I'm glad to hear it. It's about time we see the whole thing without cutting off suddenly!

Now, to continue this 'epic'...

Zesk watched the slaughter with an analytical eye. He watched the matoran-looking guy's put themselves back together as their life-counters reset and the two were teleported out of the battle.

'serves them right.'

Zesk decided to head the opposite direction, away from the Glatorian warriors. They would finish off the rest of his competition for him.

He would need to meet up with Vorox to warn him and see if they could get any strong warriors on their side.

-----------------------------

Tuma and Skrall laughed as they traversed the jungle-fire barrier.

"It's a pity all of the losers' parts are teleported out with them," said Skrall. "I really liked those mask-helmet things. Tuma, do you know if they are kanohi or what?"

"What's a kanohi?"

Suddenly there was a rumble as a new foe came to meet them. With an entrance of flame and glory, Raanu and Malum rose from the lava now issuing from the ground.

Tuma was gone before the fire-eaters even took a step forward.

Suddenly Raanu looked intimidating with his inferno helm and was dwarfed by Malum who now looked even tougher. Skrall charged his saw and blade and went for the attack...

i wanted to do something like that Vertea does of that little EPIC fan fiction:

"Sir, something has falled to the sand lands of Vorox." said a little figure with fire surronding his face, a giant and muscular red figure take closer to the little figure and said "So..something has falled? Raanu?" he Asked.

"Yes sir, Our leader is out waiting you to show us what Vorox has found" said Raanu, "Well, i cant let Gresh wait for us, no?" he said, "No master Malum" replied Raanu, and then Malum And Raanu down stairs crossing the lava to see what Vorox found.

"Finally you come, i was getting...impacient" has said Gresh, a spiked figure with twin swords, Vorox, a scorpion like figure has out of the sand with speed, he with a rough and snaker voice said "I foound thiss when i wass...at ma laandss". "Common you shit, Show us what you found! i hate when there's much hot in the air!" said Gresh pressing his Twin acid swords, two little figures was battling, there was Tarduk and Zesk, they really hate the one to the other.

"Stop fight!!! danmit!" shouted Gresh making his red eyes shine, The Both small warriors calmed down, and one being insulted among teeth to other one they went towards his leaders, Gresh and Vorox, "Well...this is what i found" said Vorox, he opened a little box Where in there was a mask, tape-worm the rare human-like figure marked in the way, three spikes in the top, with lines that were stressing the sides of the mask.

"What the hell this could be danmit?" asked Gresh, "Hmm, we would take this to Skrall, im sure that he can know" Suggested Malum, When they raised the sight Gresh already was to a few meters of them shouting "for What yo're waiting!? Are they going to come or what?!".

The three evil Glatorian compained with his Impulse Warriors get walking to reach the earth Tribes villages to talk with Skrall, but they Unknown, that what that mask got inside, will destroy his tirany...

to continue DANMIT

Hm... sonce this should really be a topic limited to actual set discussion rather than passing time 'till there is something to discuss, I am thinking we should just make another topic for our epic bantering. Not a topic devoted to one epic, but to any that present themselves-interconnecting, or completely separate. If I may have the permission, I would like to start that topic.

Now that I've had more time to look at the pics, I guess I'll post my opinions of them.

Overall – They don't look bad. Some of the new parts look very nice. I was hoping for new limb pieces but I'm not mourning over the lack of them (we'll see in summer, though). I like the new hands' look, (I'm hoping they open and close, though they probably don't. More like a KKII hands redux), but I think they could've saved a mold by using the Hydraxon-style hand, which functions and has a build to it (maybe they thought it was too complicated?). I wouldn't have minded the old hand pieces either (the pre-08 ones). I like how the launchers are arm-attached on some guys, though I don't really care for a zamor launcher. I like the spiked zamor. I hope those spikes are Viking horns in holes in the zamors. And while I'm at launchers, I'm glad they have some form of non-launcher weapon. Very happy to see that. Some of their names are tolerable for me, and some are just weird (Gresh!!!).

Skrall – I like his weapons. I hope the red pieces are removable. He's a little on the thin side but I don't mind (adds to his thin hunchbacked look, sort of like Smeagol). The shield's not bad (is that a sticker?). His parts do look a bit slapped on to me on some places.

Gresh – First off, I hate the name. I like his shield/blade/board/whatever he's holding. I liked his original mask but I don't like the newer version. Too KKII-ish. I don't like his body gap, or the claws on the thigh. I was hoping the Nuparu Inika claws would stay, so there would be another color for it, but I'm disappointed they were taken out. Another issue is the monkey-arms thing. But on the bright side, I'm glad that this is abundant in recolors. Overall, looks like a knightish figure (perhaps too much with his new mask).

Tarix – Another bad name. Other than that, I like the axes, the body could use more work, and I'm not sure how I feel about the spikes on his shoulder. The blue and gold go together here, and the arms are again too long. He/she looks pretty noble to me.

Strakk – That is one sweet axe. I like the color scheme, and all those light blue/white pieces, and I like the look of that mask.

Vorox – TAN!!! I also like the tail (could've used a different color than silver), though the weapon is redundant. I think I see new armor on his legs, and I'm glad they came out with a one-color three-toed Piraka foot. He looks pretty cool to me

Malum – Color scheme looks good to me. I like his claw-things, except for their coloring. The Carapar armor gives it a good bulky look, but I'm afraid that it's going to be too hollow. I don't mind the feet on the shoulders, and I think this guy looks like a nice, bulky warrior.

Tarduk – I'm disappointed the Kardatoran design is being reused, since it's so simple, but it doesn't look bad (apart from thinness). Tarduk looks nice, like an evil, mutant Matoran or whatever it is.

Berix – This one looks good, too, with a unique mask. I like the sword, though I think the Chronicler's Staffs should be medium or bright blue, since I can't see any other gold on him/her. Also, is that bright blue?

Ataku – The weapons are nice, and the mask looks exotic, but not bad.

Raanu – Yeah, this one doesn't look bad either (nice shield-thing). And keetorange Mata feet!

Metus – I really like the snowflake shield, and the head looks recolored, too. This guy is probably at the top of my list for these Matoran or whatever they are. Mask isn't bad, either.

Zesk – I really like the Rahi-appearance, as well as the unique mask. More tan is good, of course. Not much else to say, like the other ones...

Tuma – I'm indifferent to this guy. The mask I like (Nidhikimuch?), and his body looks solid from what I can see, but other parts look slapped on (the feet on the shoulders and thighs). The name doesn't help, either.

Fero and Skirmix – Can't see much of the little guy, but he doesn't look bad (mostly judging from the weapon, since that and the mask is really the only difference between him and the other ones). I like the dragon's head, but the rest of him looks too skinny.

Look what I just found, I searched cryoshell in google. It's from the blog of the company Advanced who helped develop BIONICLE http://blog.advance.dk/?p=304 Here is an article on BIONICLE and Advance, just so you know who they are: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...mposite-340.htm Also, i have something important to say about "The Storm" Look at the cartoon network page (this site has given us so much :) ) Put your cursor over the first icon for the game, and let it sit. See that the icon looks like the codrex, and that some green thing pulses out from it? Well, I think that this is the storm! And, here is an extracted pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/iLego94/stuff/image112.jpg

Cool, huh?

I just found this on BZP!!!

A few questions on 2009, though I'm not sure you can answer:

1. A guy over here says you've confirmed we have a new book-series for '09. Is this true?

1a. If so, do you have a name chosen? (I recommend "BIONICLE Odysseys.")

2. Tarix looks rather unfeminine for a blue set, though I suppose it's wouldn't be a first. Still, in a new universe with new rules, is there any possibility that each elemental tribe might contain both genders?

3. I've heard that the 2009 universe wasn't created by the Great Beings. Is this true?

3a. If not, is it possible we'll get to learn of some new pantheon of beings?

3b. Is there any possibility that next year's setting is the Great Being's universe? It's been described as having caverns of ice and hot forges, and you've said there are many different environments in next year's location. (Plus the backgrounds of the '09 sets look very elemental.)

4. Are you planning on having a good deal of mysticism in next year's story? (ie: "The Heavens," reverence of the elements, astrology, things like Vakama's Sacred Fire, etc.)

Anyways, I love the appearance of the sets.

Kudos to the set-designers on that. (Especially Skrall and Strakk!)

1) Haven't said anything of the kind. I really doubt they will bother with a new series name, since there are only two books in '09. Two is not much of a series.

2) Tarix is not female, which is why he does not look female. This is not the Matoran universe, so Matoran universe rules do not apply.

3) Correct

3a) No, we are not dealing on that scale of power. It's sort of like watching, say, a Pirates movie -- do they stop and get into who created the Earth during the story?

3b) Sorry, I can't go into this kind of detail

4) Nope. 2009 is about practical people dealing with serious problems ... they really don't have time to worry about the mystical and the intangible.

4. Well I mean more like in 2001- It included all of those things just as aspects of the culture, but they didn't really play an overly important part. Just little details thrown in.

4) Based on what I have seen and written, no -- we are dealing with a very different culture here, and we didn't want to just redo 2001 in a different location.

Thank you so much, Greg.

I sure hope that does not include plot twists such as MN=MU, the Plan, Red Star, etc...

-Ikk

What do you mean?

Posted
That.

-Ikk

It would suck indeed, but from this, what can we figure for the story?

Facts:

Tarix is a DUDE

The lineup will be mixed, but will not be 3 vs. 3

"practical people dealing with serious problems"... what are these serious problems?

It's completely new and unknown.

Like Neon Genesis Evangelion?

My idea: Oh man the crops are failing, our villiage will die, The ice is melting were all gonna die. I know lets all fight each other to save are villiages, yipee. Fight fight fight. Enter Mata-nui "Where am i?" Boom Mat is attack "You can't do that im GOD!", "lol nub" says everyone else. Then To prove it Mat decides to help everyone. "IT turns out it was actally evil men behind the real crisis of your universe. Lets go and fight em! Fight Fight Fight. Thanks for helping us Mat. KTHXBI! Mat then leaves with some characters in a rocket. cue next film.

Wonderful.

I'm not worried about the MU specifically, since we already know that it is MN. I was referring to core mysteries and plot twists in that style, which is probably the best thing about Bionicle, IMO.

-Ikk

Woah, woah - who said anything about plot twists? All Greg said was that there would not be mysticism like in 2001 - but that doesn't mean that the story won't have big changes in plot and other kinds of mysteries. I think it would be really cool if part of the story focused on mysterious disapearances of warriors or something else, which leads up to the discovering of a great evil that could threaten the entire new universe - and the MU as well.

When you think about it, 2002 didn't really have any mysticism either, so I'm not automatically judging it based on that.

It did have mysterious disappearances, though.

Now that I think about it, it might be cool to see an NGE based Bionicle story arc.

On second thought, if there is a Kaworu-esque character, it might be hard to explain to the target audience.

Yeah - 2002 was more Sci-Fi like, in direct contrast to 2001.

yeah.. I liked 2001 for it's mysticality and mysterie. It's when it got more on the robo-side that I felt less intrigued. See, it has to balance nicely. In Karda Nui, we had machines in a completely un-mechanical setting, which did not work well. We need some semblance of familiarity and we need things like ruins with unexplained origins to keep the awe. Something like SotC.

I think 2008 worked really well. We had the Codrex which was a machine yet really mysterious.
