The critic comments - are these supposed to be 1) put with the votes in the voting thread, or 2) votes in the thread, separate comments in each build topic?

Both, depending upon how long the critic comments are.

We just want a quick summary in the voting topic, a paragraph at most.  But if a critic has more to say, then the comments should be posted in each entry  topic.

Okay cool, that works. I'll pop a short line with each vote about why I'm voting that one over anything else, then I'll work my way through any topics that I want to add final thoughts to.

I didn't want to write in the voting thread, so i'll use this one if i may...

@Jack Sassy i think You gave one vote too many in the Main Category ;) There's 6 instead of 5...

@Mister Phes One question. Does every vote count the same, and so positions 1-5 in everyone's post gain the same amount of points, irrelevant of what position are they on? Or does it indeed matter if they are classified on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd... etc place?

All votes are equal weight.  Position is irrelevant.

Thanx for updating the Index @Mister Phes! It's both very clear and not too excessively categorized now :)

Also working on a quick overview layout too...

Also need to think of some creative ideas for promoting voting outside the forum...

Just spread the word that there's free rum for all those joining... we'll explain later that it simply rum-out too fast ;)

Hay @Yoggington how did You do this "reveal hidden content" thing? I was planning to add my comments differently, but i think Your idea is brilliant, as it allows to throw in a lot of final thoughts into the post, while hiding it at the same time, to make voting choices stand out for clarity.

Use the spoiler tag! It's the eye next to the smilie.

You just use the tags
..content here..
to create a collapsible spoiler tag.

Or the button as Yperio mentioned, for the same effect.

@Mister PhesWhen I click at at the picture of my own mini build (Ritual Sacrifice, the one with King Kahuka and a pirate) I do not go to my post with the build, instead it leads to "[CONTEST] Building Entries Index - UPDATED 28 August, 2023"

@Mister PhesCan you please help me with the link. When I click all the other builds I go directly to that build

Aye, it's fixed. But please don't post questions in the Voting topic.

Return of the Classic Pirates Contest
Extending Voting to Facebook Group Members

Now that entries have closed and voting is underway, contest activity has considerably lessened.

As an initiative to improve accessibility and encourage wider involvement, voting could be extended to Classic Pirates Facebook Group members so they can vote within the group.

We would make this initiative available towards the end of the voting period as our primary objective is to first encourage people to vote in LEGO Pirates Forum Voting topic.

The Facebook Group has attracted almost 10,000 members and the viral nature of social media allows the Classic Pirates community to extend its reach further, so it's important not to waste this exposure, given the considerable time and resources invested in the organisation and management of the contest.

Hello, after seeing GabKemo's vote I think there should be a rule that you can only vote for one of the builder's entries, if you want to vote for that person vote for their best entry and not all of their entries. Otherwise people with more entries will have an unfair advantage. Someone who has five lower effort entries will have more votes then the person with a one high effort entry I don't think thats fair

It might look like this but i think the effect is pretty small if there is any effect at all. The votes will not be combined and still count for the individual mocs only. I guess it is to late anyway for changing voting rules but i am sure the staff will keep all suggestions in mind for the future contests

Because after contest is before contest or how is the saying? :pir_laugh2:

That is correct.

Also, each entrant can only win one prize.

I think MyFirstMOC-Hun is clearly cheating judging by the latest votes from new members voting only for them (and maybe should be disqualified)

We're monitoring the situation...

Glad others have mentioned it too, there's something clearly going on with MyFirstMOC's entries, I mean just yesterday two new members from Hungary voted for their entries only and then a different one made a whole thread dedicated to the same entries, very fishy if you ask me.
