Ehlekrebound Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) the cendox v1 is a snow mobile but with more sand and skorpio A GIANT SCORPION FTW AWSOME Edited January 16, 2009 by Ehlekrebound
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 From the looks of the new set pics, it seems that the Spikit might be part of an EXCLUSIVE summer set. Did I see tan Onua shield on Thornatus V9? And Midak Skyblasters on Skopio XV-1!?! Tan Avtoran jetpacks on Cendox V1? That is WICKED. And it seems that the Kaxium V3 set has TWO vehicles, a small one and a big one. And that Ignika/Mata Nui image on the bottom is pure WIN.
Matsuoka Nui Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 OMG!!!! :pir-cry_happy: :pir-cry_happy: :oh3: :oh3: At last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what I love about this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (raises the volume on the music) ToaMata Nui
Visorak-kal Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I know. It's a shame there's no Titans this time around, but then again I wasn't really expecting any from the set names. They all sounded like vehicles, and voila, they all are. While the technology is a little strange for what appears to be a barren desert world, and there are no chariots, some of the sets themselves I do like. (I would have to assume that the coming of Mata Nui changes things on Bara Magna.) The Cendox V1 is okay, glad to see more tan. The Kaxium I really like, it is like a BIONICLE dual motorcycle, which I don't think is too unwanted considering the nice response for the Destral Cycle in 2008. I liked the Destral Cycle, and I like this. Plus, is it just me, or is that a nice mix of Mata blue and silver? Thornatus, I"m not too sure on. It looks a little thrown together from this picture, with weapons slapped on and not much bulk to the vehicle itself. I am leaving most criticism to better pictures. Skopio is superb. It is a vehicle, but at the same time it has the cool feeling of an enormous Rahi. With all likelihood, it probably will end up being just another vehicle, but it sure looks like a mega-Visorak. The tread wheels for legs is an awesome idea, it's like high technology meets primitive design. Liking so far, and it seems the Spikit will be an exclusive set. Maybe with a Titan? VK

Refia Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Those vehicles are fail, fail, fail. Low technology, my behind! Only Skopio whatever looks like a potential buy. The Ignika on the bottom of the pages is indeed win, though. Edited January 16, 2009 by Refia
Visorak-kal Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Those vehicles are fail, fail, fail. Low technology, my behind! Only Skopio whatever looks like a potential build. The Ignika on the bottom of the pages is indeed win, though. I assume you are failing them because you dislike their designs? I mean, I don't particularly agree with high tech on Bara Magna given the current situation (which could of course change), but the sets themselves I think look pretty neat. The only catch is they don't fit the situation particularly well. Plus, Greg has mentioned that Bara Magna at one point was more advanced that it current is. For all we know, these vehicles could simply be the only remnants of that past age. I also like the gold Ignika; I guess this sort of confirms that Mata Nui will have a gold Ignika. VK
Matsuoka Nui Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Wow....The History of the Ignika (as a set) 2006: A fused Ignika onto vezon's face (very ugly  ) 2007: No Ignika (though there were gunmetal versions of what vezon had via armor on Maxilos) 2008: Silver Ignika (Not bad...better than having no Ignika) 2009: GOLD IGNIKA!!!!!  That would be funny (or would it be boring???) to have an Ignika each year....from 2006-20?? (when Mata Nui returns to his body???) Toa Mata Nui
Natman8000 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I think these sets are really cool! I bet lots of people would who dont like bionicles would get them, just for the useful treads
Visorak-kal Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I think these sets are really cool! I bet lots of people would who dont like bionicles would get them, just for the useful treads Very true, Natman. I'm not a MoCer myself, but even I can think of a lot of ways all these neat wheels and treads could be used; there's a really nice variety of pieces included in these. I also like the use of the big wheels. VK

VK I'm just no fan of vehicles, IMHO they are not very Bionicle-ish. I disliked them last year, same now. Why can't we get some cool beasts again, like Muaka and Kane-Ra, or a Kardas-like set (never got that one, unfortunately)? Would be so much more fun in my opinion than another hi-tech vehicle LEGO makes in almost every of its lines. They might be a nice build, but design-wise and Bionicle-wise they fail for me. Except for Skopio, as it's more a creature-vehicle than a humanworldish vehicle. I wish we got some sets like the ideas here, warwagons pulled by animals, it would suit Bara Magna as we know it now better, IMHO. These vehicles kinda ruin the whole 'low technology' thing LEGO tried to convince me of. But aside from the dissapointing vehicles, the canister sets look good once more in summer. I'll buy those for sure. I need my Gold Ignika.
Tyranide Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 these vehicles could simply be the only remnants of that past age. And they are, as I recall.
The Crazy One Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Here's my small review on the new sets. Skopio : Must have on my part , nice design and looks like it coverts into a tank ( legs fold round and travels on it tracks ). 8/10 Thronatus : Nah, just doesn't do it for me, its Jetrax with wheels and Antroz with a messed up mask. A last resort buy. 5/10 Cendox : Love it, a sandmobile, must have. 7/10 Kaxium : Sweet, a double bike , maybe not my best buy though, third on my list. 6/10 Stronius : Yes , big and brutish , love him and he has a mace definatley a must have. 8/10 Ackar : Streemlined , red , nice shape, what a buy for me. 9/10 Vastus : Gresh and Vastus, what a team, i'm looking foward to this one. 8/10 Kiina : A bit disapionting , very bleak and bear but i love the staff, still, she is my last one on the list of Glatorian. 6/10 Gelu : 2 freaking snowflakes on his back, wow , cant wait for him! 8/10 Mata Nui : Need i say no more , its the freaking great spirit!!!!! 10/10 I think i might cry i'm so desparate for this one. ? Mata Nui second set ? : I'm not sure if its a real set but if it is , i'm getting it! I love this year, only 2 sets realy let me down ( Thornatus and Kiina ) though they are still on my list. Gosh, i better start saving for all of this!! Yours faithfuly , Crazy One. Edited January 16, 2009 by The crazy one
Natman8000 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Does anyone notice that Gelu's mask looks like a clone's helmet?
The Crazy One Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Does anyone notice that Gelu's mask looks like a clone's helmet? Yes, he looks quite a bit like one, and Kiina looks like a stormtrooper! No she doesn't , i was being silly. Edited January 16, 2009 by The crazy one
Algernon Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I like the walker, but the rest of the vehicles seem boring... And I agree they seem high-tech for a barren wasteland.
Zarathos Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Awwwwwww!!! My schools server blocks those links! Anybody feel like posting those to brickshelf? It'd be much appreciated -Z
Matsuoka Nui Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I heard rumors once that Mata Nui might be released in his MU form some day and is suppose to be a bit taller than Takanuva 08...but I doubt that it would be released this year....but at least his Toa form is better than nothing....but did anyone else heard about this rumor....??? Holy Diver Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 They are all must buys except for Thornatus. It just looks too much like the Jetrax alt. model.
Nightmare Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Two things guys: -What the heck is going on? All of them have the Skrall Labyrinth Motif in the background (even Mata Nui!) -Look at the vehicle riders. If someone thinks that they are too strange to look like Agori, rise hand. Also, doesn't Gelu (funny, in my langauge that means (when well spelled) I freeze ) have a Metus shield in his back? EDIT: Oh yeah. The Agori serial is called "Riddle of the Great Beings".
