One of the countless things I've enjoyed about the MNOG is the vast collection of future story hints placed in the game -- it gives clues to Metru Nui, Mata Nui's death, Mata Nui being the universe, the domes, Takanuva, the Red Star, and probably more! Along with the Amaja Legend, it is to date the single most encompassing source of hints to the mysteries of Bionicle!

Could you please give me some examples. I played that game so long ago, and that was 2001.

Anyway I have to say Vastus and Nui are FTW!

2002 was quite clear - Takua had a Bohrok symbol dream, there was a sign saying "Beware the Bohrok" in Matoran, and Takua encountered the Bohrok at the end.

Most of the other clues were found on the Wall of Stars prophecy thingy I think.

-Metru Nui was vaguely, maybe referred to by Nokama, when she said that the Tohunga lacked a record of all that had come before.

-Mata Nui's death I don't remember ever being alluded to...

-Mata Nui being the universe was foreshadowed by the miners discussing a higher organic composition in the lower underground levels, akin to an ussal shell. The domes might be referenced in there, too.

-Takanuva was kind of referenced. Vakama referred to Takua as a "hero that stands with the Toa" or something like that, but I think he wasn't intentionally insinuating anything... He said in regards to the Toa that he was "awaiting the arrival of another," but I believe it's been confirmed that that referred to one of the Toa Mata that hadn't washed up yet.

-The Red Star was... Introduced. Besides it being present here I don't think anything was hinted at.

-But yes, the Bohrok were all through it. There was also a stone in Le-Wahi that had "You wake one, you wake them all" written on it.

It wasn't just the bugs that made MNOLG2 suck. The gameplay was boring as hell. You did boring things to collect widgets, and you leveled up your character to play kholli. Wow. Exciting.

I have to say MNOLG2 was one of the biggest disappointments in Bionicle history.

Really? I liked it better than MNOLG, mainly because the plot wasn't so freaking linear. MNOLG was all "do this, this, this, this, then this". MNOLG II gave you more freedom to do stuff, like exploring the island.

ALSO NO GLATORIAN YET GRAGHRAWRAWRAWR.

What?

Your post got in the way :P

Was replying to the bit about the Great Spirit bits scattered on Bara Magna. I believe it to be a prototype body for MN.

But the collecting stuff was so ungodly boring.

The ungodly boring part was the loading times. So much in fact that that's just about all I've done on MNOLGII

In addition to what others have said, here are some quotes from the Turaga, paraphrased:

But the ocean remembers. It caught the Toa gently in their descend, and it watches the island as it sleeps.
-- What of Mata Nui?

Nuju says you must understand this. In creation, there is destruction. In destruction their is rebirth. There is no such thing as void; all things are in flux.

EDIT: Vakama's "I'm waiting for the arrival of another..." sounds to me too mysterious to just be referencing another Toa Mata. If this was something said by Greg, remember he wasn't involved at all in the MNOG. ;-)

I'll see if I can find more. =P

Mnolg II was boring. I just remember running around slowly. After I rediscovered with the offline version by someone on the BZP software forum (which I have lost since as my laptop was wiped :( ) I decided I liked it. MNOLG is like Myst, MNOLG II is like "Animal Crossing" :P

MNOGII had the most awesome quote ever.

-- Hello Hafu!

I am not Hafu! I am Taipu! Why does everyone keep thinking I am Hafu and he is me? We are not even from the same village!

Totally makes up for all the early Pakari-Ruru confusion. =D Also this:

I am practising.

-- Uh, okay.

A Great Spirit sized statue? :sceptic:

NOT SO BIG.

see, if the great Beings was inspired by the Agori to create the Matoran, some form the beings of Bara Magna maybe looked Mata Nui in construction. For which they did a statue to him in his honor bearing in mind what was.

But when they finished the statue. The disaster that hitted to Bara Magna happened, the statue brokened in pieces in the middle of earthquakes.

And another thing, I believe That the Great beings, Incluiyed MATA NUI, have the fault of Bara Magna's disaster. I cannot affirm it, but I believe that the "Mistake" that happened in the creation of Mata Nui. was Bara Magna's disaster

My take on the disaster?

We know the Shattering was the EP fragmenting Spherus Magna -- but Brutaka hinted that it might still be going on, by saying "so many wrongs to right before the Shattering can end." If the cataclysm of SM is anything to go by, it seems as if EP is now floating around the cosmos, perhaps carried by shards of Spherus Magna. Whatever celestial body it lands on, it slowly shatters and then floats on.

I am not sure how exactly this affected Bara Magna, but the buried colossus might have somehow prevented the EP from fully destroying the planet. At any rate, Mata Nui's purpose may well be to collect and contain all EP, before the entirety of the universe falls apart.

Actually, Greg revealed just the other day that Spherus Magna no longer exists in the main universe. =P

that can be...Mata Nui can be builded in Bara Magna after that Spherus Magna was Destroyed

then. The great beings was inspired by the Agori to create Matoran

the Agori created a Big statue in honor to the Body of Mata Nui over Bara Magna

but..when Mata Nui go to the Space from Bara Magna

he Beginned a disaster of some form that ducked up all the Planet

It wouldn't be good though if Mats tells everyone he is Mats and his whole story gets told. It has to be something more secret.

Another think is the Greg said that MN should know about BM but doesn't.

I actually think the Mata-Nui isn't on the GB's side.

On the first quote: Greg said that part of the plot was decided on in 2005 or 2006.

On the second quote: While it's possible that Templar or Bob Thompson had vague ideas regarding a seventh Toa, Greg has confirmed that it had yet to be determined.

Mata Nui was built on Spherus Magna and has never been to Bara Magna, so that can't be the case. =P

so..how he know speak Bara Magnian? im confused

Actually, Greg revealed that Mata Nui's death was planned in 2001. I don't remember him saying anything about Takanuva, though, but I may have missed it. It is possible there was, as you say, a basic idea of another hero showing up in the future, and since Templar evidently had access to the story bible or knew much of the planned plot, they may have planted this hint too.

EDIT: Apparently Mata Nui speaks and understands many if not all languages, and Makuta now does too.
