August 22, 2024Aug 22 Everyone drop everything there’s a new Classic Spaceman colour! They’re making the causal outfits for the DREAMZzz characters available through BAM, and they’ve snuck in a Classic Spaceman torso in navy blue as Mr. Oz’ casual shirt! No sign of air tanks or helmet yet, sadly, but this is still exciting!
August 23, 2024Aug 23 How do you get those through BAM? I've not done a BAM, but look through it I don't see an option for anything but a white torso that you can decorate with one of the many options for designs.

They are the build-a-Minifig bins/packed boxes (depending on the store) found in LEGO stores. You can either buy directly from the store, or through BrickLink if you do not have a store near you (which is how I got the City Space BAM parts). Just so that we are all clear, Mr. Oswald wears a dark blue CS shirt under his lab coat in the Dreamzzz show, so this is not an indication one way or another about the prize machine Spaceman colour. LEGO just took the opportunity to give us a new CS torso instead of just a CS reference on a lab coat torso. I also personally suspect that we will get a helmet and airtanks in dark blue in a random set at some point in the near future, as we did with purple and green.

No Lego store near me, but last time I visited one on a trip this summer I got several of the City Space figures piecing them together from the build-a-minifig bins. However, the City Space minifig parts are also available through Lego PAB ordering. Wonder if these purple CS torsos will show up on there also? When you reference ordering on Bricklink, I assume that is just buying from private sellers on there (and whatever price they charge), not from Lego.

Are you saying there are heroes working within Lego to keep Space alive? I choose to believe it.

There are probably fans of almost all past Lego themes working there, so that isn´t really a surpirse. I mean just look at all the references we got in sets over the years. Well anyways, although this is the 2024 Space Sets topic, since we got a castle set this year, there is a good chance we will see a space set again next year, so what would you all love to see? I would guess an other faction aside from the classic spacemen would be more likely, thought I wouldn´t say it is exactly unlikely to do a classic space Set again. That beeing said I would love to se a remake of the 6971 Inter-Galactic Command Base. That one would benefit greatly from a modernized version, and also has good potential to add playability with the base, the rocked the small ground vehicle and the little spaceship. Not gonna lie, the minifigs were also part of the reason why I would love to get that one, since it would bring back the blue, black and yellow classic space minifigures.

As I mentioned before in m post here, I really don’t think they would continue giving us more than one Spae sets as the rumored F1 mega theme might take up spots. But I don’t see a problem if they do ONE Space set like Galaxy Explor I would prefer Blacktron spaceship over Pharrell William’s silly spaceship. And I would like to see more alien minifigures like ones from earl 2000s.

Well given we only got one Set after Lion Knights Castle and the Galaxy Explorer for the 90 years celebration, might be we won´t see two, but I wouldn´t rule it out completely. Well and additional to that some nice GWPs.

Not too crazy about GWPs except for Modular Building vehicles. Sometimes Space, Pirate and Castle GWPs are letdowns.

Well and additional to that some nice GWPs. We have been getting 1-2 standard release 18+ throwback sets each year since 2020, so I can absolutely see us getting something in 2025. Also, since Castle (4 sets) and Pirates (2 sets) currently outnumber Space (1 set), that seems to be the most likely option for 2025. 2020: PoBB 2021: Blacksmith 2022: LKC, Galaxy Explorer 2023: Eldorado Fortress, Viking Village 2024: MTS Edited August 24, 2024Aug 24 by Classic_Spaceman

Your options for getting BAM parts are to either go to a LEGO store, or buy the pieces from a seller on BrickLink. Edited August 24, 2024Aug 24 by Classic_Spaceman
August 24, 2024Aug 24 I actually have a theory as to why we did not get a Classic Space 18+ capstone set for the Year of Space. First, LEGO wanted to get the MTS out while the LKC was still available (as the latter is clearly a companion piece to the former), and pushing the LKC’s retirement out by another 1-2 years would potentially interfere with future 18+ throwback offerings. Second, and more significantly IMO, LEGO wanted to drive up sales of other sets in the Space megatheme. The 2024 City and Friends Space offerings are excellent, but a classic 18+ set would have absolutely stolen the spotlight (especially if it were as affordable as the GE!) and could potentially have decreased sales of the other sets. By waiting until 2025 to drop a classic remake, LEGO would maximise overall sales from Space/classic themes fans.
September 3, 2024Sep 3 So we're getting a new Classic Spaceman color! I guess that means the next large end of the year LNY/Monkee Kid/Ninjago set won't have a classic space helmet and tanks in light bluish gray, but in dark blue instead. looks like we'll have wait and see. September 4, 2024Sep 4 Looks like a rather "unexciting" build. Ship is all black other than the gold canopy, and the long rainbow "jet stream" looks pretty monotonous to build. Even with a massive discount on price, I don't think I could get interested in this set. Unclear to me what Lego was thinking on this one unless Mr. Williams was just given cart blanche to design a set.
September 4, 2024Sep 4 I'll repeat what I said on Brickset: 'Who asked for this? A small snub fighter trying to out run a giant rainbow-colored pickle with as side build of an abacus made of human heads?'
September 4, 2024Sep 4 It will no doubt be based on something from the upcoming movie. But to a Lego Space fan like myself, it has very little appeal.
