Yeah, I'm blown away by how many cool printed parts this subtheme has! There are some sets with stickers (mostly the larger ones), but a lot of the small reusable details like the logos, indicators for the energy cells, and the targeting screens are all prints. Quote

You know, the one that originated in the 2006 episodes The Impossible Planet / The Satan Pit and had been used a lot since? I can see that! Combining the helmet with the orange 2022 suits would make a good purist version of that suit. 36 minutes ago, Lyichir said: Yeah, I'm blown away by how many cool printed parts this subtheme has! Even the stickers seem reusable, as the caution stripe ones in the mech appear to be clear-backed (per the instructions). Quote
Artanis I Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 I keep forgetting to say, but that photo jogged my memory, that the leg print weirds me out a bit. It looks like they're all wearing a cod-piece. Quote

That explains why they chose the yellow part sticker, while a yellow caution stripe 1x2 tile exists in the 2024 Crooks hideout, 4 clear stickers is cheaper then adding more printed parts (which this mech set already does have a good quanity of, 2 2x2 space logo tiles, and 3 1x1 battery tiles (+ 1 spare likely) Edited January 2, 2024 by TeriXeri Quote

JamesBenjamin Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Hello! I rarely stop by and chat, mostly I read here but wanted to let you know that the truck in the base/rocket set is meant to hold the pallet of space rocks held up by the crane in most of the pictures. So the miner goes and mines, loads stuff on the pallet, and then the truck takes it back to base. Quote

Yeah, I recently built the set on Stud.io (thanks to the newly released instructions) and noticed that it looks like the pallet could also be loaded into the module in the back of the rocket from that set. I also just tried to see if the space wheels I mentioned earlier would work for that little truck, but unfortunately it turns out they are slightly bigger than the wheel/tire combo used there so I'd have to at the very least raise the flatbed by a plate (and depending on how much clearance there is physically, potentially raise the cab by a plate as well). legoturtle Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Hello, does anyone know where in earth I could by this set? Quote

legoturtle Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Well, I think CITY/space and CITY/police sets (2024) are something very special. I don't understand what has happened. ALL of them are very well thought. You probably won't see this from images BUT when you start to read reviews and watch review videos like a bow - you have to be honest. We will have a ver special year 2024. What ever happened in LEGO, I do not know - but the quality of these sets and how much there are small little things in every sets. Mind blowing stuff! ... Prises here Finland are super low also. For example Interstellar spaceship is 18 euros and that space station 85 euros. Those will even come down when sales start. -20 % even -40 %. Quote

In the USA, the polybags usually show up at Target or Walmart at random times of year, sometimes around a holiday (like valentines or easter). Target will put them in the holiday section, walmart has a shelf of baskets in the lego section for them. Outside the USA I can't speak to. Quote
legoturtle Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Ok. So those are not sale LEGO official webstore? Maybe Briklink then... what is the idea of polybags? They are not magazine gifts I assume. Quote

legoturtle Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 ok, good to know. there are so many sets 2024 that I try to buy MAYBE I have to forgot polybags. Quote

legoturtle Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 1 polybag is 1 polybag. 2 is 2 and so on + all the other sets... 2024 will be the most expensive lego year for me... - Orient Express - Natural History Museum - all Space sets - all space tecnic sets - lego city police sets look nice (C.S.I. & Alcatraz) - Space CMF - black spaceship and there comes always suprises... CITY/Jungle an so on... Quote

And I can't buy them at Bricklink from a US seller. Phooey! Quote

CITY/Jungle an so on... Well you certainly don´t need to buy all of them this year (CMF ofc would be one you are better of buying close to release) since many of this Sets will stay around for another year - of course then there will be new sets and it won´t get any better. But sometimes this also helps deciding which sets you really want, since you can´t afford all sets you like and even more don´t have infinite space anyways. For Example I still have the Lion Knights Castle, Rivendell, Temple of the Golden Idol on the list, and soon enough we will get the next Sets with Medieval Market Square and the Dungeon and Dragon one. The Lion Knights Castle is maybe my favourite Set of all times, but I haven´t got it yet because it is going to stay around for a longer time (and because it wasn´t on sale for Black Friday, like it was in NA) - Rivendell on the other side, while beeing a very beautiful Set, and I like the Lord of The Rings and the Minifigs included might be a Set I will not get in the end, because of the reasons mentioned above. The Temple of the Golden Idol is sitting somewhere in between those two. Quote

Finland is the (or at least one) exception. The prices are routinely higher here, from S@H but also in most retail stores (albeit to a lesser extent). @legoturtle - let me know if you find somewhere that has it! I quite like the look of the polybag too. In the meantime, I've picked up the mech. I was debating whether to go for that or the smaller rocket ship first but my wallet won out in the end; I expect I'll pick up the 6-wheeled rover soon too. My first thought with the helmet is how it would look for a purist Halo Spartan, maybe in conjunction with the armour. Quote
legoturtle Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Bricklink Price super LOW about 4-5 €. BUT... the thing is that we need to buy all SPACE sets this year from all themes. That is a lot of money. IF we can manage this we will get 99 % -> OWN SPACE THEME, launching between 2025-26..... Quote

The chances for an own Space Theme are incredible low IMO, same as for Pirates and Castle. They could do it, if they wanted but they clearly don´t want to - especially not when they are doing retro Sets for that themes already - or can just add it to the city line. If thoses Sets sell well it might increase the chance for a new City Space-wave but I doubt it would bring a new space theme. Quote

playgood Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 I don't think we'll get a dedicated line of space sets. But maybe we'll get something like "City Space explores an Ice Planet". A spiritual successor to a previous theme, but without the neon 80s/90s aesthetic. 🤷♂️ Quote
