OMG!!! So it's true!!! I had a bad feeling about this..... :oh3::oh3: .....well let's just say he's having a vacation....like how we get vacation from school....

But I wonder how long it would take until the next chapters of RotGB, RoS and EotS....?? a few weeks??

~Toa Mata Nui~

He'll continue to write for LEGO, he just won't be on BZP.

As for what I think... he's not an outstanding writer, but his writing kept me interested when I was 9, so he's doing his job right.

...okay, guys, does it honestly matter if Greg is on BZP, Eurobricks, or wherever else? He does not walk on water, and I doubt his presence here will have a significant impact on the Bionicle storyline to come.

While I do respect Greg for how he puts up with people like those and the partial control he's given us over some aspects of the storyline, I find it hilarious how some members worship him as a god.

Well, since he controls almost everything in the BIONICLE universe, he is like a god in that respect. Therefore the members who are TOO dangerously obsessed with BIONICLE do see him as their god.

(Even though we all know that "Weird Al" Yankovic is the REAL god . . .)

After all, we won't be doing books after next year any more

Thank goodness! All the books do is waste Lego's money. They could just as easily update the website or spend time making the comics GOOD.

And I'm glad Greg left, he doesn't deserve the stupid kids on BZP constantly taking him for granted. He needs higher authority and respect than the members on BZPower are giving him. I wish BZPower wouldn't be so storyline excited either. ><

Also Weird Al is not a god.

That or making the sets good.

The books have still been slightly profitable for LEGO, otherwise they would've been axed straight away. However, the declining trends of profit tell them that it's going to be better to stop books soon, but not yet.

IMO, the comics are good. Just like the books, they're written to promote a set of toys to 8 year olds, so the story needs to be simple, and most sets need to get a decent amount of "panel-time". And the artwork is brilliant for a toy-line promoting comic, although they're 2006-2008 rule of not showing sets that weren't avaliable for purchase that year really let a few things down. (Turaga Vakama, Turaga Dume, NO additional decent-looking Matoran!)

BZP is about BIONICLE, and story is talked about the most because the sets can only really be discussed twice a year, whilst the story continuously gets updated all throughout.

Just to distract y'all a bit... ;)

Does anybody remember the very first BIONICLE comic? I just found a very big pile of that LEGO Adventures (I think it was called that way in other countries) and decided to scan at least the three-part BIONICLE comic.

Sorry that it's in Russian, I'll make a translation next week, if Spawn won't distract me again)

I've never seen that before...

So I'm really bummed about no more books. =/

I really enjoy them... and Bara Magna has so much potential... oh well. Maybe they'll start the books up again later, if the movie series does well.

I remember that thing, I wish I could find the old pages that were already translated.

Also, a thought, or rather, the wisp of a hope....

The 'legends' logo on the canisters are very circular. I got to thinking, and I was wondering if these might indicate an included mini-CD? I remember the old Toa Mata ones, and I think they're awesome at getting people into the line (I know that's what got me into it). Would be great if they came with bonus story content, or perhaps they enable you to use new characters in the Glatorian Arena game? That would rock.

That's good, although I though the third panel translated more accurately to "The canister asplodes to reveal an evil axe-chinned doppelganger of Kongu!"

Stick it on BS01 and see what happens.

It's already been translated. However not being able to read Russian, I can't attest to the accuracy of it.

bionicle_2001_comic_translation.jpg

You know, you translated it pretty accurately :D

Tyranide, can you translate that? Shine thinks it'll make a great page.

I will do it today or tomorrow, I think. There's not much text here, so it'd be quite easy.

But it depends on how much my Photoshop will lag...

I remember that thing, I wish I could find the old pages that were already translated.

I think I saw a very old topic on BZP with this first part, but nothing about second and third.

Just uploaded all other scans...

That's funny how Lewa got dirty from the mud...LOL!!! But some of the scenery in Le-Koro (particularly the villages) are pretty good to add on BS01....maybe those pics can be cannon....???(if they aren't already)

*sigh* It's too bad that they won't be doing Bionicle books anymore - they were easily my favorite way to experience the storyline. Oh well, at least we'll probably still have serials. :classic:

I think so because many users on BZPower were off-topic/spamming in the OGD and it was closed before....but I think it was a few months back....oh well...time to wait.....

I have no idea...or clue who closed it the last time...all I knew that it was closed due to over spamming/off-topic/arguments going on various subjects...and it was closed for a week back then....

Wasn't it Pencoin who got the OGD closed that time?

Only once for a short period, because he kept posting illegal info.

It was closed for like a week I think, due to spamishness.

The more recent closing was caused by people going off-topic too much, even after the topic got renamed into The Official Greg Dialogue topic. Pencoin's closing was halfway through last year, and was caused by him posting spoilers under the username of Zesk.

On another subject, I just discovered the purpose of clone-brands like MegaBloks! They're made so you can tell on online auctions if the person selling has any idea of the worth of their LEGO! If the person has clone-brands mixed in, then you're likely more likely to get good deals, because the seller doesn't know about rarer pieces that could be in the mix, and it looks like a box of miss-matched junk to the eyes of a casual bidder. Also, the clone-brands make it more fun to sort out the pieces once you get them!

From my most recent auction, I just scored Lewa, Kopaka, Gali, 2 Bohrok, 2 Rahkshi and 13.5 Mctoran, as well as some normal LEGO and some other stuff all for the equvilent of around $20 USD! :classic:
