That wasnt all it said, it had some nameless titans and some other things which could be exclusives/play-sets. They could be another kind of set this year as well, Considering we got health-counters I think we might get Figure-sized playsets as well, but I don't think they would be completey made out of LEGO bricks.

Vastus and Matanui are more likey to be tan/black.

Strongus to me sounds Fire.

To be honest i would quit like next year to be all verses all , it would be chaotic and i like chaos but again i like good verses evil i really cant decide but what ever happens i already have ideas for a new animation im doing but im not revealing anything

Hopefully they'll carry on the tradition started in 2008 and release more super-large sets -- $50+ Rahi would be awesome. There seemed to be a lot (10 if I remember right!) unnamed sets, so add to that F&S and Tuma, and that's 12 large sets. Quite a bunch!

And Atrozek, I love those drawings! Reminds me -- I wonder if Gallagher will continue to draw the comics in 2009.

Just checked the set list again -- the unnamed sets are MDP 1 & 2, SHP 1, 2 & 3, and HPP 3 & 4. F&S are HPP 1 and Tuma is HPP 2.

So if we are following last year's pattern, that sounds like four regular large sets (the HPPs), two store exclusives (the MDPs), and three super-sized sets -- the SHPs. Sweet. :sweet:

I think they dropped the idea of System playsets -- I hope so at least! No idea what these things could stand for, but I think they are retailer categories rather than descriptions of the actual sets.

I have heard somewhere that you can learn some interesting things from these scans, I tried to somehow extract something with my lousy Spanish but failed to find anything interesting...The only thing I found was that these guys will play a significant role in an upcoming Bionicle movie, Fero and Skirmix will be appealing to both young and older fans because of a "little figure + a large creature" set and that they will be all released in January...

This is what F&S´ page says.

Tuma´s page says nearly nothing...

you can only see words like : "expand", "bionicle movie"...but there are 2 words that can be translated in a multiple kinds of way...

gran criatura...gran means big or great and criatura means "creature" or "being".

Strange...

No I don't think we will get anymore scans of this person, he took them down due to 'pressure' I guess.

I like system playsets, well I like the idea but not how TLC does them, If they did 'em how I would like them (good figures with good enviorments and no vehicles).

Pity... Well, it's a bit early anyway, so I am more than happy to wait for official stuffs.

I kinda liked the playsets, too-they had cool pieces and usually a mask or two for decoration, but I found that the mini-Bionicles kinda sucked. And I would much rather have a large Bionicle set with a function or two than a playset with few compatable pieces.

What I WOULD like to see is mask-packs or one of those 400-800 piece tubs for next year. Badass pieces galore.

I have mixed feelings about these new sets. One on hand, there's nothing retro about these at ALL. If anything they completely dispense with the Bionicle we all knew and loved back in 2001. I don't know what Greg was smoking when he said that 2009 would be a nostalgia trip for fans. On the other, these figures look very elemental, and I don't see too many silver armor pieces. My biggest gripe with the 2008 sets is how they all look more like transformers than biomechanical elemental spirits. These ones certainly do look like creatures of the wild, and I like that.

Even so... I just can't shake the Megabloks vibe.

I'm not getting this MB vibe everyone is but I will tell you something.

Hear no megabloks.

Speak no megabloks.

Buy no megabloks.

I might add that to my sig though .

If TLC were really going MB then they wouold have good online games, A friend of mine bought a few weird bio-rip-off sets because they was some online game or something... I have no idea . That said it is good marketing, Hey kids buy this (lame and poorly) toy and you can get OMFGBBQ lazer in a poorly made game (that even Pencoin could of done better :wink).

That said though, maybe I could make a good Bionicle fan-game? What do you guys think, should I?

If you can, by all means do.

IMO, the games for Bionicle after MNOLG have suckethed to the eleventh degree.

I'm really hoping that new innovative game style that Bink mentioned in his Blog is similar in the story-style. Or perhaps a fully rendered fighting game.

I totally agree on the No Megabloks thing, tho. The ball-transforming guys looked... okay, but they really don't hold a candle to what I'm seeing for 2009.

The nostalgia is being felt here- Not in appearance, but in style:

element backgrounds

personalized tools WITH COLOR

strange new masks

a very advanced civilization that has a primitive lifestyle.

Ah, yes... I am loving this very much.

Hopefully, we get the first series by mid-late December.

i thinik the MDP 1 & 2, SHP 1, 2 & 3, and HPP 3 & 4 are beasts (super sized), or other good guys that are big, or are beast riders like Skirmix

If there were these huge $40+ (don't forget that this is Rockoh's price) sets, then fine. But please, no vehicles. This year is chock full of'em, and they are making me sick. Huge Rahi, are what Bionicle needs.

Great drawings, Antrozek.

I agree, I don't mind one vehicle but 6 in one year is a joke. We really need more Rahi, the closest thing we have got to that was ... Ga-dunk-a

Ga-dunk-a

Ga-dunk-a

Ga-dunk-a ..., really though Gadunka was awful.

Oh, I know, right? His head piece was cool. That was about it.

But yeah... Rahi-with functions! That would make things great. I think, though that we will have battle machines and war-beasts if anything which, though strange, sound freaking awesome!

Yeah if we had vehicles like the Exo-Toa, Boxor or the Ussania, I wouldn't mind.

One thing I dont thing I dont get is that if kids want playabilty as TLC thinks then why dont sets have action features? When I got my first Bionicle, Gali, when I was a kid i thought the best bit was the punching stuff, but I wanted to be able to punch something so I bought all the ones I could, I couldn't get Tahu though (never could find him in shops). I rember getting the Tarkavas for christmas and punch them at each others.

I guess todays kids dont like punching stuff, they would rather shoot it... :cry_sad:. That said though I didn't mind the Exo-Toa shooter but when the Kanoka launchers came i didn't really like them at all.

I kinda liked the kanokas. Those rhotukas, though... I mean, they're fun if you have a lot of empty space, but aside from that, you can't use them without losing them.

The Exo- Toa's launcher was neat. We need more of that, I think. And even more functioning weaponry. I'd like to see a rahi that can just viscously swipe and tear or bite in a unique way.

But, Bunda, remember that Mata Nui is a ROCK. Otherwise, he would have the pinholes and gaps problem

The Turaga's representation of Mata Nui is a rock.

Mata Nui was described in BL8: Downfall as having nightmares since his revival.

And whoa, didn't think of that. You're right, we actually don't know if Makuta has already 'pushed' him out... maybe that was why the BOM needed him to die and be revived? Dunno how it'd work, but interesting.

-Ikk

Makuta did not plan Mata Nui's death, actually. He was surprised when he felt the universe shift, wasn't he?

And Mata Nui himself is rock giant.

He knew it might happen and factored it into the Plan. Maybe more than we know. :classic:
