Sir Dano Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 Do we have a breakdown of what's in the A & B 6-packs yet? Quote

That 12 pack hanger box that gets you a complete set? I’m in the wrong part of Europe. The 12-packs are in limited countries and I’m far from them. Besides, I’m not after all 12. There are some such as the Train Boy that don’t interest me, not even for spare parts. On 12/28/2023 at 6:48 PM, williejm said: Indeed. To that end, have any of this series showed up in the wild in Europe yet? Perhaps unsurprisingly, they’re in LEGO stores. I picked up 11 from the Westfield Shepherds Bush shop. I used scales. The staff had no problem with that. They even brought out some fresh display boxes for me to go through. Edited January 1, 2024 by AmperZand Quote

I’m sure I’ve seen someone comment that they could be different for us here than in the guides because they might be coming from a different factory and use a different amount if glue, etc. so am curious. The amount of glue will vary from pack to pack, no matter if they are from the same factory or not - however Stonewars, which is one of the sources in his table, is a german blog and their packs are from the czech Factory. Sir Dano Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Fellow Canadians, Toys R Us is adding security tags which are affecting the weights so keep that in mind when trying to find what you want. Quote

I wound up with only ones that I wanted and none that I didn’t, so pretty well. I wasn’t able to get any Mushroom Sprites though as its weight was too close to some others and I didn’t want to risk it. One reason that the weights vary (in addition to slight packaging differences such as how much glue) are the spare parts. Both my goatherds have two cheeses and two sticks each. I’m not sure that that’s true of all factories or production runs. So in future, it may help if the weights of possible additional accessories are taken into account. I’ve kept the boxes so can check if the QR codes work in Europe if anyone is interested. Quote

I would be interested to know whether this works. As mentioned above the codes are different from the one from the Mexican Factory, but it should be the same system just with different numbers I hope. Quote

They do not have security tags in Calgary. However, Indigo was lovely and put price stickers over the QR codes so even if the boxes had the new large QRs I couldn't read them. Luckily weight and box distribution are king. Quote

hikouki Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Apart from those who only want a certain item from the roster, I do wonder if there is still a market for a complete set in sealed boxes? An eBay seller once told me that he has to pay staff to feel the bags/ foil packs. Discerning sealed boxes I imagine will be much much more labor intensive. Quote

As mentioned above the codes are different from the one from the Mexican Factory, but it should be the same system just with different numbers I hope. I tried but wasn’t able to get the QR reader to work. Even if it had worked, you would still need a guide to which minifigure corresponds to which number. The Mexican factory’s numbers are not necessarily the same as the Czech’s. One thing I did notice is that the small number that runs up the side of the QR code seems to be unique to each individual box. So if you have two minifigures of similar weights but very different numbers, they’re very likely not the same minifigure. So for example, if you buy and open a box and it’s the harpy, another box with a very different number is probably a mushroom sprite. It’s not a perfect system but cuts the odds of getting unwanted duplicates. Conversely, if you’re after multiple of the same one, e.g. lots of goatherds, and you have several that are similar weights, if the numbers by the QR are also numerically close, you should be able to identify them after you buy and open the first one. 11 hours ago, Roebuck said: Why could not Lego give us a spare goat instead You wish! CallMeCarbiz Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 I found them at two stores, Target and Barnes & Noble. The boxes at Target had the codes, but I planned on buying them at B&N. When they put them out on Jan 1st at B&N half of the box of CMFs didn't have the codes. I love that the codes have been added! I can scan an entire box in less time than it took to feel some of the previous bags. I'm now stuck waiting for B&N to get more, or pay full price at Target. We get 10% off at B&N with their premium membership. Quote

Khargeust Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Well, I gave in to impatience and therefore ordered the Goatherd as well as the Vampire Knights, two of the three figurines that I wanted for this series (the Fierce Barbarian will wait because it is not a must have for me especially since I'm more interested in the sword than the figurine). 10€ each + shipping costs, or almost 27€ in total... I was planning to go to the toy store near my house to buy a few boxes but with no guarantee of finding the ones I'm looking for... I will now wait until this series 25 is well distributed to buy a few goats "at the best price". LEGO has had us well with this new cardboard system! Quote
Wesley D Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Today I tried my luck scanning QR codes. I got all the minifigures I wanted I'm curious if it was ment to be so easy to determine the contents of the blind boxes. I guess they won't make it so easy the next time. When I was young I never liked Fright Knights, even Dragon Knights looked so not castle to me, but Basil the Bat Lord, uhm, Vampire Knight is an amazing minifigure! Quote

Lion King Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 I’m greatly pleased with 6-pack Series 25 package. I got Vampire Knight and Goatherd in it. F*ck yeah! However, I got two Paralympic Athletes which I’m little surprised to see that. Just that’s it. I’m not a fan of Fitness Instructor’s torso. It looked like she spent too much in the sun and she got tan. Quote

According to one of the members of staff at the LEGO store I went to, LEGO is planning to add braille to all boxes including identifiers on future CMF boxes. It may be quite some time though before that's rolled out, so it might not be any of the series this year. If that's true, palping bags will be replaced with another tactile skill: reading braille. Curious if there are A and B, and your repeat was an accident (but still a common risk as in series past). You do have lots of medals now, so you can do Olympics or Star Wars ceremony! Quote

Yup, I feel like I hit jackpot with Vampire Knight and Goatherd! I am really curious abou A and B 6 Packs too. 1 hour ago, AmperZand said: According to one of the members of staff at the LEGO store I went to, LEGO is planning to add braille to all boxes including identifiers on future CMF boxes. JohnTPT17 Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Jay's Brick Blog now has a good write-up on the newer QR codes. It also includes the regional differences, which should also help with some of the confusion. My local stores haven't had them in stock, but I'll try a few other places to see if I can find a few goats, Bat-lords, and Harpies. I would imagine that putting braille on every Lego set could get spendy (and it might not work for a few items, like polybags), but it would be an interesting way to solve the blind box dilemma. Yeah, I dont’ think it won’t be speedy for blind boxes to hae Braille as boxes are made out of paper, rather than “solid” traditional plastic. I doubt they would do it on polybags since we will. Know what set name / set number and it also has an image of set on it. So no Braille for polybags I guess. If I have to guess what kind of Braille code they would put on blind boxes, it will be numbers to represent minifigures based on leaflet. In Braille lanauge, i use a number symbol (#) represent letter as an actual number. For example… A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, D = 4, E = 5, F = 6, G = 7, H = 8, I = 9, and J = 0 Nw as for 10, 11 and 12, I will use “AJ”, “AA” and “AB” to translate them into 10, 11, and 12. It’s only 3 cells (Ie, #AB aka 12) so it now’ t take a lot of spaces on blind boxes. Just simple and sweet. I hope it makes sense! Quote
