Hello, everyone! I hope my entry is not too late. Very much an amateur, and I built this with my son using pieces from the original El Dorado, Imperial Trade Post, Cannon Cove, Lagoon Lockup, and a few others.

"Just beyond the eastern horizon from the stout walls of El Dorado fortress, Governor Broadside's Garrison is built securely into a small volcanic atoll. With a strong belt of smaller forts and outposts in all directions, and a fleet of ships prowling the seas in search of bands of Redbeard's marauding pirates, the Governor retreats here to conduct most of his business, send and receive correspondence, and rest his busy mind.

A strong garrison of soldiers protects this citadel on the high seas, maintaining a 24-hour watch of the horizon with a battery of cannon at the ready to repel any potential pirate blockade runners seeking to raid the Governor's mansion. Soldiers rotate on and off duty, taking shift on the watch while also enjoying the mess hall and resting in their barracks. All of these amenities can be accessed through removable walls on two sides of the watch tower barracks.

The Governor's cabin can also be accessed by removing a wall, to reveal his desk, his personal affects displayed by the windowsill, and most importantly his bed which conceals the riches confiscated from imperial raids against pirate strongholds. Should Redbeard ever slip past the fleet and forts beyond the horizon and attack the garrison in earnest, the Governor is prepared to slip away through his secret escape hatch! Concealed beneath his cabin is a swift, stout skiff armed with a small swivel gun. With this as his fallback, the Governor can escape if needed to quickly outrun his adversaries and rendezvous with the Caribbean Clipper. But can his garrison survive a pirate raid? Can the Governor outrun his attackers on the high seas? Only you can decide when you build Governor Broadside's Garrison!"

Nice work!  The overall silhouette is very nice and follows the role of thirds.  The colors are good, very classic, although there's a lot of monotone walls with very little texture.  One exception is the tower (and a few other spots) where round yellow bricks break up the corner very nicely.  I'd like to see more stuff like that throughout the build.

The concept is quite solid, a good mash-up of Eldorado and the Imperial Trading Post.  Nice minifigure selection, although it could use a pirate or two.  A parrot would also bring it to life a bit more.

There are a lot of good interior details, but in the end this feels to me more like a MOC than an official set; but overall this is fun to look at and really feels like it belongs in the classic pirates theme.  Looks good to me!

That's one impressive fort true to the 90s. You and your son did a great job!

I just have a couple of notes:
- Some extra cannons could be used, it seems like only one side is defended.
- There's the governor's hidden boat, nice, but you could add another boat by the dock for the other soldiers.

This is a fun build. As has been said it fits will with the 90's era builds.

One comment is that since the bed is all white, it gets lost against the backdrop. I'd suggest adding some color to it so that it is more visible.  Also, can you add more pictures here?

By calling yourself an "amateur" I think you underestimating yourself, this is great, there's a place to eat, sleep, and guard. Here are my suggestions's, first I think there should be an armory, and that small swivel gun I don't think is small enough, perhaps...

That's my suggestion, other than this I would try and make the back of the build a bit more open so the builder can fit their hands in there. The colors could be spread over the build some more because right now it looks like one side is yellow and the other white, just adding a bit more yellow to the white and vice versa could go a long way. Anyway, you did a great job here so happy building :)
