The ones in the new City sets seem less like a faction and more like the extraterrestrial equivalent of harmless wildlife (like squirrels in Earth-based City sets, for instance).

The backpack used by the green (technically bright green) astronauts (and the 2022 ones) is available in red via the new fire plane, as well as in black. Green’s helmet is also available in blue, dark blue, green, bright light orange, and teal. 
Blue and green’s helmets fit the classic airtanks, while orange unfortunately does not.

Or something like the White + Teal Torso/Legs and Helmets from the recent Monkie Kid sets, even without backpacks it still has some cloud-shaped "space" logo (Galactic Explorer came with 4 suits + helmets)

Other than Space CMF Series annd rumored Icons Moment “black ship” set, are we sure there won’t be more Space sets later this year?

The 10341 Icons licensed space set is rumored to be $260 and ~3300p for June. Also there's a rumor of a $250 Technic Apollo lunar rover.

As far as I know, the rumored release would be in April. But we shall see.

Considering that we have not gotten any information beyond the initial report of a black spaceship with two Minifigs and multiple interchangeable heads, I suspect that it has been delayed. 😕

It was first rumoured to release in 2023 so it has been delayed - or that dates were just wrong. But that Set surely beeing exclusive to Lego for the first 3 months at least - and after that likely just sold by one of Legos Partners, similar to the Galaxy Explorer I wouldn´t put to much in not having much information yet - after all for the Medieval Town Square we don´t really have any news either aside from price and piece count (which we already have for the Black Spaceship for a while) And the medieval town square is supposed to be released one month earlier than the space ship after all.

The rumors had beeen surfaced in August / September 2023. So the reliable leaker  (Brickclickeer?) was not sure WHEN - he did assume it was either October or April. 

Galaxy Explorer was supppsoed to be retired by end of 2023, according to the inital information. As of right now, it is still siting on the sheles. So…I guess the black spaceship set could be released in April this year but  who knows.

Maybe it sold better than expected, so LEGO is keeping it around for a bit longer (and pushed the black spaceship back as a result)? 🤔

Possibly but it’s hard to tell. We have so many Modular Buillding Collection, Botantical Collection and other Icons sets still on shelves. 

I don’t think it will be an issue to have two non-licensed spaceships on shelves?

The set is retired (it is marked as old product in the german online shop) however possible they produced more to sell them before christmas but production got delayed or whatever. Anyways I think when the ones they have in stock still are gone, there won´t be more of them.

Galaxy Explorer is retired on European LEGO.com sites, but there have been cases where "old" sets have been sold for longer, 2020 City Police Station was like available in 2022 for a while too. (and that set wasn't great so probably overproduced leftovers)

Yeah on Lego.com here (in EU) it's indeed retired, I think since the new year.
Funny enough, 2 of the biggest local toy stores still seem to have major stock of the model. Seeing how fast some other Icons sold (the ECTO-1 was hard to get, the BTTF Time Machine I've never even seen at an actual local store), I am surprised considering the affordable price and the good value what we get for it. Even at 10% discounted price, they still got full racks.

Can't wait to see what the 10391 is gonna be. Honestly I haven't been a fan of the old Renegade (I really dislike the main cockpit being off center and the rather simple design without much storage) and I'd be surprised if they redid a second Blacktron set. Personally I would really enjoy a new SP Mission Commander though... Loved its unique cockpit & hidden rover mechanic, and maybe with modern techniques we can do this without sacrificing the entire middle section's usability.

Interesting that 10497 is back in stock at U.S. Lego.com.  Looks like Lego stores I checked in the upper mid-west are out of stock, so maybe this is only available through the website at this point.  It was sold out on the website by the morning hours of Black Friday, so some where between then and this past week Lego U.S. found more stock.  Walmart is sold out, and they were selling them at $48.50 about 1.5 weeks before Christmas.  They went fast.  Glad I got 3 from the local store.  The only ones for sale on Walmart now are other sellers selling through Walmart's website. 

Now I'm curious how long U.S. Lego.com will have stock before being sold out again and ultimately retired?

A large interstellar transport ship, a larger mining vehicle, a smaller base (can connect to the existing one), a small space outpost (can connect to the large station), and a few ~$11 sets like a rover or a speeder would be a perfect second wave. 
I would also like to see a new colour; red feels like the obvious choice, and it has a dark shade that can be used for the team’s leader. 
 

And then in a third wave, a new monorail system/ set.

All of your suggestions are great ideas for  future sets and would add alot to the current  sets. Or ideas for MOCs.

What is 2HY?

If they used the roller coaster tracks, how are they going to motorize it, without making it to complex  for kids to built. The custom motorized monorail might not pass the LEGO  standards. Think about the Orient Express and how they said it " couldn't be motorized" ( it did not meet their standard for their trains)
