Lion King Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Or Lego will let the renewed Star Wars license expired earlier? 23 hours ago, Mondo-TRON said: I would like LEGO to introduce a new color, for the astronauts, for every wave. Rainbow Astoranauts anyone? Would be perfect for June. Quote
danth Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 So last night I built the truck from 60434 that everyone says is underwhelming. After building it I like it much more; the shape and design of the cab is pretty great. But I think I know exactly what's "wrong" with it. It needs an extra set of wheels between the existing wheels. As a six wheeler it looks perfect. Quote

I still think I might try modding it to use those hard plastic wheels, though (and those might be slightly too big to fit in a row of six like this). Quote
legoturtle Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 6 wheels - what about 12? or even 18 ... COULD it be a mini mini rover consist of 3 modules... all linked together... Quote

Yeah that looks better with 6 wheels, but after seeing review, the way the cab is built is indeed really nice, sideway tiling at 4 wide is a nice modern way to build. Quote
Lion King Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 I just got the first City Space set and it’s the Spae Hoverbike polybag. I built it this evening. Oh boy, it looks pretty cool even tho it’s just a polybag set. I love the way it’s built and how futuristic it looks. It kinda reminds me of Rock Raider Hoverbike set but not too similiar. I don’t realize that the helmet / headgear is a new piece but I like it! I’m waiting of the Space Interselllar set to arrive. I’m thinking about picking up Rover & Alien Life and Construciton Mech sets but not sure yet. Quote
legoturtle Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Can I ask how you found those polybags? Good job! Quote
Artanis I Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 6 wheels looks more of an improvement than it sounds Quote

legoturtle Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 not bad... I try to find polybags also... no luck yet. Quote

Yeah, I broke down and bought some off Bricklink a couple nights ago. It's just impossible to find polybags anywhere near me. 36 minutes ago, legoturtle said: Obligatory WHAT. HAPPENED? Although, if they're cute, at least it should stop the human minifigs from massacring them and we avoid a violence-based Space theme. Quote

Mondo-TRON Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Where are the polybag found in-store, in the US.? Will they be on LEGO on line stores? 7 hours ago, Classic_Spaceman said: We have been seeing price increases across the board, though. They could do this set or a 2024 City Space version for International Space Day Quote
legoturtle Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Well look the difference in aliens... LIKE night and day. Friendly aliens... mmm... I hope the LORE continues... another alien race maybe, in different planet. BIGGER Interstellar spaceship! Mother ship even! Quote

The aliens appear to be the same species; the Friends/4+ ones are just chonkier. Quote
legoturtle Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Capo di tutti capi = the BOSS of all the bosses Evolution of aliens, from bad guys to pets... "friendly aliens". In a long run this is not good news for us. WE NEED ALSO a bad alien faction - bad guys. They need a BASE and a mothership... simple as that. Or... can someone explain who is this guy? Is there more LORE behind the "Friendly Aliens" -faction..... Quote
Artanis I Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I only just saw that the minifigs all have the same torso & legs, regardless of the helmet/arms/accessory colour. Adding your own faction colour is a piece of cake. Most obvious starting points are black and red, but any colour that a decent helmet comes in... Quote
Lion King Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 We have seen knights against rival knights, we have seen pirates against governors / imperial soldiers, we hae seen police offers against crooks, we havee seen dream chasers against nightmare creatures, we hae seen ghost hunters against evil spirits. i guess it migh be a time for us to see humans against evil aliens then. Quote
Autumn Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I think the cute friendly aliens are fine. Not everything needs to have conflict or be "good v bad," especially when it's been done many times before. It gives it an old school Lego vibe of simply peaceful exploration with fun builds and vehicles. Quote

tafkatb Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 It occurred to me that a good role for another color of astronauts could be "ambassadors" who would specialize in communicating with aliens. I suppose that could fall under the science or exploration fields but it feels like it would be its own thing. Quote

Although there is no new Space theme (not City, Friends, DUPLO, Technic, CMF, etc) so it might explain why there are no bad aliens in Space sets this years. But I enjoy stories revolutions around heroes and villians. Edited January 13, 2024 by Lion King Quote
TeddytheSpoon Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Picked up the 6-wheeled rover to go with the construction mech. The windscreen was scratched, which sucks, but otherwise I love it! There are some great printed pieces in these sets. The only thing I would question is putting your vehicle's fuel cells right in the middle of two massive wheels kicking up dirt and rocks I guess it's not necessarily an explosive energy source, but still... Seeing a pile of black, orange and sand blue pieces did remind me of the Titan XP, and by extension the Creator Surveillance Drone (?) from a few years back. In the 'canon' of LEGO Space, such as it is, I wonder if the two factions could be somehow related. Perhaps separated by a few centuries when the robots have taken over! Quote
