a form of story-telling, and not just a few coloured pages of action, like most comics the past 3 years. I liked last year's comics, but this one blows every comic since 2002 out of the water.

Strakk is awesome (loved his line about Gresh's guts) and all other characters are pretty cool themselves. Vorox are lovable! ^^

The art and colouring was nothing short of great too.

Well, I really have no negative things to say about this comic. 2009, I love you. I have that 2001 feeling again. ^^

PS: DID9 was not bad, better than DW9 at least. I'm glad nobody died except Miserix, and even he died in an original way.

Loved the new comic! Strakk is great ^_^

And by the look of things, we'll finally get a gander at those elusive southern islands next year.

The comic was great, I wonder who the guy in the shadows was (It wasn't Atakus he was with the Skrall before), I like the generic Agori as well. Berix has the character I wanted,.

I'm guessing the character in the shadows is a store exclusive, but that's just me :) Anyways, the story was breathtaking, Greg plunged the readers into a new world of mystery, rule, battles, dreams and hopes. If Greg keeps this up I'll be less upset that there will not be book until summer. Pop did a great job, and Ulises was on top of his game. The comic was the best one in years (it would be hard to compare it to the 2001 comics, as they are radically different.) Characters were developed, the story played out well -and the fights weren't corny!- and the landscape was amazing. A+ job!!!

Wow, great comic!

But Strakk says on page 13, "He Don't."

But isn't the guy in the shadows Fero? The Skrall said he wasn't a Skrall.

I think it's just really cramped letters, as the would be "O" looks irregular. I think that the person is really a store exclusive.

Bit of news here, A few Brickshelf Users have pointed out that the Summer sets will be called "Cerix."

On another note, I have saved the new summer images to my website Here

That ain't Kiina, anyway, I doubt shadows is going to be a set yet, he might appear in a summer one. I think he could be the big bad guy. Tuma is like... not quite, 'final battle' material.

Wow, just wow! The comic was more amazing than I thought it was going to be. I always worry about the quality of the comics but this, this impressed me by a lot! I was overfilled with nostalgia! It wasn't because of resurrecting old characters or references to past events but it was the atmosphere that was generated by the comic! Detail to locations is back, dynamic poses with good artwork, and a pace that didn't felt rushed!

I have a question: Will there be far less books this year? I'm wondering because I felt that the books were the cause of the bad pacing of the comics and boring stories. The comics were basically cliff notes of the books but with art slapped on. So I'm hoping there will be fewer books this year.

If the quality stays the way it is, I'm going to be one happy Bionicle fan :sweet:!

The person in the shadows is Berix.

Dwellers in the Darkness #9 was excellent, if not just a huge cliffhanger for Reign of Shadows (which should be weekly...given the amount of threads left).

Okay, honestly, the new 2009 comic is just incredible. I'd go so far as to say that it's the best bionicle comic ever, although I'm sure some of the 2001 junkies would get upset at me (j/k).

But seriously, man was that awesome to read! The storyline was deep and mysterious, and tons of distinct characters were established in just 16 pages. And the artwork... beautiful. Characters look awesome and well detailed, the locations are amazing, and the action scenes were really, really intense. This new artist is a winner in my book.

Oh, and best exchange goes to Tarix and Strakk:

Tarix: "You've got to admit, for a jungle type, he's got guts."

Strakk: "Yes, and I think we'll be seeing them soon."

Hey guys, someone on BZP just posted some Q&A from Greg in the magazine topic. Guess what - the mysterious character's identity is going to be revealed in the movie, no less. Makes me think he IS a summer set. :sweet:

This is a great comic. I never thought that Strakk would travel with Tarix and Gresh. He seemed like the guy who would work on his own. Tuma seems like a good villian, but not that good of a villian. He's most likely just a small headache until the main villian arrives (shady guy?).

He probably is, but the way Bara Magna's been portrayed so far makes it seem like even the villages may not be a safe haven, so the outer regions must be difficult to traverse alone. There's power in numbers - Strakk just wants that power for himself. =D

Know what we need to make this year epic? A good canon game, with great area fights for the Wii. The game could be like the canceled "Legend of Mata Nui", telling the whole year's story, but yet be a great motion control experience on the Wii. Control-wise, the game could use the nunchuck for moving, and both the Wii remote and the Nuncuck for fighting (like a toned down Wii Sports boxing). It wouldn't be constant hitting, maybe after 3 consecutive hits you could use a special move. The game would have a story option or an Arena option for all-out brawls between friends, the computer or even online players! I think a well designed canon Wii game (heck why just on the Wii? maybe ports to the PS3, 360 and PS2 would be good) would really rake in the cash especially with a movie tie-in movie games always sell well, even with a direct to DVD film. Too bad LEGO isn't thinking this way :(

No, please no!

That would be devastating.
