InnerRayg Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Hey guys, don't forget to vote in the final Certavus poll to decide how he looks http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=302365 Personally I favor Entry 10 for being more original in design and lending well to a "Grand Master" sort of look.
Matsuoka Nui Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 In the voting polls...Does it require to leave a reason who you voted and why?? or can it be anonymous??

I favour Entry 10 and 6 because they don't use Metus' helmet. I don't think Certavus should be a tap dancer. It's better than a Metus clone though. In the voting polls...Does it require to leave a reason who you voted and why?? or can it be anonymous?? Nope, the comments are just there to influence who you pick.
Makuta'sdarkslave Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Personally I favor Entry 10 for being more original in design and lending well to a "Grand Master" sort of look. I agree. It's a great idea. Samurai powah. o.O A few entries look a lot like the one I was going to enter (thought I read all the rules, found I didn't, all the pictures had major backgrounds (took 'em outside int he snow)). ~Makuta'sdarkslave
Zip Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 It may not use a Metus helmet, but neither did Bunda's. And honestly, just because it has Metus's helmet doesn't make it Metus. Would you call Ackar Berix? #10 looks ridiculous as a smart fighter in a barren world. What's he going to do, tap-dance dodge? The only thing that looks oriental is the hat. I like this as a MOC, but not as Certavus. People need to realize that this is not a "best-looking MOC" contest. It's one to decide which has the best character to fit Certavus.

Would you call Ackar Berix? At least Ackar and Berix's helmets look distinctly different because of their colours. As for Bunda's entry, there are to many colours on it. People also need to realise that this isn't a popularity contest either. I really hope that one day there will be a completely anonymous contest like the ones that have happened here on EB (No names on photos, photos all hosted in the same place).
Bfahome Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Metus clone I didn't see any entries using an Agori body… I don't see the point of the "vote for something that doesn't have a Metus helmet" thing. Only one of them is going to win, so it's not like we're going to have 5 Certavi with the same helmet.
Brickthing Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 If a Certavus with a Metus helmet wins, then there are two significant characters with the same face. And storyline-wise if a normal Glatorian can have a unique helmet, then Certavus certainly should have one too. That is why Certavus must have a custom helmet.
Bfahome Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Or Certavus could be a humble guy and have a generic helmet. Or Metus could have taken Certavus' helmet and is using it. Or Metus could have modeled his helmet after Certavus'. Or Metus isn't a Glatorian.
---Vertea--- Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Or Certavus could be a humble guy and have a generic helmet.Or Metus could have taken Certavus' helmet and is using it. Or Metus could have modeled his helmet after Certavus'. Or Metus isn't a Glatorian. Or even the fact that Glatorian-no matter how classy- have little choice in their armour. Beggers can't be choosers here. Most likely, the Glatorian masks we see are only a fraction of the possible designs left over from when the poplation was alive, but there still probably isn't much choice. Look at the vehicles(though I'm happy to say they are reversible)-they use the same masks all through the boxed set line.
Brickthing Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 But all of the significant Glatorian and Agori have unique helmets, and there is the possibility for Certavus to have one too, so I don't see why he should be stuck with a Metus helmet.

So, Ackar and Berix aren't significant just because they have the same helment design?
---Vertea--- Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 So, Ackar and Berix aren't significant just because they have the same helment design? But they are! ...At least Ackar is-he's the really old guy that tutors Mats, so I think he's a VERY significant character. Masks are just masks. Let's leave it at that before we end up killing each other over what's okay and not okay to be a mask. And another factor: It's really hard to come up with anything to use as a mask on the Glatorian heads that does not look absolutely weird. So.... Any updates from the world of Bara Magna yet aside from those tidbits Greg just gave us?
hewkii9 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 So.... Any updates from the world of Bara Magna yet aside from those tidbits Greg just gave us? What tidbits? I haven't had any tidbits!
---Vertea--- Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 What tidbits? I haven't had any tidbits! His recent Blog on BZP. It says that we will have a comic just for Hydraxon in one of the Big volumes, as well as another big comic for Bara Magna. Then he's working on another AMEET guide for Bara Magna .

I voted #3, Bundalings. I'm partial to #2 as well for some reason. I'm not sure what people are seeing in #6 and 10 (they're nice builds, just not Certavus-y) Edited April 18, 2009 by Icesaber
Toa Rodimus Ignika Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 ^ Pretty much all the news for this day. Vertea, are you by any chance, a member of TFW2005?
---Vertea--- Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) ^ Pretty much all the news for this day. Vertea, are you by any chance, a member of TFW2005? YES!!!! Did you see the new footage?! It's epic!!!!! My name there is the same as here. I'm only really active in the Movie board. I should post more, but I don't have much to say until ROTF comes out. @ Icesaber: I voted three too. It just looks so cool. The other more 'popular' ones just don't appeal to me. Y'know, It's funny-There was only one vote on my entry and that was me .(yes I voted my own, and yes, I did vote for others.) Edited April 18, 2009 by ---Vertea---
Icesaber Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) Oh yeah, I might mention I have increased my '09 collection to include Metus and Malum. I already had Berix and Atakus. Metus looks so cool. And his helm, when lying on the ground with the axle pointing down, reminds me of a clawed hand. Do any of you recommend Zesk? The helm looks cool and he looks nice standing there, but I'm not a fan of posing problems. If I were to get him, he would be my last Agori (not counting the vehicles) as I have no interest in Tarduk or Raanu. I wish Malum's armor on his upper arm lay across the side rather than the front. It looks awkward. EDIT: Can anyone tell me why the board keeps logging me out when I quit? I've got the Remember Me box checked. If I close all windows but don't quit Safari (I don't plan to switch to Firefox, so don't tell me that!), it keeps me logged in, but not when I quit. It's never done this before. I have the same problem with MLN, but I don't know why. I would recommend Zesk just because his helmet is too cool to pass up now and those tan legs will come in handy. Mostly for that mask, though. It's epic win.
Brickthing Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 So, Ackar and Berix aren't significant just because they have the same helment design? No, their helmets are still unique because they're different colours.

Brickthing Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Jetfire- "Itchy, wretched rust in my aft/megablocks/big behind!" That made me laugh. It seems the of all the Bzpower entries, only Bunda's seems superior. The customness of Bunda's is nice, as well as the weapon, but the colour scheme is so whacked up. It's white, black and blue down the bottom, white black and gunmetal in the middle, and the head and crystals make it white, blue, light blue and trans-blue up the top.

The Gunmetal really throws it off. I'd rather have Cholie's or Brickeens win this one. [-The Alchemyst-]
