Then he begins writing the books, and actually working on the story team. Then he tells the story team the suggestions of the fans on that fansite, and basically lets BZP conrol a lot of minor story details. Finally, some illiterate fucktard starts bashing him, and makes him so distraught that he leaves the fansite, which he's been doing hundreds of favors for, (Not to mention answering every little retarded question that illiterate four-year olds ask him.). All because of this idiot (And I agree that his lack of spelling adds to his idiocy. )That is fukken' low. Really fukken' low, man. I hope Greg comes back soon. Or people stop expecting him to be the greatest writer ever, and then diss him for not being. It' simple retardation going on right there. He writes children's fiction, for God's sake! He's not J.R.R. Tolkien! (Although at least Greg can write about other things than walking. XD)

XD) Minus the swearing, I agree with you, some people take Greg for granted, and make selfish expectations that a little thought would show to be unreasonable, and then they bash him when those ridiculous expectations aren't met. Greg should come here for a while, or at least read this topic for a bit, because although we don't always like with the things that he does with the story, we understand why he needs to do it, and we appreciate him as a whole for the amazing work he's done for BIONICLE and it's fans.

Although we should definitely not expect Greg to do the extra work for us that he does now, his extra work and presence on BZP does matter, because it helps us understand more of the story, and more importantly, why the story is the way it is. I don't want him to be here for us to try and control the storyline, that would be pointless for Greg. I'd like him to be here so that we can offer our opinions and constructive criticism more readily if he wants them, and so that he can help us understand his reasons for doing what he does in the story.

I have obligations here -- there are people I have agreed to do interviews with, there are people I have agreed to help with school projects, and I am not going to blow them off. I am also not planning to leave BZP forever, as that would be penalizing a lot of people who have never done anything negative toward me and do not deserve that. What I am going to do is take a break from active participation. Part of it, frankly, is because of that topic, part of it is for work reasons, and part is also that I need to get a little perspective on this site. I have made the mistake, probably from being on here too long, of thinking of the members as my friends rather than as what they are, fans of BIONICLE (and often fickle ones at that). So seeing people bash my work -- the thing I make my living off of and have been doing professionally for over 20 years -- and then seeing some of those same people turn around and send PMs full of questions they expect answers to right away rubbed me the wrong way. That's my fault, for expecting regard beyond what people feel for Wikipedia or BS01 or Google. So I need a break, like any other member might, and am taking one -- that's all. This is not goodbye to BZP forever or something -- it's a hiatus. As for Spirit of Vahi's comments, please do not bash him here. He is entitled to his opinion, just like I am entitled to frankly not care what it is. As the old saying goes, "I don't want everyone to like me, and would think less of myself if some people did." I am not shutting down my PM box, and I will check it periodically in case anything really urgent comes in. But I won't be answering non-urgent PMs or blogging or posting in topics for the time being. Hopefully, by the time I come back, there will be more movie news or some such thing to share. After all, we won't be doing books after next year any more, and I wouldn't be surprised if they decided the serials should be pulled...would definately merit a stress out attack like this. Unless they want to keep him for movie scripts, but who can tell?

There are a couple of older peoples on BZP as well, and they wouldn't appreciate being talked to like a kid, so Greg probably tries to avoid treating anybody like a kid. Of course, knowing that a lot of them are kids, but there's no way to tell the kids apart from the adults is depressing in itself. I think Greg should rethink his PM answering system, and redirect the pointless dupe questions to an index of answered questions or a BIONICLE wiki. It would save him a lot of time and teach a lot of kids to stop treating him like an answer-vending machine.

Firstly, I'm REALLY sorry about everything that happened - I know that most of those kids showed you nothing but immaturity and disrespect, but... most of this site isn't like that. We really do appreciate what you do, whether they say they like you or not. Now, I'm not trying to convince you to come back, rather, I just wanted to let you know that there are a lot more of us who CARE than those who do not. =) Second... I wanted to let you know that, even though I have never really talked to you personally (I've only pmed you every now and then) I've always considered you a friend, and I thought - think - that you're a pretty cool guy. It always ment a lot to me, at least, that you always went out of your way to answer all those questions... write the serials and put so much in them for us... I can't speak for anyone else, but it hit home with me. Moreover, just know that regardless of what the rest of the site here does... you have a friend in me. =) That being said, again, I'm not trying to convince you to come back - I just think that you DO deserve a break (you've been working like crazy lately, from what I can tell, you need it) and what they said was... sad. Very sad. I always felt like I had a friend in you, so I hope that some other people will realize that too. You're a great guy, Greg, and we don't want to lose you. I know you're not gone forever, but... I still feel bad. Well, hope you enjoy your break, you sure earned it. Kepp up the good work on the serials, too, if you plan to keep doing them. Least we know that he will be coming back for sure, now... I still feel bad for him, though; and the senario that InnerRayg suggusted might not be far wrong tat this point - he DOES seem stressed like hell...
