Capybara554321 Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Hear me out. 12 new colors for classic spaceman. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 That would be waste IMO and I like space minifigures... Quote

Even S26 would’ve been better, since that would at least have more variety Now there is only one unlicensed set a year, and only 12 characters, I much prefer mixtures. A couple of space, a couple of historical, a couple of city style, a couple of animals, ... there is a little bit for everyone rather than a whole series for a minority. Quote

Although this mixing is the best way, I think they will also put some city space stuff inside. If the thing is real, they'll probably do it in the most eclectic way possible. But maybe not in the end as many new city space sets are planned ! Edited August 4, 2023 by Khargeust Quote

Agreed but it may be better than bunch of costumes (Seires 18 and 23). We got Monster Series so i would like to. See different space-related minifigure, such as spaceman, alien, robot, evil spaceman, scientist, etc. Quote

No. 1 on my list is Bright Light Blue spaceman!!! And a formal Light Bluish Gray tank. It would be fun if they would feature one character from each of the Space sub-themes. Not a fan of Aliens but as long as it is no more than one figure. LOL Quote
timemail Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 I am going to work on the premise this is a continuation of Lego releasing a random reality show few people have heard of. A CMF based on making space - Marie Kondo. There will be 12 different versions of her each with an accesory representing a piece of junk removed from a home. It ties in well with all of those Lego collecgors with no room for their new purchase. As long as I assume it is this I can't be disapointed with whatever it turns out to be. Quote

Borex Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 If it isn’t a licensed series, i can see them giving us a new recolor of the spaceman. But i think also more spacefamily, so a spacekid with short legs, a household robot with the space logo on it, maybe even some grandfather/grandmother spacemen. a blacktron something, a fighting robot, an alien, a costumed kid (as if he is flying the classic space ship), a rocket scientist/how to grow veggies in space scientist, and of course a space fan with some nifty space related clothes on and a tile with the print of some old classic lego space set and a space microfig in it. But i just hope for 12 new aliens :-) Quote

We've had that rocket costume kid but I believe he had midi legs, although those were dark bluish gray. Quote

All three of those exist, actually: A blue micro/statue spaceman is in 5005358 Minifigure Factory. There's actually five spacemen that are microfigs thanks to Lego Games - Blue and Red in 3850 Meteor Strike and Lime, Orange, and Yellow in 3842 Lunar Command. 30 minutes ago, Accio Lego said: I’m pretty sure he had short legs, I don’t think mid legs had been released by then. That's probably the best example of a short-legged space figure in the "classic" style - I can't think of any that have the traditional helmet and airtanks though. Quote

So I guess it is the medium legs we are missing??? Quote

These should be easily doable on a CMF budget; new moulded headpiece, printed (rather than moulded) torso, and maybe a new leg piece (or creative print and flippers combo). The back fin can be done with a new part with neck bracket attachment, so that the Minifig can be customised more, and so that the head can turn (since another alternative to the original design would be to attach the fin to the headpiece). 4 hours ago, JohnTPT17 said: That's probably the best example of a short-legged space figure in the "classic" style - I can't think of any that have the traditional helmet and airtanks though. A Spacekid would be a great way of adding some variety to the Series while also giving us a new CS colour. Maybe a black or blue torso/helmet/airtanks, with mid-legs and a regular City child head print; accessories could be a rocket or flag and a Spaceman microfig statuette representing an action figure. If we get Spacekid in Space Series, what their face print wou be? A plain smiley face or a modern face one? We have a Spacebaby in Series 24 and they have normal minifigure eyes (with white spots) instead of blank black eyes. I feel weird seeing Spaceman with plain eyes while his baby has white spots. Personally, I go with modern one. Quote

I was thinking mostly the same thing except they could combine the back fin backpack with moulded chest ribbing and make it like an armor piece. Quote

Same; I think that making a hypothetical Spacekid a costume rather than just a short Spaceman would add variety to the Series while also allowing us to cobble together a new Spaceman colour (the only parts that we really need are the torso, helmet, and maybe airtanks (depending on the colour)). 2 hours ago, danth said: I was thinking mostly the same thing except they could combine the back fin backpack with moulded chest ribbing and make it like an armor piece. Good idea! The fin would need to be much thicker than the original one to avoid it snapping off, but another option would be to put a stud on the reverse of the ribbed chestplate piece; that way, a thin fin can be attached to the back, and the part can be recoloured/reprinted and used in themes like Ninjago and Castle. Mondo-TRON Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Very interested in this Space themed CMF. Quote
MatthewRC Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Whether it’s licensed or not, I can’t wait to see what it turns out to be! :D Quote
Lion King Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 I don’t see anything possible for Space-themed CMF turning out to be Star Wars series. I mean there are so many minifigures from Star Wars already. Do you want Luke with blue milk? We have him! Do you want Obi-Ken - both young and old versions? Oh yes, we got them covered! Do you want General Grievoous? Done that! Darth Vader? Uh yes? I mean, Darth Vader is the classic villian… Do you want storm Trooper? Well…. Just buy space frowning white soliders from BrickLink or eBay or whatever you prefer to build army. Seriously, which characters are we missing if this is Ineed Star Wars series? I just don’t see this series for 25th anniversary for Star Wars while we have so many unlicensed sets throughout Friends, City AND Icons (Moments). Quote

Yeah, part of the problem is that most Star Wars characters they could put in a series that haven’t been done multiple times before would be either really obscure or from something extremely new and therefore less popular. And most of those new Star Wars shows are getting decent set representation - it’s not like the Marvel Disney+ shows that are practically only getting represented in cmf form. It’s just impossible to put together a series that would satisfy collectors while also having shelf appeal to casual fans at this point. And in the meantime, City has a number of space and aliens themed sets slated for next year. Add in the rumored Icons moments set that’s also Space themed and clearly lego is doing a big push for all things unlicensed space next year, even if we don’t take this cmf into account. Take into account that themed unlicensed series are probably a decent way to get around the inevitable slump of switching to boxes and, well, there are some licensed sci-fi themes I’d love it to be, but it’s most likely we’re looking at something unlicensed here.
