Don't see why the out-of-the-city sets are a big deal when they can easily be ignored. If you don't want them, simply don't buy. But Lego is going to continue producing them because animal molds are up there with emergency based sets as being subjects that make City a popular theme.

Now if you want authentic town related sets, look at the 2021, 2022 and summer 2023 and summer 2024 waves. Buy some of those.

I mean newest SPACE subtheme and new brand Exploration 2023 + 2024.

Sci-fi and Adventure. Those are not CITY themes. Nothing to do with city anymore. For example space, that Artemis Space Port would be city. SPACE should have it own THEME called SPACE.

Exploration could be own adventure theme. That way CITY could focus for example things like Natural History Museum or for example Detective Office which would be located in city. Now F1 is coming to CITY - why not have Monaco like city circuit.

Bro, F1 cars can literally co-exist alongside explorers sets. The natural history museum and detectives office were modulars under the Creator theme. They weren't City.

I always hear that Space and Adneurers should have thier own themes but it really doens’t matter to me.  I mean Friends have SPACE and JUNGLE subthemes….  It’s just no point to argue..

Plus, I really like that idea they have done a cross-theme for Space, such as City, Friends, Trechnic, CMF, Duplo, Creator, etc.  Maybe Lego will realize that Space City sets are sold well so they could do a standalone theme for Space.

Still, it’s no point to argue about Space and Adventureers subthemes for City.

Alright, enough exploration/space drama, let’s get back to business.

two episodes of Lego city: No limits have been posted on Lego’s YT page

episode 1

episode 2

duke detain is in the first episode (he’s apparently the chief of police now) and acts SO out of character in that episode, episode two introduces us to “the collector” who actually does have a physical minifig already! (Exclusive crook in the prison island set, one with grey hair)

Him being the police chief feels out of character, as well (and where is Wheeler? He would have absolutely joined the No Limits crew!). Maybe there is a time-jump of 5-10 years since LCA? That could explain Duke's change in character and Wheeler's absence, as well as how LEGO City has become more high-tech seemingly overnight.

I feel like if there was a timeskip, it would be more clear, I think lego wants No Limits to be separate from LCA, but the only reason LCA characters appear is because Lego still wants to use the characters or something like that. My personal theory is that this is a different universe than LCA, but with the same characters (an example of what I mean is when the Lego friends characters were redesigned in 2018, that began a different story, the Olivia in 2022 is not the same Olivia in 2012, the 2023 reboot keeps the same continuity as the 2018 universe)

Are LCA and No Limit produced by the same animation compn ay? I don’t think it’s Lego’s idea to seperate LCA from No Limits.

LCA is produced by passion Paris (who now work on Lego friends: the next chapter) while no limits is made by bluezoo who mainly work on shows for younger audiences (example being “it’s pony” on Nickelodeon) so idk what that means, I’m assuming both LCA and no limits are attached to the Lego city IP meaning that Lego could take characters from LCA and put them in no limits or something IDK I’m not a copyright expert.

Oh but i iwll have to point out that i don’t think it’s Lego’s idea to do the shows as their own stories. For example, we Have Space City sets. I have read article that designers tend to interprter Space sets as in distant future., exploring new solar system (not within ours). However with No Limits tv show, there are Wanda About and other characters going to 9th planet (aka Planet X). This suggest that Space sets are in present day instead of distant future and Planet X is within our solar system.

Lego desginers’ interpretation vs animation company’s stories, ya know? Lore is just made by compnic and animation companies.

So I think it’s becuase another anti Taino company is doing Duke as a police chef which he is out of character.

I don't speak for everyone, but No Limits feels like its geared more towards teens and adolescents in contrary to LCA, which is obviously made for kids.

I can understand where you’re coming from here, and I do agree, it’s likely that this is bluezoo’s interpretation of duke detain

i get with the whole influencer thing that no limits goes for, but then again, one of the episodes of season 2 has a recurring joke about bytz hitting people with his rear, so yeah…

Maybe, but I think that there is a time-skip implied (space exploration has progressed considerably since LCA, for instance), or at least it can be rationalised as such.

So guys! We have this character in LEGO CITY? Adventure legend.

Also his friends are in Natural History Museum and The Orient Express. What this all means?

Just that Lego designers love to put references to old themes in Sets.

Yes - it probably doesn’t mean much but Lego must know including nostalgic characters would be appealing to older collectors. I suppose there is a chance that if the sets sell well then they would be inclined to do more of the same in future.

2023

LEGO made new brand. Exploration. It put together 2 subthemes. (Arctic + Deep Sea).

2024

LEGO continued new Exploration BRAND... (jungle) AND gave us new character (Johnny Thunder).

UK gets sets (yes Exploration) where there are BRICKS with brains. AND even more new and old characters from EXPLORATION, yes new Exploration brand.

2025

Other countries will get sets like The Lost Crocodile Temple.
