While RC pneumatic valves would be awesome, I don't see them happening. Though that makes the whole idea shaky - when did we last have a non-RC flagship?

A configuration which could work is RC drive, steering, front bucket (with LAs) and compressor, and a pneumatic manually-controlled rear bucket.

A full or even partial RC backhoe would be amazing, it would definitely be something that I would look at purchasing, if the price was right.

A proper RC backhoe loader would be about the only large Technic set I’d be willing to pay out the nose for.   I don’t care if it’s pneumatic or not, but as long as it had proper functions, I’d buy one.

Nah, he's busy with lots of other stuff, including the upcoming Speed Champions sets.

Isn't that the same caliber as in other themes' magazines, where a figure or side build is provided? So it will have an other code(name), eventually

Thanks @anyUser for the build guide. This set will most likely be a magazine gift so probably a 6 digit set number, unlike the large Technic polybags we had before.

But this will NOT be a polybag but rather a mini-build, so with 86 parts not a bad exclusive magazine gift at all. The previous polybags were always cheaper separately than together with the magazine so I'm glad they ditched that. Guess the set name is "Wrecking Ball".

I'd pay good money for a proper flagship backhoe. I missed Claas Xerion and now it's at an insane price, but a great backhoe would be even better. 

It's insane to me we're getting shitty cars instead of a good backhoe.

Same as all the other Blue Ocean magazines. A paper bag with the parts and the instructions included in the magazine.

Oh yeah, TLG are going polybag-free now.

EDIT: It has just dawned on me that this build will only come with the magazine and not be available as a separate set.

Seriously, TLG will do anything to make an extra buck.

Did I miss something? Does anyone know why the 1:8 super car hasn’t been announced/released yet? We had the Ferrari Daytona on June 1st 2022.

And dare I say it also needs to be pneumatic, unless you want it to have 12 motors and be either very slow or very weak. Could it be RC? Well maybe, if they bring out a new PU control valve that is stackable/daisy chain-able in some way. Then you could control all 10+ motorised pneumatic functions from only 2 ports (valves and compressor) leaving the other 2 ports for drive and steer. We've wanted a backhoe for so long, they wanted to bring us a backhoe for a while, might as well do it right and not half megablocks it.

A medium-scale RC backhoe with a LA front loader and a pneumatic auto compressor backhoe would be incredibly playable. It would be even better with Zetros wheels on the rear axle, ensuring it stays in scale with the Arocs-sized trucks we've all acquired over the years. 2WD would be perfectly acceptable, and I could do without a multifunction front bucket, side shift, and backhoe dipper extension. Including forks behind the bucket, as some manufacturers do, would be a practical addition.

And here I was thinking the reveal of the next 1:8 supercar would be happening any day now. I guess it is possible they moved the launch date to coincide with the reveal of the actual full sized car.

October? It seems to overlap almost exactly with the release date of P18. At this point, I can only be sure that the car model is P18.

Personally I am more interested in the unknown "watercraft" that we have a credible leak for.
