I think it would be sweet to have the Glatorians fight challenges and stuff, and if they sustain enough damage their counters get to "dead" and they lose the challenge.

… anyone ever seen "Reboot"? :D

Dude, we just got winter images. It's August. Do you seriously think you're gonna find images of sets that are almost a year away?

i hope to get soon a summer set images like Vastus and Mata nui

Summer sets are announced at Toyfair in February. I've never seen images appear before then.

Could be another guy like Kazi.

Metus as well...

Yeah, I kno- wait what? Not until toyfair?! Psh. What would the point of leaked images be then?!

We should see them popping up in Nov-Dec if they are as early as these. :P

But srsly. Expect them around January, unless LEGO found out they are helping sales, and decided putting images out earlier wouldn't hurt. ;)

Summer sets are always announced at Toyfair. I've never even seen leaked summer images before.

Ah, Bunda, this is why you should have come here sooner. I'm a former BZP convert myself (remember me? Sure you do! Right? ;_; ), came here for the Mahri leak a while back, but didn't sign up til around the Phantoka leak. We found the names of the summer sets in November, and the sets around Christmas or in January; I forget which, but it preceded ToyFair =P

The sets, well, what can I say - they WOULD be must buys, but with the return of Pirates that's got my wallet's top priority...*shrugs* We'll see if I get me a job ^.^

Very different face.

No plus-rod hole mouth, different overall shape, different eye-positioning. Plus the Kanohi attach a different way and, though Av-Matoran do have plus-rod holes in the back of their heads, it doesn't appear that the Kanohi here are long enough in the rear.

Anyways, I've been gone a few days. These are from many pages back.

While I wouldn't mind that, it doesn't seem likely for a younger kids line. =/

Maybe there will be some of that and some good-guy/bad-guy stuff?

~Bunda

Wasn't Slizers almost solely about battling each other? I don't remember it very clearly, but I think that that's what it was like.

Maybe I should just say the story I get from the images?

Tuma, the champion, and his servant, the dude in his colours riding the dino, run the Colosseum. There are six tribes around it, who compete annually in the Colosseum. They've each got a Glatorian to compete this season, with their own attendant, I.E. the small sets. They each battle in a series of fights, with their own agendas and personalities, and using their different attendants to scurry around the colosseum for a side-story. These guys uncover some sort of plot which brings the rugged gladiators togetether against Tuma. Tuma unleashes Dino-rider on the Glatorian, who defeat it by learning the value of Teamwork. Then they defeat Tuma together. Tuma reveals another plot-point, and then the Glatorian set out on an adventure that leads into the second-half's sets.

Or something.

Based on the amount of different regions in the background, I tend to doubt that it primarily takes place at one location like that. I think that maybe there are multiple arenas. Otherwise, cool.

Well, they never used the Metrutoran torso in a canister set. They could use the big megablocking Av Matoran torso instead, the one found in Kirop, Gavla and Photok and Bitil I mean. Oh, and the arms would be assymetrical, like Hewkii Mahri. And he would be loaded with silver, like the sets you love.

The scary thing is that beside the Metru torso they are perfectly able to produce what we suggested.

Shakar

But the asymmetrical spikities were the coolest part of him!

Anyone else thinking that Gresh's shield thing will make awesome fish fins?

Also D=< @ Bfa's sig.

~Bunda

Exactly what I was thinking.

Anyways, I'm still really liking Skrall. The new build looks good from what I can see, and overall he looks really consistent from an aesthetic standpoint. The maze on his shield, the pattern on his forehead, and the pattern on his swords all look very legendary.

Also, does anyone think Malum's mask looks like a movie-style Great Huna? ...On fire?

O rly? Hmm. It seems like I would have seen them on Brickshelf then, but I don't remember that.

I feel thoroughly corrected. ^_<

And Wrink, the Slizers did have good vs. bad, but it wasn't as obvious. Scuba, Ski, Turbo, and Torch were the good guys, with all the others (minus Millennia) being bad. Millennia was a mystery.

Ah, the pirates... Fond memories of that which I missed out on... But now I have the chance once more!

...Tho the Kraken attackin set kind a disappoints...

On topic:

I'm very glad with the recent design turn in Bionicle. Oh, yes- this upcoming year will far outdo anything thus far, I think. So long as the summer sets aren't letdowns in comparison to the winter line, that is.

The trans-blue/white will be VERY useful as will the blue flame and the large snowflake thing. I like the comeback of the elemental themed designs. These last few years were all too similar. Sure, it gave us pieces that could be used with any type of figure, but having something specifically for an element is just cooler.

Malus looks a little bit of bad-assery, and the flaming chest piece works quite superbly. Raanu looks pretty darn hot-not like sexy hot, you see- like fire hot. That mask is too cool for a small set. Oh, yes... yellow Mata-feets!10/10

The gold on Tarix will make any MOCist happy (as will any sets 2009), though his matoran-like counterpart has some... issues as far as that thing on his head goes. blegh.8/10

I see that Metus has a similar mask design, only cooler. Plus he's associated with Strakk, so... Metus/Strakk FTW!10/10

As for Atakus and Skrall, those blades are to die for and the masks arent too bad, either. Creepy, and yet noble... 9/10

Vorox and Zesk are by far the coolest we've seen since the Rahkshi, so no need for comment there. 12/10

Gresh and Tarduk, however come quite close to Vorox and Zesk in sheer cool looks. Tarduk's mask is incredibly neat-o and will be the first I get, while simultaneously buying Strakk. Gresh has a very sharp look and a new weapon that will make him very worth getting. 10.5/10

The titans are... cool. Nothing spectacular, since thay are just winter titans, but still cool. That nidhiki mask is wierd and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but... whatever.

Even if the sets are still $13.00, they will be VERY worth it this time.

Well they all looked liked the same team.

Anyways, does anybody else think Tarduk's mask looks kind of like an overgrown Krana?

Then explain why we had images of the Mistika in late December? Gorast anf Tahu appeared first I belive.

Oh yeah... sorry. I guess I'm not thinking clearly.

I do. Maybe that's why I love it so much.

8972 Atakus -- WANT. Looks so 2001ish. Especially the weapons.

8973 Raanu -- WANT. Looks so 2001ish. I hope these guys are in the movie. But that's rather likely. Yay.

8974 Tarduk -- Hm, unsure about the feet and hands. Didn't work on Vican very well, but that might have been because of the mediocre colours. But like, awesome colours. And the mask looks like a krana su combined with a krana yo. Combined with epic win. And 2001ishness. Lulz at the name though.

8975 Berix -- This is one of those instances where I want a set to be Mata blue, since Mata blue only works with light blue as the secondary colour. But either way, awesome. Blue and gold for the win. Don't know about the blue flame though, doesn't seem very watery. For obvious reasons.

8976 Metus -- The mask looks a bit gay, I'll need to see it clearer, but he looks pretty elemental. Which is good. That shield better be transparent.

8977 Zesk -- Uh. WANT. I like how they took my advice -- instead of using flashy colours instead of brown/tan, they made the sets simply pwn. Should sell about the same. Hopefully. Ah man, what an awesome set.

8978 Skrall -- I keep confusing him with Skrall Strakk (damnit  ), name-wise. But apart from that. He reminds me of Vladek from Knights' Kingdom. Except poseable. Which is GOOD. WANT.

8979 Malum -- This is the most badass canister set ever. He looks like a freaking titan. Apart from size. Still, WANT.

8980 Gresh -- Bah old hands, but they're probably prototypes. I hope he holds the launcher upside-down like the others. Otherwise, well I know we've had a lime overdose recently but, damn. So elemental. Consistently spikey. Inika chest, but it's in a new colour, which makes up for it.

8981 Tarix -- Like I said, blue and gold wins. I like the look of the water coming out of the weapons. Although only if it's transparent.

8982 Strakk -- My opinion on this set basically depends on the transparency of the spike parts. He's pretty cool but kind of overrated.

8983 Vorox -- The mask. Is epic win. As are the new armour parts. And, what looks like solid tan Piraka feet. WANT. They really hit the nail on the head with the tan sets.

8990 Fero and Skirmix -- Fero looks alright I suppose. Not quite as good as the rest. Skirmix looks a bit shit. But I'd need to see a review.

8991 Tuma -- I don't really like this, it's basically Takanuva without any reasonable armour. But like with Skirmix, and most titans, I'd need to see a review or instructions. I notice the spikes on his sphere are lime though, which is kind of cool.

Also, the launchers are definitely the best ever. The balls really have a nice look about them. But only if they're zamors with holes.

let's see what i think of the sets:

Gresh: totally I WANT, he's megablocking awesome, see only his mask, he's freaking badass

Skrall: hmm, he looks cool, i like his swords, i take it, y see a piraka torso there..?

Tarix: i don't know why, but he looks like a good char for be a bad guy, he got gold and cool swords, i want

Strakk: i love that guy, he's the ice super saiyan, he's frigging awesome, only see, his teeth!!

Vorox: he's one of my most favourites, he is the Bionicle depretator

Maium: HE IS megablocking AWESOME!!!!, i don't know why his mask looks like the style of the bionicle movies for do masks, i say, see his mouth, that red line reminds me to vakama mask form of bionicle 2

Atakus: he looks cool, i like the colour combination

Raanu: i not like her mask

Tarduk: he reminds me to the infected lewa of the 2001 in his pose

Berix: skeleton head

Metus: te va a meter la espada en el culo este Metus vieja!!

Zesk: only just a word..AWESOME!!

Tuma: he looks like a guardian

Fero and Skirmix: hhmm, they two will got a important role in Bionicle 4, cool

Posted (edited)

Too lazy to list all, so I'll just say who I want and why.

Strakk: This guy is the embodiment of the word 'elemental'. He is humanoid ice. And he has an awesome axe.

Vorox: SUPPORT TAN SETS WOOT. Plus the mask and design are wow.

Metus: MOAR ICE. Nice weapons.

Berix: F### YEAH SEAKING BLUE FIRE.

Zesk: Tan and quadrupedal.

Oh yeah and I like some of the tools, but that's not enough to make me want the set TBH. :/
