I wasn't going to buy any either, but then I found BL sellers selling the Marvel CMF brand new for less than full retail price, so figured I might as well. Hopefully it'll be the same with this series.

I guess that's still supporting LEGO's deplorable move to true blind boxes to some degree, but at least it isn't gambling or wasting money on my end.

There are some nice minifigs fur sure, but none of them is a must-have for me so i can play the waiting game. But i don't know what i'll do if there will be a highly desirable minifig in a future series :pir_laugh2:

Yup!

I like that idea but, sadly it’s unlikey for TLG to do different artwork for individual minifigure.  It would cost 12 different artwork a lot. “Genera” artwork is a traditional for CMF since you don’t know what is inside.

Maybe add a number  under “Series 25” logo? Like 1, 2, 3, 4…11, 12 to match the minifigures’ numbers on a folded paper inside the blind box?

You are right, i didn't think about that. A number like you suggest would do the trick  It could be printed small on the backside, so it does not spoil people who like the surprise.

@Kit Figsto i agree. maybe they're still testing out paper bags to see how they're being received. I just find it sad to see boxes destroyed empty and with pieces missing.

I'm not sure if they'd ever go to paper bags for the CMFs, just because they seem too easy to potentially steal, but I forgot that the magazine promo figures/sets come in paper bags, so maybe it's worked in the past.  Either way, I'm just not a fan of the boxes at all.  Like, yes, the bag didn't tell us which figure was in it, but with some work, you could figure it out, which I appreciated, so it was still a "blind bag" but you could figure it out.

Very hard to guess anyways. The old one is very expensive, so people might speculate on that - but we also know there will be a new one that will be avaiable through Pick a brick, so people might not be willing to spend that much for it.

If MTS is revealed when series 25 CMF hit the shops so that everybody knows more goats are coming and in what colours they will have on PAB later that will help a lot with the price. In the beginning I am sure some sellers will try to get crazy prices for them before they drop. In theory is should be possible to buy them for retail price since the big sellers get them a lot cheaper from Lego, however the demand for the figs will probably drive the price up. I might end up buying a box or two and sell the figs I do not want even if that takes a lot of time  :shrug_oh_well:

It is rumoured to be released in April and will very likely stay exclusive, or at least partly exclusive with one of Lego´s partners selling it only - so I don´t think there will be an early reveal, more likely we will see it in March - maybe in February by then most will likely have their figs bought already.

Hopefully the minifigure boxes stop existing.

A couple of extra thoughts on the series, now that the official photos have been revealed:

  • Barbarian: This one of my favorites of the series. The arm and leg printing is lovely. The idea of the new hair/circlet mold is great (more of these please!). The contour of the hair feels too a little too flat/dull for my personal taste, but I accept that it is accurate to the 'Red Sonja' source material. Personally, I would have preferred something a bit more windswept. Not sure about the hair colour: Dark red might or dark orange might have been preferable. A future re-colour with the hair in black and the circlet in gold might also look cool - perhaps one day!
  • Batlord: Overall I love the level of detail in the figure. Clearly no expense was spared. New helmet mold, dual-molded legs, new torso print, leg and arm printing, dual sided cape (red and grey). New shield print. Presumably dual sided face print too. Exceptional.
    • Query: While the overall effect is very cool indeed, I'm having trouble interpreting the print designs: What exactly is he supposed to be wearing?
      • Torso: Is it a studded vest with crenellated/dagged sleeves?
      • Legs: Is it supposed to be a studded leather belt/girdle (like a Roman cingulum?) over grey leggings and boots? Or maybe its a black crenellated/dagged tunic fringe hanging over grey leggings?
  • Goatherd: Putting the goat accessory aside, I really like this figure. However, it also frustrates me. First the good stuff: I like that it is unambiguously medieval. I also like that it could be repurposed as a Forestman. However, I really dislike the face print: The CMF series has given us some fantastic 'stubble' face prints recently )e.g. the Series 22 Snow Guardian and the Series 20 Tournament Knight) - this attempt at '5 o'clock shadow' is not one of them. Also - and this is admittedly more of a nitpick - but the design of the torso print also feels a bit off to me. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's something to do with the combination of the hood cape print overlapping the sheepskin vest?
  • Noir Detective: Still one of my favorites. I love the new hat mold and the trench coat torso print. I'm also grateful that they extended the printing of the trench coat down onto the legs.
  • Crossfitter: This one is growing on me. The torso print design is good. New dual-molded legs. The waistband printing on the hips is a nice, if subtle detail. I like the new tattoo print on the arms (tattoos still being pretty rare on minifigures). The printed accessories are good.

These official pictures are awesome! I can't wait for them to show up in stores.

Bat Lord is still the best one. I don't mind the axe assembly, but I hope to get a great-axe mold someday... On another note, I feel like he would look great with Godric Gryffindor's sword.

  • The harpy looks better in this image for me. I do wish that Lego would make a better winged character back piece that isn't so large and blocky though.

I share the same sentiment. I would love to see feathery wings in the same fashion as the number of fairy/insect wings we've gotten, or the dragon/gargoyle wings. I'm fine with giving up posing ability if it means less bulk. Maybe with an eventual Cupid minifigure?

So I think the hound-trimmer's new hairpiece incorporates something like a cochlear implant, though you can only see a tiny hint at it on the CMF images on the right side of the head.

What's weird is that the hairpiece looks the same-ish as the one I'm seeing in the new Burger Van, except they seem to be mirror images of each other, so I don't know what's going on.

I'm pretty certain that she has a ponytail! So it's basically the long-haired version of the Burger Van hairpiece.

I wonder if there will be reviews on these cool minifigures so we could have close-up look. Like, Jay’s Brick Blog or Brick Brothers or whoever they have already S25.

I just realized something…. Does this CMF seires tell us something about City’s summer wave? Allow me explain….

in 2020, we had Ocean Exploration that summer. It has new animals molds (anglerfish, manta ray, hammerhead shark (head only)) while we had green sea turtle from Series 20 that year.  4 new molds in subtheme and one from CMF.

In 2021, we had Wildlife Rescue that summer.  We had new mold, such as monkey,  maned lion (noly head), lion cub, elephant and elephant calf.. None from CMF that year. So it’s 5 new molds in subtheme.

In 2022, we had Farm. There are lamb, calf, piglet and sheep (only new woolly piece). And we had foal from CMF that year. So it’s 4 new molds in subtheme and 1 in CMF).

Now this year, we have Arctic Ocean… we have orca, polar bear cub, seal, seal pup and big turtle. None from CMF this time. So…it’s five in subtheme.

Series 25 seems to me it doesn’t tell me something about City’s summer wave? Afghan hound, red herring and goat just don’t tell me something. I mean we know medeival town square set will have goat and we had a Farm subtheme last year.

Uff not sure I like the moustache :sceptic:

It looks better than what I assume was his mustache in the original design. Also reminds me of the description of the literary Count Dracula.

Kinda hilarious how everyone’s focused on whether or not they like Basil’s head when the same video that did the face reveal clearly shows how his cape is double sided with his symbol printed on the back. That’s pretty epic.

Also, it looks like all the minifigs that can have a double sided head do, which is nice. The pro gamer has a sponsor’s logo on the back of her shirt. The Paralympic runner’s number is 2024. And the triceratops suit has some lovely printing on the back and tail. All in all some lovely attention to detail in this series.

Yup lol. I guess they focus on the classic character after all!

that’s really cool that they have black printings!

I'm really eagerly awaiting part 3 (or a YouTube version) of JB Spielwaren's CMF overview so we can get a better look at the cochlear implant!

Yesssssss, the dog groomer’s hair is definitely something I want to see in the round!

JB posted part three on their Instagram. The dog groomer does indeed have a long ponytail. I don't really care about the body or face of that figure to be honest, but the dog and hairpiece sell it for me!

The barbarian woman is also looking good. Unlike the bright red hair on the Black Falcon archer that just looked totally out of place to me, this figure has a wilder look and style that makes the red hair more ok. I get why others don't like it though.

That hair piece is great. I think it’s very interesting that after quite awhile of doing printed cochlear implants lego is now dropping two different versions dual molded into hair pieces, but this does open up a world of possibilities for Friends and other flesh toned themes as well as significantly expanding the facial options that deaf minifigs can have.

I thought the previous prints were just standard over-ear hearing aids, though to be honest I do not know much about the available technologies.

Of course there are pros and cons to both prints and moulding. With prints you can use any hairpiece, while with moulding you can use any face - though the option to expand into Minidolls is great.

In fact one of the 2024 Friends sets does use the short hair cochlear hair piece.

As a deaf AFOl wearing CI (cochlear implant), this is exactly waht I am hoping for. It has even since the printed hearing aid was introduced, i had been wondering if. They would do a CI+Hair piece but I almost gave up on it. What a perfect timing. CI is now visible on hairpiece rather than under it.

By the way, hearing aid and CI are differnet things.

Now i wonder if we woul see….a hairpiece with TWO CIs. Don’t get me wrong….. there are some people in deaf community DO wear two CIs, while others wear one CI.  And most of dearies don’t wear CI (don’t ask me that quesito, jsut let them speak for themselves becuase of deaf pride). It would be cool to see a hairpiece with two CIs but it may be unlikely / useless for AFOLs.
