Mata Nui was described in BL8: Downfall as having nightmares since his revival.

And whoa, didn't think of that. You're right, we actually don't know if Makuta has already 'pushed' him out... maybe that was why the BOM needed him to die and be revived? Dunno how it'd work, but interesting.

I think makuta wanted to weaken him (by letting him die) so he could easily crush his will.

Well I'm using the real word here but, when I was younger i fell asleep in the car once and i had to be moved into my house (by my parents ) but i rember when I was asleep i had a nightmare. Maybe its some kind of defence? Where you have nightmares to try and wake you up cause you are worried where you have been moved to?

Might not be the same for giants though...

OH i love these bionicles,

but lego have alot to live up to now, they cant mess up the toa.

If they do it will be such a dissapoinment

but looking on the bright side the new baddies are sweet.

Actually, there are no Toa at all next year. ;) And it's likely the half the ones we've seen are good, and the rest are evil... hope they surprise us with who it is, though.

No way, thats a change but i doubt half of the ones we have seen are good , they all look prety evil to me.

Well Tarix didn't look that evil but i won't make assumptions.

Omega -- Greg said the good/evil mix was done by request of the retailers. Kids want conflict immediately rather than waiting half a year for the opposing side to be released. I seriously doubt they'd change that schedule now. Besides, plenty of heroes in Bionicle look downright demonic already -- that's part of the world.

Antrozek -- Aye, I think the nightmares have be revealed to be some kind of consciousness about what's happening in the universe. As for their purpose in story -- well, it shows Mata Nui what happened because of his ignorance (the Makuta striking him down, Reign of Darkness, Toa dying, etc.)

Oh, and the Matoran civil war was about 80,000 years ago, so Mata Nui wouldn't be dreaming 'bout that.

My guess would be Gresh (Knights' Kingdom mask much?) and, hm... probably Malum. His Raanu buddy at least looks fairly benevolent.

Having evil-looking heroes is always a blast.

now i think about it , it seems plausable,

in fact i think thats probable right

but the fact the the goodies and baddies is split is knd of annoying when they end up with different weapons but since its not a toa team it dosen't matter as much.

Aye, that's the bad side of it -- when put together, the team doesn't look coherent. *curses the Toa Mistika* It'll be interesting to see if the summer villains/heroes actually have any connection with the characters we've seen so far, or if they'll team up later...

I like this whole new universe thing. It's unpredictable.

When do the new bionicles come out? i have totaly forgoten the timeline

and is it true the next release of bionicles after glatorians is vastus?

Suppose' I'll add my two cents on the matter, seeing as I've been lutking around here watching this place:

Skrall: Mmm, I've never been one for Red/Black, but those blades are win. I really like the feel to him; interested to see how his body fits together. 8/10.

Gresh: Ick, that gap in his armor isn't so hot, but all the fantastic recolors on him are. Mask is pretty cool to, along with the blades that make his sheild up. 8/10.

Strakk: I keep messing him up with Skrall. Sadly. I LOVE this one - very yeti-esque in my mind; the blue/white pieces on him are also a large improvment in the color department compared to the last few years. That ax and mask (You can see his friggin' teeth!) then pushed me over the edge; I think he's one of the bst of the bunch. So, 9.5/10 (Body's a little odd)

Vorox: ...But this guy blew Skrall away. TAN!!! TAN!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him; such a beautiful color scheme and design. Tail is a wee bit high, but the color scheme, new armor, and friggin' awsome head make up for that. 10/10.

Atrix: Ew. Not diggin' the lack of body armor, and cookie-cutter design. The gold is nice, but he just doesn't do it for me. But, the villans always seem to be better than the Toa/Heros for me, so... 6/10.

Malum: Another meh design for me. I like the chestplate and the color sceme, but... he's missing something. Way to simple, wish he had a much better design. To remenicent of the Carapar, for me. 5.5/10.

Small sets:

Berix: Nice colors; mask is a little odd. Blue flame won me over, though. 7/10

Zesk: Mask + Color scheme + Stinger + Four legs = WIN. 10/10

Metus: Ooo, very elemental. Something I love. Headgear-thing is odd, but the snowflake makes up for it. 9/10

Atakus: Black/Blue = AWSOME. Why couldn't Skrall have that on his color scheme? Blades are nice too, as is his mask. 8/10

Raanu (Whatever his anme is): Nice colors. I like the red blades and the mask, too. Not much else to say. 8/10

Tarduk: Um... mask is really wierd. I'll just be getting him for his claws anyways, so... 6/10

Tuma: Hey, I really like him. He isn't the best of titans I've ever seen, but that mask (watever it is...) is really cool. I like the blades and color scheme as well. 9/10

Fero and Skirmix: Meh. Recolors are nice, but basically another fenrakk. Not much to say here. 8/10

And that's basically it. I somehow, deep down, regret spending my money on 2008... these sets are so good for their colors, really. I was hoping Lego would bring Tan back, too, and for once... they obliged in my wishes. So, I'm looking forward to next year, needless to say. =P

They're released in January and August offcially, though usually the respective months before that (in the States anyway XD)

And the summer canister characters are named Gelu, Kiina, Stronius, Vastus, Ackar, and Mata Nui. So yep, Vastus is there.

EDIT: I'm going with the set list, and since that says Malum, that's what I believe is official.

Dont forget we dont have bad/good guys right now

We have GLADIATORS, sure we can have some more mercyiless or more mercyful then others but at the heart of it they fighting for fun/cash/fame/tradiation/glory.

Just because ice-guy looks evil doesnt mean he is evil, he just may be more bad-a*s*s (sorry for censor-bypass EB).

I'm a 120% sure these guys are half evil, half good. Remember what Bionicle is about, and what kids want -- obvious conflict, between pure good and evil. They already tried the ambiguous sides thing in 2005, and it was not received well.

Besides, really any science fantasy story is about good versus evil... it'd be boring any other way.
