It's a cool fig for sure, but one I'd rather have as a one-off than an entire army of.

What is the likelihood that Lego will release a figure with the matching opposite legs? A full set of that mutant leg would be good for some alien or mythological figure.

That part is not new; the Series 15 faun used it first, along with the Series 25 harpy and the Series 26/Space Buggoid Elite.

Ideally, we would get both a normal fully Human Blacktron II astronaut and a fully-mutated one in the (now-mythical) Icons black spaceship, with the CMF being a halfway point, but I highly doubt that will happen. 🫤

Apparently D&D sets are being revealed next week

Have the CMFs been shuffled? Because Series 26 was supposed to come out first right?

I do not know, but it would make sense that they released them together when there is only one D2C and a CMF series so people can get more figs for the set

I don´t think that the CMF will be revealed that early - and there is no reason to think it would be released earlier, since all sources were saying D&D Series would come September. I think the countdown on the site is only for the Set, likely with a little hint towards the CMF.

This might sound a little cynical, but it makes sense for Lego to reveal/release the big expensive D&D set before the CMFs. If the big set is revealed first, it will be the only option for people who are into D&D, to either buy outright or save up for it. If the CMFs launched simultaneously, there's a higher chance that buyers might start with the cheaper option and maybe be content with that.

The big reveal is just the Ideas set – which apparently includes 6 minifigs itself. But the cmf still comes out in September. 
 

News of two large Space branded Icons sets (Artemis 1 and Milky Way) set to release in mid May has also dropped, so I don’t think there’s any doubt the Spave cmf is still coming out then.

That is a good point from a business point of view and when people have the set and the CMF show up a lot will buy them too populate the set probably

I would be happy to have regular series released soon instead of D&D one.  

I suppose the official pictures for the next series will start showing up sometime in a week or two.

And it’s now confirmed to be S26!

First time in this particular part of Eurobricks.
Just saw the new CMF leaflet in the usual place, and I love everything about these series!
Nice nods to old sub-themes of Space and great, new elements of sci-fi in other minifigures.
My favorites right now are the female astronaut, the ice planet soldier (that space penguin  ) and the M-Tron guy.
I'm also glad to see the hair 'bowlcut parted in center' finally appear in (what appears to be) tan

The Orion hairpiece seems to be different from the one we saw before, right?

I hope there will be a readable QR code, or else I will have to buy the complete series

Yeah, but the antenna is moulded into it, so it‘s not gonna be useful in that way

Looks the same to me, namely the runner‘s from S25

Part of me thinks it's a shame there's no new moulds with the alien tourist, but it's really fun and probably my favorite.

I also really like Orion. Nice concept and execution.

Kinda disappointed that it’s a robot dog, with the Retro Space woman, but I get that’s gonna appeal to others! Orion figure looks interesting, as does the Insectoid - with some useful parts.

The bases are printed with stars, which is a nice touch!

The feet of the cook robot are just right for making the B-9 Robot from Lost in Space.
