The Friends Mars Rover looks gorgeous, I love it. Trying to figure out how it connects to the airlock system, though, it looks like the main body of the rover detaches from the wheels and then splits in half? I really wish they’d done some kind of ‘hub’ set, because there are a lot of attachment points but not a lot of things to attach them to. I want to put everything together into a giant space base, dang it.

The Lego friends team never fails to impress!

first of all, I love the design of the rover, looks amazing

second, it’s nice to see the return of William from the space academy!

one thing I noticed is that the large fern element has been recolored In opalescent blue!

the price of $50 is amazing, and definitely a buy for me!

The comic has taken a different turn this month, retelling the story of New Beginnings with images from the show.

 

Interesting they've changed Leo's description as a 'Unit' from the show, probably due to it being an insult in parts of Europe 🤣

Europe always gets things June 1st, for Americans, it depends, for example, 2022 and 2023 saw the summer wave release in June, but 2021 saw the summer sets release in august. I’d like for the summer sets to release in June over here in America this time, but tbh when the summer sets came out last year, the only place that had them was the Lego store, everywhere else got them august 1st

Do we think that's the Water Sports and the Tree House?  The top has oars, like a rental, but ping pong on top, so not as many water sports as I'd expect.  

In the bottom, there's a small tree coming out of one of the stands, so it looks like a set of tree houses.

Keep in mind, these are unconfirmed, but seeing as the mode features sets such as the botanical garden, I wouldn’t rule it out.

I think they are real. In the treehouse, the purple butterfly is on a trans-clear bar to make it appear it's flying.  No need to do that in a game! 

If these aren't the sets, I feel bad for the designers that made them painstakingly real builds for a game that can defy physical conventions.  Perhaps Lego will offer instructions as a VIP reward.  I bet the water sports set comes with a small boat to fit in the paved area.

Thanks to @Brick Clicker, we have an image of the cafe! My suspicions that it appeared early in a promo video for the mansion seem to have been confirmed!

looks like Johnathan is one of the camp counselors.

this actually confirms my suspicions that these appeared in Lego Fortnite

It's nice those camp sets are raised on some terrain , the contrast between the blue water, sand beach and green grass with the brown looks great.

Looking forward to the Archery Range and Bed and Breakfast "Castle" ,

I’m really curious to know what the friends kindergarten looks like!

Was looking through retirement of sets, and actually surpringly many 2023 retired in 2023 already, including a large set like the Downtown Flower / Designer shop,  

Seems both City and Friends have this trend of retiring some sets the same year ,or even within 6-9 months.

Also currently on Brickset I see Leo's Room and Sports Centre listed for 31 Jul 24 , so mid-year retirement is also a thing.

(of course retirement means LEGO.com first and foremost, other retailers can have product for longer , but it's still good to keep in mind on a wishlist or something to plan order of purchase) 

I don't think this trend of because of bad sales, but rather speeding up the amount of different sets available over the years bringing variation, instead of overproducing some sets that'll become hard sellers after 2-3 years.

OMG, the new Friends Advent Calendar is SO sweet... it's sort of a "flashback" scene with younger Olly and Paisley, and both of Paisley's parents (including her late mother). Also Olly's cat Gertrude as a kitten, Paisley's rabbit Melody as a baby bunny, and a "snow-kitty" that uses the chubby cat mold along with the top hat accessory from the magical funfair subtheme newly recolored in black!

EDIT: Also Paisley's little sister Ella as a newborn baby!

When I saw this I nearly screamed! I did not expect to get paisley’s late mother in a set! Might have to repurpose the hidden side graveyard ☠️

jokes aside, this set I’m definitely getting, no questions asked!

edit: we now now paisley’s mother’s name! Rose!

We got more leaks, and OMG THE CASTLE. I was expecting something like “a White Castle, but it’s a bed and breakfast” I was not expecting something like this!

some other sets leaked, the archery range, (autumn prosthetic in a cheap set!) beach jetski (weak, but new dolphin!) adventure camp cabins (more like adventure camp getting viciously attacked by mosquitoes because it’s an open air cabin), smoothie stand (Niko’s back!), dog grooming car (the fire hydrant, I can’t 😂) and water park (waaaayyy better than the last one, but is it really a contest?) 

once again, the Lego friends design team made a really solid wave!

Reminds me of a chateau, and I love it. Really looking forward to seeing the interior. Might be another really good example of putting two together to form a complete building, that also won't feel too cramped, given the size.

Is that an apartment building? Or just a traditional home? Unsure, but that white and blue building is a treasure and easily the best of the wave. Everything else is cute but an easy pass when you already have a Friends Waterpark. Kind of liking the outdoors sets though, but due to space and budget may have to pass.

It's not really an apartment building or a traditional home—it's a bed and breakfast, a small hotel-like lodging that's often converted from a larger family home.
