Couldn't agree more. More sidebuilds like temple ruins and such like the previous jungle wave. These are just vehicles with some random foliage and an animal thrown in. I think I will see if the animals appear on Pick-a-brick and then order from there.

I think just like the Animal Rescue subtheme this is supposed to be sold through its animals. But yes, the foliage is really weak in this sets. Not that it doesn't actually look good, for City I think they are really well made, but they all seem to be little more than flimsy backgrounds. In fact they remind me of the pedestals in a natural hisotry museum or indeed the decoration in a zoo.

Of all the jungle sets, 60427 is the best, imo. It has proportionally the mos amount of terrain, the great new tiger piece, Johnny, and the vehicle is not an 4x4, which was my expectation. This vehicle could even be, with a bit of modding, turned into a Space vehicle, for the 2024 space line.

 

It is interesting how LEGO really is investing in terrains which connect through clips in multiple sets. City Jungle, City harbor, and also Star Wars sets in this wave.

Is there not different maps that can be combined to one big map in the sets? It is a great idea however with so small parts of the jungle in the sets I assume that could have been easily included in a single map piece

I assume the chances for a bigger limited set with more jungle are close to zero now?

If that would be happening, I would guess we would have the Setnumber and Piececount at least, though it happened in the past that Lego revealed sets we had no information about at all. But I guess since the rest is revealed they would have revealed that one then aswell, so yeah, little to no chance I think.

I'm curious if we're going to have volcano exploration sets next year. As the maps on the new jungle sets show a volcano island.

Could it be some sort of mix between Jungle and volcano? As we didn't get much of terrain besides small and huge volcanoes

I think Volcano subtheme would be neat to have many new rock and trans-parts so far.  

But on the negative side, volcano is less habitatal for animals. So maybe it would be a small subtheme while other subtheme has more aniamls like Forest.

And as we have Johnny Thunder minifigure (or is he ealy?), it would be cool for him to discover another “lost world” on new island - dinosaurs inside volcano! However, with Jurassic World on shelves, I do not. Think it’s much likely for dinosaurs to make appearance in in-house sets like City.

I wouldn't interpret anything into that map. But I just noticed, that there are set specific maps.

Just Jason and Mech Max are more just social media handles, while Bytz and Wanda About are indeed puns - A play on “bytes” for the tech guy and “wander about” for the explorer.

I only just now found out about the No Limits Crew through reading this thread. But wow, now I want all of them. I was already going to get the Harbour and at least considering Robot World and the Bus, but is Mech Max not in any of the sets this year? I’ve only seen her in the Custom Car Garage, and that one’s already all but vanished from Australian shelves (read; prices have gone up too high for me to stomach and probably won’t go back down). It’s annoying, there’s a wheelchair girl in the Tram, that could have been Max?

Before Advent Calendar set’s reveal, I was wondering if Lego would do a space-themed advent calendar for City as 2024 is Year of Space. Like…astronauts and aliens celebrate Christmas in a distant galaxy! Alien with Santa’s hat! Alien reindeer! Santa Claus in astronaut suit with galactic map! A tree with a crystal piece s a topper!

But after its reveal, I actually love htat advent calendar - a bunch of cute sweaters and THAT dog! Mrs. Claus is superb! I don’t complain about regular advent calendar as it is for many years.  USD$32? That’s pretty decent!

The additional images show that the rotors of the Jungle Explorer Helicopter can be operated from the back and rotate ... in the same direction. They should rotate in opposite directions!

Anyway it's still an improvement compared to 4439, 60093, 60125 or 60173 and I hope it won't be hard to change if it is really wrong.

Guys guess what? Some of the summer 2024 sets are coming to the US in June, including the bus and Johnny Thunder's ATV - both of which are on my list. I'm so excited.

Also, the excavator and the Jungle off-road truck and water plane sets.  However, they aren't available for pre-order so maybe it's an error?
