Tram looks nice, wish the wheels were fully covered up though like the three previous trams. Wish the tracks were tiled up or a new mold but eh it's better than nothing.

Looking at the new jungle sets, Lego has done a great job with the new animals. Those crocs look great in olive green (a shame the junior croc isn't also the same colour). Great to see Johnny Thunder back and showing up the other minifigures in the sets as to how a true explorer should look!

A bit frustrating that, rather than putting the focus on these wonderful areas of the planet and providing plenty of foliage to create these habitats etc, Lego has to always include such huge abrasive vehicles. Red pandas will become even more endangered with those quad bikes driving around the forest!

I much prefer Playmobil's Wiltopia theme when it comes to showcasing wildlife exploration. However, I won't complain that Lego now seem to be introducing more diverse animals, including younger animals.

Safari Park subtheme next year with smaller vehicles please, Lego!

The Jungle Sets look pretty good. Just wish we could get just the animals with Sidebuild without the vehicles. Not really interested in those at all (even if they are honestly well done too).

I agree. Quickly you build up a whole fleet of vehicles to explore a tiny patch of terrain with a handful of animals. I would love to see more focus on the locations and the biodiversity, even though I agree the vehicle builds look good.

Totally agree and I popped into the City discussion to share a similar sentiment. I was ok with the balance for the Africa subtheme since those builds made enough sense for the terrain, but I was really hoping we'd see more jungly builds leaning into ruins and things like the last jungle subtheme.

Johnny seems out of his element without much to actually explore!

Agreed wiht lifeofplastic and clone Opatra. Jungle subtheme feels like deforestation to me. More foliage would be great than vehicles

bad way to teach kids!

I love Johnny Thunder so it's amazing to see him back. The new animal moulds are great too, red pandas are my fav animal.

That said the sets are kinda underwhelming compared to the previous Jungle Exploration City sets. The previous ones also fit Johnny Thunder better than these new ones do. He feels a bit out of place in these ones, but if you threw him in a remake of 60161, with a plane crash and a gem stone boudler booby trap he'd fit so well!.

The excavator and crane are both excellent, and we get two new construction torsos (in reddish orange?) and one new printed leg piece, which was unexpected! Also, it seems like the LEGO equivalent of CAT is “ELEPHANT”, based on the stickers.
The car transporter truck has stickers, but also some really nice brickbuilt detailing on the front of the truck and the sides of the orange car.
Based on the seams, the harbour is almost certainly modular!
Those panels on the LEGO truck had better be prints!! 😡

The jungle sets look really good! The main issue is that the titular jungle bits are rather lacklustre, but that seems to have freed up parts and budget to bulk up the vehicles and include lots of animals (two adult crocogators in a ~$20 set was not expected!). That being said, the $10 set needs a second red panda, and we really should have gotten at least one tiger cub.
One nice detail is that the explorers from the arctic/ocean subtheme last year are returning in the jungle sets (plus Johnny Thunder, and minus the divers and the red-haired mechanic) - I like that bit of continuity!

It is actually the scientist with glasses and orange hair who is missing; the mechanic is on the motorcycle.

Am I crazy, or does it look like the red panda in the Jungle sets is actually the old orange, while the one in DREAMZzz is the new reddish orange?

I think they'll be exactly the same, both the new reddish orange. Compared against the orange on Johnny's (ugly) buggy, the red panda is redder.

Love the excavator. Definite buy for me. Funny that the Jungle explorer stuff appears to be the same livery and logo as the most recent Arctic Explorer line. I might see how hard it would be building the Jungle Explorer stuff in the old, bright light orange, livery. Either that or build the MOCs I’ve bought plans of from hauling bricks in this new livery.

Wow that Tiger looks amazing. Hope all the animal moulds can be bought via Pick a Brick, in which case I'll only buy the small Red Panda set with Johnny Thunder and order the other animals individually, I said it once and I'll say it again, this is the best Alligator color scheme the company has given us. Not bad for a wave but I agree the last Jungle Wave out performed with the Temple Ruins as side builds, much more exciting than just the foliage and vehicles we're currently set to receive.

Also I do think that the bright light orange did look better. Love that we’re getting Johnny thunder though.

EDIT: Looking closely at the Jungle sets it appears that the minifigs are meant to be alternate versions of the characters represented in the most recent Arctic Explorers line. That actually is pretty cool. And as an added bonus I didn’t consider, the jungle and Arctic vehicles could be inserted into either setting, using the minifigs and and animals from each of the respective settings. For example adding the Chinook and the sea plane from the Jungle series as part of your jArctic expedition or the ship from Arctic line as a base of operations off the coast from which you could launch your jungle expedition. Quite clever really.

Looking at the Excavator, is there a new piece (connector/axle) within the hydraulic cylinders?

I don't think so. That piece is available for Technic.

Just saw the pics of the construction crane on RC Insight YouTube. It looks good but not sure if the $110 price is a bit too much?

I love the modern villa from creator

Excavator I'll get for sure. The mobile crane I would like but it might too big for my town and I don't have any built skyscraper buildings yet.

In regard to the Excavator, I wonder if they will give us big Dump Truck later in the year?

The crane looks like the 2022 one but on steroids

Might buy the jungle sets. As these kind of sets usually appear on sale very quickly in local shops. Gonna buy the roller coaster for sure, same for the harbour because it's my only choice. Not sure about the tram and bus.

Edit bonus: IMO I have to agree with all of you that is a shame that we have 4 explorer sets with amazing vehicles but with lack of a side build, I do like the connection and compatibility between all of the side builds. Also I think no one said this but I'm sad we lack a decent base for the explorers in this subtheme. Worst part is the polybag has more terrain than the 10€ set :/
