Antrozek Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 by some way..the Kaxium Bikes looks like to a red version from the AKIRA bike
VBBN Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Sidorak The Hunter said: I also agree with whoever said that Skopio is a cool set, but would like to see it in a color other than red. -Sidorak- Yeah it feels like they are just reusing Axalara parts
Algernon Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 It's still a prototype; that could definitely change.
Hydrobius Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 The only way I'll be happy with Skopio completely is if they change the color scheme to either A: Tan for Skopio, Metru Blue for Driver, OR, Gunmetal for Skopio, Tan for driver. The latter would be AWESOME... I'm surprised they haven't made any gunmetal vehicles yet; they'd be awesome.
Antrozek Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 a quote from Greg: I am working on a six-part story for AMEET, the people who did the Makuta Guide for Poland last year, which will run through the six activity books they are doing for 2009 BIONICLE. It's called "The Crossing" and deals with a dangerous trek through the Black Spike Mountains and over the Dark Falls made by Gresh, Strakk and two Agori. i love how it sounds..."The Crossing"
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) CALL GUNNAR We need you to convince Greg to publish this story somewhere in English, if possible on BZP. =P EDIT: We haven't discussed a new series name, since there are only two books in 2009 and one is a movie novelization, and I doubt there will be novels in 2010. I hope the serials will fill in the role of the books at that point, instead of being the crappy fanfiction they were last year. Zarkan Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I hope the serials will fill in the role of the books at that point, instead of being the crappy fanfiction they were last year. I hope you meant "fanfiction of low quality," not "fanfiction in general," otherwise you've insulted all the writers at BZP who actually try to put effort into their stories - including me. Either way, I don't agree with you on this - I personally thought that the serials last year were extremely enjoyable.
Hydrobius Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 IMO, most of the serials last year were pretty good - specially' FoF. It just seemed like they got... I dunno, a little sloppy near the end, seeing as Greg was on such a tight schedual. *CoughDestinyWarCough*
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) I said 'crappy fanfiction', as in the kind of stories that realizes every fanboy's dream -- in the case of Bionicle, that's good Makuta and evil Takanuva galore, Spherus magna, super-Brutaka, Vezon everywhere, etc, with little regard to the coherence of the story. IMO the summer serials started out great, but all went down the gutter somewhere midways. =P BTW, I write fanfiction myself, and besides it'd be silly of me to insult a whole 'genre' simply based on its lack of canonicity. =P -Ikk Edited January 18, 2009 by Ikki o' Moopyville
Can Calyx Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 It's too bad 2010 won't have novels. I can't recall if there is a 2010 film planned or not- anyone know for sure?
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Nothing we've heard of, but if sales are high on this one, it's not unlikely at all. -Ikk
Bfahome Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Krika and Chirox are the best Makuta sets. Especially Chirox. And I have all but Bitil and Antroz. Both of those looked sucky. Chirox is just so regal and Krika is just so creepy. ~Bunda dude me too ._. Except I like Vamprah more than Chirox.
Strakk Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 It's too bad 2010 won't have novels. I can't recall if there is a 2010 film planned or not- anyone know for sure? Yeah they started to plan another trilogy (2009-2011). I think it will depend on how much will B4 sell though.

Honestly, while I realize that the serials were getting pretty weird by the end, I didn't mind at all. Maybe it's because 2008 was such an epic year that I expected things to get crazy and messed up (in a good way, I mean). With a whole universe falling apart, I'd think that out of the ordinary things would be a lot more possible. I dunno, maybe I'm just a lot more acceptive of weird plot twists, but to me the story managed to stay very coherent, despite all the weirdness.
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Aye, I see your points... I guess a part of my dislike stems from it being so vastly different from the original feel of Bionicle. The immense amount of story events that got little coverage contributed to what in the big picture looked more like something from Hitchhiker's Guide. That's awesome, and chaos is cool in any story -- but I think the alternate stuff went over the top. =P That, and more focus on individual events would've been great. Having said that, the early parts of BIA were some of my favorite ever in Bionicle. No matter how nice it was seeing Paradise, I really wish the Mazeka-Vultraz conflict had reached a greater climax more in line with what was established at the start of the serial. =/ -Ikk

I like Dreams of Destruction and early '08 serials - they were like real short stories, not something mady by fans' demand. I personally imagined BiA ending as more.. dramatic. Something like Mazeka mortally wounds Vultraz, but they both get destroyed by the storm or something like that. Endings of late '08 seriales looked like placeholders.

Avohkahs' Sparks Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Is it just me or does Thornatus have a Thornax flail attached to the cockpit?
Sidorak The Hunter Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Is it just me or does Thornatus have a Thornax flail attached to the cockpit? I think I see what you're referring to - the black zigzag line that starts at the cockpit and continues to the top of the box, right? If so, then I don't think that's a flail, looks more like box art. If you're talking about something else, I don't know. -Sidorak-
VBBN Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 It looks to me like it's stronius's weapon.
Bundalings Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Chirox is awesum because his arms are longer than Axalara T9. Seriously, go try it.Bad proportions ON! *tries* @_@ I own Chirox, and I had the chance to get an hold of the Axalara in a toyshop where it was exposed out of the box. When stretched, Chirox's arms are as tall as Icarax (just tried it, BTW), who is much smaller than T9.Shakar Dunno what Chirox you used, but mine's wingspan was twice as tall as Icarax and about a quarter again Axalara's length. I personally thought that the serials last year were extremely enjoyable. If very, very chaotic. dudeme too ._. Except I like Vamprah more than Chirox. phale opinion At least you like the second best most. =P At Bunda:2) Spick-itt ~Bunda
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I think there's some confusion over whether the original poster meant the entire wingspan or just one arm. -Ikk
Brickthing Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I meant Chirox stretched out weapon-tip to weapon-tip is longer that Axalara rocket exhaust to nose tip.
Bfahome Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I meant Chirox stretched out weapon-tip to weapon-tip is longer that Axalara rocket exhaust to nose tip. I don't doubt it. >_>
