That new helmet is actually disappointing. I will be swapping it out for old ones.

I like it; while I would have preferred dual-moulding for the visor (or separate new helmet and visor moulds), I do wonder if it will end up being more reusable as a printed single-colour part (I can see a recolour in black with lime, yellow, or red visor print for a Blacktron remake).

BTW, is anyone else having difficulty finding the pink Spacebaby and robo-nurse? I managed to get a few dozen total from two different stores, but no Spacebaby to be found! I would ordinarily think that they had been picked-over, but I pulled five Ice Planet explorers so IDK.

I mean, ‘picked over’ can be very different depending on who’s doing the picking over. You might have someone in your area who really wants an army of pink space babies (or maybe lady androids - the nice thing about the space nanny is that she’s got a very interesting design but nothing on her specifically designates a childcare purpose), but don’t give a flip about Ice Planet and robot penguins.

Ohhh the dual-molded parts you suggest sound really neat!

Believe it or not, I didn’t scan anything in Walmart nd I ended up having three space babies.

I’ve now found them at 4 different stores and can’t say any particular figure has been more sought out than another. You must be having crazy bad luck or someone in your area really likes space babies.

Must just be weird luck, then - At least there is not a distribution problem!

Thanks to Jay’s Brick Blog, I was able to scan blind boxes’ QR / data matrix at Walmart and I collected 9 more minifigures. Yesterday I got 3 so I completed my collection of Series 26.

I gotta y I like 12 individual minifigures of this series. But it’s little weird to see bubble head for the robot butler.

It’s realy nice to have a pink space baby! And I like M:Tron, Blacktron and Ice Planet minifigures.

I was able to get the updated Ice Planet, Blacktron, and M-Tron along with the Beetlezoid.

I really like them all. I like the Blacktron more than I thought I would from the pictures. I had some spare neon green visors and adding them to the M-Tron figures makes them perfect in my opinion. Well worth grabbing some off Bricklink with an order if you don’t have any extra since they are pretty cheap.

I think the Ice Planet helmet could’ve been great despite there not being a separate visor. There’s a lot of detail to the helmet, I just think it could have used some more color.

The Beetlezoid has a great color scheme.

Is there a particular app you use to scan the codes? I found them early in a grocery store near me and bought four blind. After the third alien tourist I have decided it's time to figure out how to scan, and luckily this time around the codes are the big ones! (The fourth, in case you were wondering, was the UFO costume guy.)

I used an app called Code Scan (iPhone) that I also used for the last set.  I saw that Jay's Brick Blog had a system that doesn't require an app, but I think  you had to make an account.  Since I already had the app, it was quicker to use that in store.

I also used code scan for the last series, but it’s a general barcode reading app that will only give you a string of numbers. You have to get a list of the relevant numbers for your region and either memorize them or constantly switch between your list and the scanning app on your phone, which I found rather fiddly last time.

For this series I've got the Bricksearch app, which claims to scan the data matrix codes on the new cmf boxes as well as barcodes on regular lego sets. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but I’ve seen some videos of people demonstrating it, and it’s got all the know codes loaded into the app so when you scan a box it will show you a picture of the Minifigure that should be inside instead of a string of numbers. That promises to be a lot simpler.

Yes this application worked perfectly for me and I managed to get the complete series.

I purchased a whole box online, factory fresh. It came in while I was away from home this week, so it is now sat, teasing me to open it. The thing is, I have a few chores and errands first. Also, I promised my younger brothers (26 y/o and 22 y/o...) that they could give me a hand opening packs and making figures. So I need to wait until they are able to come over!

Luckily, I have not yet seen them in stores, well, that I could buy! The Morrison's supermarket by my workplace had the box out a week or more ago, but I tried to buy a pack and it would not register. So they took it and the whole box back (I suppose it was a good job that it was me before work and not some kids during a busy period eh?)

I love the new M-Tron helmet. Just wish the visor was physical and not printed on, so I could army build with different faces. Having the visor printed on as me feeling like all the soldiers may have the same face, or only one would have a visor. Both options being kind of awkward.

As for the Blacktron figure, he's cool but very particular. I would have preferred a standard Blacktron solider I could army build. But of course, they could always do that in standard series, so not a huge deal. They have Western, Space, City, Sports, and costumed archetypes in just about every series, so there's still hope.

It'd be easy enough to modify the Blacktron mutant to be a more modernized non mutant version, as long as you're willing to settle for plain white legs. All I'm missing is the trans green visor.

Also every store in my area is already completely sold out of the new cmfs, I don't remember the last few series getting cleaned out this fast. I managed to find the last Nurse Android in a pile of six of them that were left at wal mart. Glad I finally got the scanner to work, connecting to the store's wifi was all I had to do.

Jay’s. Brick Blog QR scanner

I tried it but it uses my phone's secondary camera, which, being wide-angle and with no autofocus, makes it almost impossible to read the QR codes. The Brick Search app, on the other hand, was flawless for me.

They ought to release a regular version of that updated Blacktron. Or at least give us the complete set of legs in another minifig.

I really like Blacktron Mutant, Ice Planet Explorer and M:Tron Powerlifter so I have no complaints. But I do understand that some of you want to build army of “nomral” Blacktron soldiers.

maybe they would put a Blacktron set on shelves in future? I hope so… but not 18+ one.

There's also this sense that the Blacktron figure is very busy. I don't mind the arms and leg, but the inhalator (?) and fro-hawk don't really mesh together and I feel like he has a lot going on. I catch myself going back and forth on whether or not I enjoy that figure. Maybe he just needs a new hairpiece..

That said, I'd prefer a nomral (image.gif.6c38924a5a879a46edacd69abf82e501.gif) Blacktron solider as a CMF because it's easier to army build that way. I suppose he may show up on pick a brick if they include him in a set, which may also be in my favor. Bring on the nomral soldiers !!

I would assume that a Blacktron solider has a fro-hawk to make h more “futuristic”. And i think inhaler would support him if he is outside the base station without needing helmet as his transformation continues going on? Or inhaler could help him breath properly jsut like Darth Vader.

Ordering 6 packs direct from lego was a mistake this time around, all 3 packs had the same 6 figures.

Lucky for me, TRU is having a 2 for $10 sale on CMFs and I was able to get the ones I was missing.

Few attempts at unmutating the Blacktron fig, I think the Space Police CMF legs work best, just a shame they're hard to find:

This is the best one. Others I would try:

Although the lines on the latter are blue, which I did not know until now.
