So having had a good look at the leaflet, I think I'm quite disappointed in this range. Only figs 5 and 11 really interest me at all (and for 11 I'll be swapping out that ugly sword straight away). Maybe the butterfly girl as well. As for the rest, I'll obviously be buying up all the yellow heads for my collection but Basil is a real disappointment. A horrible textured cape, those terrible clip-on axe heads rather than a moulded weapon, and it doesn't even look like he has a proper yellow head.

Why would a redesign need to have a yellow head? I mean, it's been a LOOOONNGGGG time since Basil was out, Monster Fighters & Nexo have both shown the range of making mystical faces and colour ways. I'd be happier with a more "monstrous" Basil.

Honestly I don't have any use for non-yellow heads and I've literally never liked them. I want more yellow heads, and especially in cases where they're directly recreating a previous minifigure. They could easily do a "monstrous lord" minifigure with a differently-coloured head in any number of contexts without making the figure be Basil.

Honestly? Tough. I mean it's not like you can't source an OG head. And since yellow heads are white-coded, you have a whole lot of other options as well, maybe the head colour on a redux can be different?

Yeah, I'm well aware I can source an original head. I have multiple of them. That doesn't mean I'm not allowed to express my disappointment in what's coming, especially when - like the rest of the minifigures I'm not excited about - the reason I'm disappointed is because the figure has no use to me personally. The only difference between the new Basil and 9 of the other minifigures is that the others have heads which I can add to my collection of yellow heads, and Basil doesn't.

The Minifig has too many clothes for that, though!

Well  I don´t think she actually is meant to be Red Sonia but is based on her ;). In the end it is not a licensed series so it can´t be her actually ;)

I do actually like that sword, looks like a barbarian sword to me ;) - Also Basil is still one of my favourites together with the Goat. For me the head still looks yellow, would be surprised if it would be a different colour.

Seeing a cool new dragon headgear, I wish that one would show up in Series 25… we have two with dragon headgear (from Series 18). Plus the. Vidiyo wings would be great as well.

So we shall see about Series 26 and beyond.

Honestly I've only found one image because I've still never figured out where leaked images usually get posted. To be honest this is better luck than I've had with most sets! Usually when people are discussing leaked material I have no idea what they're on about because I haven't found it at all. The one image I saw from Google made it seem as though the head is black, but it could have been a combo of dodgy image and shadow from the helmet.

I've never liked big bulky stuff! I have some of the old Knights Kingdom swords in a box somewhere which I replaced with the old style shortswords at the earliest opportunity cos they were too bulky for me!

I doubt Lego would ever give us someone with that much curves with so little clothes! LOL Great stuff for custom-makers though.

No offense but I would hate this. I am quite over the costumed figures and to get a costume figure of a costume we already got (twice!) just because a new mould has been introduced would be annoying from a consumer point of view because we only get 12 slots. There are other tropes I'd want to see them pursue, like fairies in teal, green, pink, aqua, and lavender, or mermaids with varying tail and clamshell color schemes. We got that unofficial Red Ranger in Series 19, would love to get more Power Ranger-esque figures with different color schemes. I'd be down to see more cooks, we got a Sushi chef with the Ninjago cmf series, and a Baker in Series 17. I'd welcome more figures specializing in certain cuisine with accessories to match. But another dragon suit figure? We have green and red dragon suit figures I really don't need this to become a trope if anything just release a BAM figure and call it a day lol.

I’m not surprised. I love costumed figures, lol.  I’m not surprised about Brick Suit person showing up again -  in a new color.  Not surprised about a new variant of classic spaceman show up.  I just like collecting the new colors. I’m ok wiht BAM  if the introudce new colors for Brick Suit people, on other hand.

I agree that there have been many sub-themes in the CMF series that have not been continued, and could be and should be.

It seems that at the moment, Lego has been consistently making:

Animal costume (I am all in for more!!!)

Forest Fairies (Yes, I want more! Bring on all of Tinkerbelle's friends!!!)

More Japanese culture-theme figures!

According to bricklink, there are over 1350 yellow heads, so adding a bit more variety in colour where possible is not a bad thing.

Have they confirmed that this is meant to be a direct recreation of the original bat lord that came to be known as Basil? It could equally well be showing what that now old figure could have been if they had access to current colours back in the 90s. To me, that is much more interesting than an exact copy of an old existing figure that you can just buy on bricklink. I find the old pupil-less eye heads don't work very well alongside modern heads anyway, so an update there would be necessary.  If they added pupils, they would be doing a more modern take on it. And in that case, why not update other features to give something that would be done if they made a modern Fright Knights sub-theme. I cannot tell whether they have changed the colour, but making a bat lord's head white or glow in the dark like they do for other vampires makes the CMF version more interesting to me.

Yup, and I collect all the different yellow heads, so having a new yellow head is the single most important criterion for me when coming to whether I'm interested in a CMF figure or not. I'll inevitably be getting half the set on Bricklink after the fact anyway, so I won't be buying the non-yellow-head figs and will probably sell any that I do happen to get in blind boxes in order to fund my yellow head collecting.

We got the sumo wrestler, karate master, Kimono girl, Ninja and Samurai. I’d love to get a Sumo wrestler with a belly piece that could be used for “heavier” characters if they ever felt like revisiting that concept. Besides there is also the circus trope we have not seen in ages. We could get a unicycler, trapeze artist or contortionist but the latter two are hard to depict imo. We also have medical professionals, I mean we got the Surgeon and Nurse but no Dentist? Or how about more Western characters? Anything but more suited figures I beg of you

I don’t mind revisiting. The existing characters in the older CMF series as you said about a belly piece for sumo wrestler. Or a new highly-detailed skirt for Kimono lady. Or a ninja with some new weapon or a gliding kite.

Also we don’t have some certain cultural Japanese figures, such as oni, Managua fan, a super-duper cute girl wih “Hello Kitty” headgear, a shogun, a clan samurai, a mythical god/goddess, a Japanese folktale character, a ramen Chef, a ronin an archer, a kimono-wearing man….Of course, there are some characters from Ninjago ses…

If we are ever to allow the Acorn Boy to have some happiness, the we better allow him to have a companion. I don't mid her. She can mingle with the other Forest persons. LOL

Oni (Japanese demon or demon-god)

Kyudoka (master archer)

Itamae (ramen chef)

Japanese man wearing a yukata, perhaps wearing a moulded geta

Doubt Lego will touch this but, perhaps a gosu-rori

Ultraman

Sailormoon
