A year or two ago, one of the minifig customs companies online had a minifig body wear (I think made of rubber). It was basically a light brown trench coat to slip over the minifig and make him look like the detective. It would have been great if Lego had made this option so the inspector could either be black and white or multicolor. Quote
1Panda Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Don’t know if anyone else noticed this but the weight piece that the workout girl is using is actually two pieces one is the part that was originally used for Spider-Man to hold the web parts with and the other is one of those technic ball pieces with a print. and I’m assuming the barbarian figure is female and the batlord is male that way the can meet the six male six female quota. I think you’re right about the barbarian being a woman. It’s hard to tell between the glare in the photo on top of the ‘war paint’ design, but it does look like the eyes have longer lashes and the mouth definitely seems to have the thicker lips lego uses for their adult female faces. Classic_Spaceman Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 It is difficult to make out the barbarian's facial features, but a point in favour of them being female is the armour print on their torso; the male barbarian archetype (e.g. Conan) is typically shirtless, so this figure being more covered could mean that they are female. Khargeust Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 With the arrival of cardboard packages I wonder what will be the best way to acquire the figurines of our choice without spending a fortune. I would like to have Basil the Batlord, the Goatherd and his goat (in several copies), and maybe a few others. Is it better to buy random packages to find the figurines you want and resell the ones you don't want even if it means selling them cheaper, or buy the targeted figurines on the secondary market? But in this second case, it risks to be sold in a very expensive way, right? The price of a goat will undoubtedly be crazy given the high demand... What do you think ? Quote

You might be right but I won’t be surprise. I have seen buildable dumbbells in the modular Downtown Diner set (the gym on the second floor). Quote

El Garfio Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 The weight of the goat is like one minifig Due to it will be easy to detect if you use an scale The one that double weight is the sheppard with the goat Quote

I think take a chance at buying a handful as soon as you see them at retail, and if it’s from the original box take them from different corners. Then resell the ones you don’t want asap when interest is hottest. Other options are team up with a friend or two and swap/sell figures until you are happy. As the goat herder is the heaviest of the series you might be able to feel the difference it in your hand in store. I managed to do this for the Marvel series and successfully got Agatha (the heavyset figure), although I got two unwanted Kate Bishops at the same time, the 2nd heavyset figure). That dumbbell mould is a pet peeve of mine 🙈 if I had my way it would have been a standard 3 long bar and two technic balls. It’s irritating to me because it can be replicated with those other parts and the new mould itself doesn’t have any system compatibility other than the handle. The mould budget could have been spent elsewhere. Quote

Bugbot20082 Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 To be fair that train costume is probably heavy, plus the box will have spares of the smoke plume and the studs too, it might actually be the heavyweight of the series. Quote

telaruhn Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 I always look forward to these series the most. I wasn't too excited for them at first glance, but it's a great group. Some deviations from the last couple groups is refreshing - no space figures or food costumes. 1. Awesome to finally get another thematically unique detective. The new color variant red herring is a hilarious, unexpected addition. 2. She's okay. A missed opportunity to get a cool new hairpiece with the headphones on, or even a color variant of Hidden Side's Parker's hairpiece. 3. The best of the bunch, a great reference to an old favorite and a guess off of many peoples' wishlists. Shame the light glare on the checklist obscures what we could see for torso and leg details. 4. I like the hair, and the prosthetic legs are awesome, but overall, he's not too exciting beyond that. 5. Fantastic to see the goat again, it almost feels like new since the last one was so long ago... The herder is surprisingly detailed. 6. Decent. Looks like she would fit in with the Forest Elf, but I like the butterfly the most. 7. Least Favorite of the bunch. I am 90% certain the kettle-bell is a new mold. There's no way they would just use existing pieces if they made a new mold for the Circus Strongman's barbell... Right? 8. Second Favorite. The triceratops silhouette lends itself better to the minifigure form than the T-Rex Costume, and I daresay any possible future dinosaur costume... 9. Third Favorite. I didn't like the colors at first, but I think it makes for a unique take. The Faun legs work surprisingly well here. 10. Also okay. Within expectations as far as the vehicle costumes go. I wonder what else could they do for this type of costume. 11. I like him quite a bit. The keffiyeh-like headpiece gives off a Middle-Eastern warrior vibe instead of barbarian. Sad that we only get one sword and nothing in the off-hand. 12. i won't say no to a new animal mold, but I never thought that an afghan hound would be the next dog breed of choice... The groomer is within expectations. Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 I think the barbarian is female so she can be a discount Red Sonja minifigure. Quote

Alexandrina Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 So having had a good look at the leaflet, I think I'm quite disappointed in this range. Only figs 5 and 11 really interest me at all (and for 11 I'll be swapping out that ugly sword straight away). Maybe the butterfly girl as well. As for the rest, I'll obviously be buying up all the yellow heads for my collection but Basil is a real disappointment. A horrible textured cape, those terrible clip-on axe heads rather than a moulded weapon, and it doesn't even look like he has a proper yellow head. Quote
