JINZONINGEN73 Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 New mold would be nice, but since we will never get mask packs again, and we have just been given a plethora of new parts in canister sets alone, I think it's a pretty clever thing to do. I like the idea that I only have to buy one set and be able to have two masks for MOCs. Yah, if the mask packs are really, truly gone forever... then jam them sets with recolor masks at least. I like how Lego's not blowing time, money and resources on "ammo" packs or rubber slugs with hardly any connection points. There is NO substitute for what those mask packs were. Kinda' sad to see that the new snowflakes are the same one from the winter set. I really liked the idea of black ones like in the prototype pics. Nice seeing a set in classic red. What a WIN figure. Good colors, new ankle armor, a fire sword that finally doesn't suck... awesome. And yah, Mata Nui's been done justice. I prefer the yellow over gold any day, Absolutely LOVE the strange trans effect in the staff of Vastus. He's pretty awesome too.

I am proud to say that these canister sets are the best-looking(for the most part) since 2001. Stronius wins this for me. Mata Nui comes close second, Ackar and Gelu third, Vastus almost third too, and Kiina can stay in 8th.

The Crazy One Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I fell with better pics, i will give my thoughts on the new Glatorian sets. Kiina : Nice desing, torso is interesting, nice staff and mask and the new upper leg and arm pieces are beutiful. She is quite an average set though, nothing to flashy but i like her and she is worth the money. 7/10 Gelu : Ah, at beautiful set, lovely mask and weapon, and an iceicle on his back, tres bien! 8/10 Ackar : Ahh, the pies du resitance, my second favorite, beauitiful recolour, Tahu would be proud, and the sword, best thinkg for Bionicle in years. 9.5/10 Stronius : The big bad killin' machine. Loveing the club and new armour, he works so well, bit short though. 8/10 Mata Nui : .............................*wet myself*...................................... 10/10 Vastus : Beautiful. Mask is amzing, the new tube with the recolor, shame about the Hordika legs though. 9/10

Gelu is a cookie cutter, and his looks don't emanate a character. =/ And I just hate Vastus. It seems that either people are undoubtedly in love with him, or absolutely hate him. He's so ugly.
