What? So Stronius is only named because he accidently downed a baterra? That's kinda pathetic...

How should second place have been disqualified? :look:

I agree with you that prototype pieces are way better, because an unreleased set is only rare till it's released, as opposed to unique one-of-a-kind parts that will always be rare.

I think that the contest was a good one, but it seemed that LEGO was looking for one kind of Mech in particular, which made it a shot in the dark as to whether you'd make that kind or not. :sceptic:

Well, when it's a store exclusive or hard to find, is still a good prize. Imagine the Kardas Dragon as a prize? You get the idea.

Also, Stronius got a name for being a Special Forces Skrall, if I remember correctly.

Should have been disqualified because of the Malum in the pic. In previous contests, sets (or other MOCs) in the entry pic (even if it's just a foot or something) will get you instazapped. Not sure how Tufi missed that.

If you mean silver, black, and entirely bland, then yes. That seems to be what Lego was looking for. They probably dumped all the entry names (those who met the criteria) into a pot and just pulled one out 'cause they all look the same. Either that or they chose the one named after their favorite color. (I'm glad there's a brown one in there too, but I don't know if it deserved to place. It's definitely the best out of the top three, but there are probably a dozen other excellent MOCs that utterly stomp the top winners.)

Am I being mean? I should stop now.

Edit @ above: Pretty sure "special forces" is a subspecies. You wouldn't be named for something like that.

Actually, I do believe some height proof was required so that they knew it qualified

Yeah, something built by Lego in the entry isn't allowed.

Wow. Something that should have been disqualified won.

But not in the entry picture.

~Bunda

Yeah... well in all honesty, I DO think that they chose some... less than the best, as far as choices go. Like that black cloud or black smoke or whatever. THAT was winner-worthy.

It's a great prize because it's a free set that has limited exclusiveness, but it's not at good as a prototype part. That's all. :classic:

You're not being mean. I too agree that the winners weren't the best MOCs, but they were the best MOCs that fit LEGOs criteria (which was evidently more specific than what we were told). All three winners were bulky, one-eyed, hunchbacked mechs that all had a similar chest and lower foot structure. How we could've guessed that that's what LEGO wanted is just luck.

While they might not have been the "best" MOCs, you can't argue that it wasn't what they were looking for.

They judged it :hmpf:

Whatever, I guess they found what they needed.

EDIT: Offensive post removed making this sadly a double post. :(

At least the community is involved with LEGO so its not all bad. We're making a difference.

You know, you're right! We should stop complaining and enjoy just being a small part of a great thing. :classic:

If you think about it, since you don't know what Lego is looking for, there is no way you could judge which entry was "best" for the contest. When we understand the specifics it might turn out these really were the best entries.

I agree with that, it's just a tad bit annoying that they couldn't have been even more specific so we would've all been able to give them a more suitable MOC to consider. :sceptic:

Hey, Greg, I have a question for you. Who is the Traitor?

Thanks in advance.

It's Skrall.

Wow, that was easy. Which Skrall?

hehe.png

Goshdarnit, Greg. Just tell me!

Needless to say, we are no longer friends.

BTW, loving the boxart. Each set has it's own variation, unlike the monotonous Karda Nui backgrounds we got last year. But I guess those showcased the sets, and that's what they were for, so... eh.

That's what he should say instead of "can't answer it."

Can you imagine?

"Hey mr. greg, I want to know the ends of bionkle. Tell me pleeeeease :beg:"

Edit: wait no you didn't believe that did you oh carp

I had more faith in your intellect, Neaku. hehe.png

You guys are so gullible.

Still curious on what exactly the 53 winners are supposed to do in the storyline. They not-so-great, but w/e.

So, Bunda simply typed that up?........ Anyways, it seems the Great Beings have a way to harvest EP without the boomboom properties... And that there is more than meets the eye with the entire war, planet and the parts....

The set designers must have been judging based on how well they could use the models for whatever purpose they have in mind, because if they were going by MOC quality there's absolutely no excuse for these kind of results.

If they were looking for something so specific they should have told us to put loads of silver on it and give it one eye, or whatever criteria.

Also-big circular thing in the torso. That's apparently imperative.
