Sora and Lloyd have leaked on another poster I guess in legoland, new shoulder armour with 2 sword holders parallel like skybound armour. Pad on right side. Sora has a new suit (at last) that looks awesome, and the new hair and half mask. I guess they decided to go all in on the hairpiece because of the prominence of it in the show for the next season. Can’t see much of Lloyd but he has the island hair. I really do wish that they didn’t retire those older moulds.

Possible spoiler - Also I think Lloyd has arm printing, and Sora has 2 gold arms? I wonder if she loses one?

The arm printing seems to be shared in both of these suits. So that doesn't mean that Sora would lose an arm.

Soooooooo Chima just got confirmed!

Yes!! I knew Ras was from Chima! Based on his description, it seems like Chima is part of the Wyldness rather than the other way around. 🤔
BTW, according to Tommy Andreasen, there is a passage to other Realms located under the Forever Rock, so perhaps that is how Ras got to Imperium in the first place.

This is absolutely insane, I love it. I like the idea of the separate action themes being part of the same wider universe.

Chima has been part of the Ninjago-verse since Possession.

I believe that those are their tournament suits! The new shoulder armour seems to be the same one that Zane wears in the other display. I would normally be annoyed by the reused Island hairpieces, since the Ninja do not usually wear headbands, but I think that it suits the tournament theme.

Lloyd and Sora both have the same two gold arms with printing; also, Sora’s gold arm was confirmed last year to just be armour rather than a prosthetic.

They aren't making Sora lose her arm. Out of universe it's likely to make her figure consistent with the other figures- her arms look near-identical to Lloyd's.

Really glad that Sora and Arin are finally gonna get new suits. It's also great to see new shoulder pads.

As for the suits themselves, Sora looks pretty cool, but I don't like those golden arms on Lloyd.

I really meant in the show. She lost one arm and got a prosthetic, now she has 2 gold arms…

Her arm is not a prosthetic, it's just armour. A part of her outfit.

The armoured arms are also a part of the Summer outifts — that's why Sora and Lloyd share the same arm design in the leaked banner.

I was under the impression that the arm was a prosthetic from imperium given the colour scheme. Either way, it’s a cool design.

Same, it's actually weird that it's not. It really looks like it.

According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, the metal on her left arm is just armor and not a prosthetic robot arm.

Just realised I never got round to posting my thoughts, so better late than never:

Young dragon Riyu - absolutely awesome impulse buy set, comes with new Sora hair and regular Arin, plus a wolf dude, which is nice to get another given the large army seen in trailers. Apart from the hair not much else going on figure wise. Riyu is an interesting build, all the images on the page do him dirty though. He looks much better in the 360 video, but I can’t lie the head looks awful from most angles over than side on. Like a confused owl most of the time. for £13 though it’s a solid deal. Can’t complain.

Lloyds elemental mech - another mech, ok? Lloyd and Nya are cool but come with Egalt anyways. Unless you want it for parts or for the mech combo feature, there’s nothing really going for it (apart from a cheap way to get cinder I guess). Decent price for what you get if it’s similar to  Sora’s mech.

Arins buggy - very sleek build, I like the look of it. Quite similar to the rock roader which is one of my favourite ninjago sets, the back wings look awesome, cool hook and suspension. Figs are alright, climber Cole is absolutely stellar, love his suit, cinder again and Arin and wolf mask. I love the big wheels too, always happy to see those in a cheap set. Except it’s not. It’s £45. Absolutely ridiculous, I feel so bad for the designer who had to see this go for a ludicrous discount before it can be brought. I echo the sentiment that I hope Lego takes this as “overpriced won’t sell” not “Arin won’t sell”. hopefully it’s much bigger in hand.

Climber Kai mech - Ok this is incredibly cool. I’ve had a sketch MOC on my table for a while with the same leg design, so it’s actually really cool to see an official set with the same (albeit likely sturdier) design. When I saw the leaks of this I wasn’t sold on its spindly limbs but I’ve done a complete 180, I love its overall stance and design language. Very pacific rim crimson typhoon like.  Big muscular shoulders are good, and the mounting of the second set of arms are great. I don’t like the lack of elbows, that’s a definite downside but it also makes up for it by introducing the EVO joints in black, shame we didn’t get those for the venom mech. Double swords are cool, and the cockpit is pretty exposed which is less cool. I’m with Jang on this one, Cockpits should be fully enclosed. The second arm set is also so damn cool, my MOC has a tiny set of arms then a much bigger one like the EVO combo mech, but I’m considering just giving it 4 big arms. Better to stay different though, they’re similar enough as is. Getting back on track, I love the new hook parts, and the fact it can just hang on the cable is an amazing play feature. I can’t wait to see this thing in animation. Figs are alright, Climber Kai, Jay and Wyldfire are the big draws, shame we get Jordana AGAIN though. After 4 figs in the £25 Kai mech set I’d expect more for one more than double it’s size and price. Speaking of which, It’s also decently priced, I’m so glad it’s £60 and not £75 because that was flat out ridiculous for the Lloyd and Arin mechs. Minifig gripes aside, definitely a contender for favourite mech yet.

Shadow dojo - This feels like classic Ninjago, big old temple with tons of play features, and a really fun look. Surprised at how accurate it is to the show. Figure selection is stunning, Nya, Kai, Lloyd and Zane all in climber suits, and the 4 main villain figs. Blood moon looks amazing, very foreboding, and the scenery around it is also cool. Matches what we see in the Sora mech. I love the arena at the front too. Temple itself feels a little sparse but I imagine the budget was stretched thin and far here, and at £105 it feels like a bit too much. £100 is a perfect price for it. Good nostalgic type of set.

Dragon stone shrine - the other £105 set, this is the complete opposite of the dojo. This is modern Ninjago at its peak. A more challenging build, again, decent figures, although it’s a shame we won’t get Nyas Hood to go with her figure if anyone was missing it. Nice to see Lloyd in his new robes here, but he really deserves a cape. Euphrasia is amazing, glad we are getting her in a set so soon, but where the hell does she put all that hair under the hood? Ras is cool, and a new Wu, which may mean he’s back now (I hope not, I hope we don’t get just one season with missing characters and then that’s it all done back to status quo. I would have used the budget to upgrade Arin a bit I think). The build itself is beautiful, stunning scenery and location design. I like the temple inside with the Chi crystal and the hidden book. The tree is a wonderful touch too. Unfortunately it falls short at the price. £105 feels way too much for this, I get it’s a detailed and parts dense build but at the end of the day that doesn’t look like £105 worth of plastic. More around £70-80 I would say. Which is a shame because it’s obvious that designers have put a lot of love and care into it. I’ll grab it on sale eventually, but it’s going to be an expensive year.

And thus ends my rambling of these sets, if you have read for this long I applaud you. Can’t wait to start seeing reviews of these sets appear now.

The special base that they sent out to some reviewers is absolutely gorgeous and I really wish it was part of the set. I’m so tempted to try to make something similar on my own and add this to Ninjago City that way. Would it be too gaudy and crowded next to the Gardens’ Titanium Ninja memorial?

I definitely think it should be on its own, I’m thinking on a baseplate of water that has a small ring of stone around it, then connected to the wider Ninjago city waterways. I really wish it did come with that base though, it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Also we are all assuming that build on the wall in the temple is definitely the tournament temple city right? It looks absolutely beautiful. Hopefully it has a water base so it can somewhat interact with the ninjago city modulars as a baseplate behind the city, not actually connected to it in any way (say you had a full square of city sets, in a 3x3 pattern, the TTC would go in the centre).

Edit: Nvm got to that part in the video

I’m in a somewhat hairy spot where I’ve pulled back the water from the ‘front’ of my Ninjago City (which currently consists of the Docks split in two and used as end modules, the Gardens, and a custom ‘harbour berth’ inside corner module. I’m in the process of merging the new CNY Family Reunion set with the 16x32 part of the Docks that has Mystake’s Tea Shop after moving them all onto a slightly longer table, and have the Titanium shrine adjacent to my custom Harbour and the Docks’ Tea Shop (with a walkway extended across the Harbour to connect to the Shrine, which will be turned into a complete loop once I’ve added the Reunion restaurant to it). This has left me with an approximately 25x16 stud space next to the Titanium shrine at the corner of the table that I’m not sure what to do with, and adding the Dragonstone Temple as a second island there is tempting since it looks about the right size. Since I’ve effectively designated the entire ‘water’ side of the table, with the Docks and the Harbour, as a shipping port, putting the Temple there would block egress from the port (and be hanging over the edge of the table).

If anyone’s curious, I’d be happy to share pictures.

. . though, actually, hey. The Docks and Harbour are effectively forming two berths with a space in between them. If I redo that area carefully enough and give it the necessary support, I just might be able to make Dragonstone serve as a sort of giant lighthouse statue that frames the harbour, with the internal water area being contextualised as a sort of tide pool. That could be really cool.

Last year we had the magazine fig list leaked, I'm guessing that was a one off but it's be nice be know, I hope we get the mech suits as I'm not much interested the sets that include them.

Still incredibly disappointed that Sora and Arin seeming aren't getting mech or climber suits. Glad that they are at least getting the summer wave ones.

And I do still think that Sora has a prosthetic arm despite comments to the contrary. I mean the arm is gold in her casual outfit too.

That list made planning on which set to buy so much better. I still hope that maybe we would get something similar this year.

At least with mech suits for Cole and Jay I personally think that the sets are a better option, like the Cole mech is a great build and you can easily get it on a discount for about $16, and the Jay mech speaks for itself . even the Kai mech with 4 figures for only $30 feels great. Also the main build in that set is like really great, like that set was praised in every single review that I saw.(but with all that I don't think that it's a must have set, $30 is still something) So personally I don't care that much about the mech suits being included in the magazines.  But I'd like for them to include as much of the climber suits as possible. since half of the suits are exclusive to a $120 set, Jay is only in a $70 set. Cole is in the cheapest set, but that set is super overpriced, and also $50 still isn't little.

Also all of the s1 suits were available on Pick a brick. So maybe all of this year's suits would also be included there.

Thanks for the interest! I’m getting the CNY Family Reunion restaurant literally today, so give me a day or two to put it together and get it installed then I’ll share!

Just built Egalt the Master Dragon, it's a fantastic set.

Definitely one of my favourite LEGO dragons ever. I love how unique it is — the master aesthetic with the sword, hat, moustache, and beard. The simple colour scheme is great, the red details are a nice touch too.

The minifigures are awesome. I love the new Ninja suits, Nya's in particular. The masks are less bulky than expected, and I like how sharp they are around the eyes.

As for the Dragon Stone Temple, I think we were all expecting something more grandiose, similar to the grandeur of Ninjago City itself. But as we learned, sometimes what we get is more like "Ninjago Village" in comparison. Nevertheless, the craftsmanship of the set does capture the essence of Ninjago's mystical charm, even if it can't grab our wallets as easily.

As for the price, we can probably say that the designers went a little overboard with their "price increase with spinjitsu" technique. But let's not lose heart and pin even higher hopes on Shadow Dojo. Who knows? Maybe it's just the hidden gem we're all looking for in this wave of sets.

What do you mean? It's been revealed a week ago along with all the other March sets.
