Star Wars is not going anywhere

Not with that attitude it won't. 😁

We can all help it die. Just ignore it totally and don't watch or buy. There hasn't been a good SW movie for 40 years now anyway.

I liked Rogue one actually. Not a big fan of the new triology though. But Solo wasn´t that bad either IMO.

I also liked Rogue One, although I wonder if I actually liked the story or if I was enthralled by the returning characters. I need to watch it again and see how it stands up today. I haven't seen it since it was new. And it's already been 7 years since it came out? That's crazy.

Well... if we compare a bit. We have Galaxy Explorer and XL-15, also Blacktron Cruiser. That is only 3 spaceships. What is space in LEGO (2023-2024) ? ... is it ok to count technic sets, friends sets, Dreamzzz... even creator? OR should we talk about generally "classic themes" ... where Castle, Pirates and Space have all got new sets.

Could 2024 be a turning point, if Space sets sell well - could there be even more in WINTER 2024 and 2025? Factions like Blacktron, M-Tron, Ice Planet, even Classic Space what has been under CITY/Space.

Lego Space in 2024 is anything with the Space banner on the right edge of the box, with the possible exception of the Duplo and Classic brick boxes..

That's it! It's quite unambiguous.

I've changed my opinion about new "classic space" sets from Lego going forward.  Seeing what Lego is offering for space-themed sets across the line next year, I think it is just that.  I'm no longer expecting any more "re-imagined" Classic Space sets.  Seems we might get a Blacktron or some other re-make from the later subthemes, but I don't think we are going to get any new CS sets of any kind.  Note also the complete absence of any CS minifigs in the CMF "space" series.  We will get the pink space baby, but I see that as a complement to the blue one last year, so I'm not expecting any more colors in that fig either.  I really thought we would get a purple CS minifig, but no indication that will happen.  Makes me glad I bought all the purple parts last month to build several minifigs when the oxygen tanks were available through pick a brick.

My theory is that Lego Group is experimenting on bringing back Classic Space themes. If this new line works, Lego Group would have to consider making a true new Classic Space sets.

Most of this new sets are Sci fi or Nasa prototypes. They even included alien stuff. So to me, they are paving the way for new space theme sets.

Well if that's the case at least we get a new space baby and a part to finally fully complete the green spaceman. Still I do wish we got a new spaceman color, that or at least the helmet and tanks in gray but I guess the gray parts will be in next year's Chinese oriented set.

If we look how many sets are made by year it has increased. Near 1000. We have to be realistic. If space sells - we might even see a space theme.

It's worth noting that the white classic space minifigure is not being removed from PAB despite the red one being removed. Why would this be unless they're going to reuse that minifigure?

Looking right now, it looks like both red and white are still on the US/EU PAB, but out of stock, unless things looked differently before they Paused standard?

Right now everything not bestseller is listed out of stock.

Right, 10497 is still on the website also, but at "sold out" status.  It seems Lego just stops making a set/key parts but keeps them on the website until well after they are out of stock/sold out.  At what point does Lego list a set as "retired" vs. "out of stock" or "sold out"?  I think parts/sets listed on the Lego website as "out of stock" does not mean there is going to be more.  I think they use "back ordered" for items the will have in stock in the future.

10497 was known to be retired around 31 December 2023 for months now, so the "sold out" matches the "last chance" .

Usually LEGO does not remove products , often just labels it as Retired Product after the planned date (but if not sold out,  sometimes a set remains sold after an official retirement date, if they still have leftover product, but "Last Chance" is a pretty good indicator it was going away)

Sorry to put LEGO Technic video here BUT I have an idea. Could that spaceship be part of LEGO/City space sets (2024) ? That spaceship can carry modules. It is made for that. Smaller vehicle can also carry modules. NOW whole space station is build from those same modules. Also modules are used in rover and other spaceship (planet BASE).

I will buy those 2 sets and somehow try to put minifigures inside them. They are minifigure scale I think. Well they are not powered with Crystal-B ... BUT their LOGO is almost same. Like Space (2022) which sets I also have. Same Classic Space / City Space faction.

Sure it's using the same system, probably intention to draw in technic fans to minifigure, and minifigure fans to technic, same module system also seen on Friends (and City 2019 Space, 2020 Underwater, 2022 Space) .

Also the technic cockpits for 2024, look like they fit minifgures, the 2024 John Deere harvester even has a Minifigure seat.

I don't think they are designed around for actual minifgure scale, but especially for those Technic Space sets, scale doesn't matter that much as they are not meant to fit on a certain City road width, that Technic Mack Truck also looks like it can fit 1-2 figures, at 8 wide, it's perhaps a little big but within limits ,City Police has a 8 wide truck this year , and Friends had 10 wide bus multiple times (even tho friends are clearly meant to have interior/play , not realistic scale).

Scale is a variable thing anyway, or that 2022 City Space rocket would have to be 2 meters long to be a realistic SLS Artemis Rocket (if using very basic calculations of a 4cm=2 meter minifigure) (Artemis rocket is little under 100 meters (98), so 50x 4cm = 200cm)

Ok, that's look a bit too big for minifigures?

Technic space sets are bigger then minifig scale but those seats should still allow them in (but not connected)

I don't think this is experimenting in the way you think. While there is a faction that wants more classic space, it's pretty clear that 10497 did NOT sell well (for whatever reason you think that may be - I know people have different opinions on that set). LEGO KNOWS that space sells well between Ideas sets, Lunar Lander, etc., so this is just them capitalizing on that with a variety of space-inspired products to tie together themes.

It is sadly a bit presumptuous to think LEGO is moving towards more classic space when most of what is releasing for space fig-wise is more akin to mars mission than anything else.

Maybe testing to see if Space is popular enough with kids to warrant a full line, rather than just occasional AFOL-targeted D2C sets?

Source for this? Also, by what metric? A $100 nostalgia-driven set is never going to sell as many copies as a $10 City police car!

Is it possible to remove sets and replace with space seats?

The short answer is “Yes”, since this is LEGO; the longer answer is dependent upon the exact construction of the set and your skill with Technic (specifically in integrating System parts into Technic builds).
