This looks wild! Not much new stuff, apart from 2 big things. 1st, I think one of the new locations in the trailer is the tournament temple city, considering if that pic in the dragon stone shrine is it. Roofs look similar. And 2, the biggest one, there’s a frame with Lloyd looking at several source dragon spirits(?) and I think these may be the same spirits mentioned in the unconfirmed set descriptions we got a while back. I don’t see why that specific detail wouldn’t be mentioned in leaks if it wasn’t gonna be in the show.

Well that confirms it was Nya and not Jay in that original teaser.

Am curious who these Forbidden 5 are. Something related to Chima perhaps?

Personally I hope it’s a set up for future villains, a bit like the second (modern) Jurassic park film where at the end the dinos escape into the wild. The ninja lose, and the forbidden 5 are set loose. That’s 5 seasons, plus one more for Ras’s master easily.

funny how imperium and the empress and all that was just a facade for Ras though.

Another theory I’ve seen being speculated is that Egalt is actually evil and working for his own gains, as the mystery source dragon he was exiled and stripped of his power, and now using his influence with visions he’s tricked Lloyd to be his conduit, so secretly Egalt is the big bad (and maybe even Ras’s master?). This I personally love and although it’s unlikely, I still think it could be one of the best twist villains ever.

for anyone wondering, a more accurate summer 2024 figure list is out and the descriptions that surfaced in february are accurate, however their fig selection is not as accurate as this, there are also more descriptions of the build in the sets

Spoiler

Summer 2024 Wolf Warriors will get a new color scheme (purple and red), to represent their Blood Moon powers and will get large transparent claw moulds

71816: Tournament Zane

71818: Tournament Kai, Tournament Sora, Evil Jay, Tox, Cinder, Wolf Warrior

71820: Tournament Lloyd, Tournament Sora, Tournament Cole, Tournament Kai, Wolf Mask Warrior, Wolf Mask General.

71821: Exclusive White and Orange Cole, more figures that we don't know, but i assume Tournament Arin, Garmadon, Lord Ras, Cinder, Wolf Mask Warrior

71822: ?maybe exclusive? Kai, ?maybe exclusive? Wyldfyre, Tournament Arin, Lord Ras, Jordana, Wolf Mask Warrior

71818 can be combined with the tournament temple city

Very interesting. What’s the source?

Never mind I found it.

Yeah, I'm surprised that not many people are talking about this. This is the same site that gave us accurate descriptions of the march sets before they were revealed, especially with the figure selection. The description of the Tournament Arena sounds awesome, two dueling platforms with traps, and a statue of a mysterious Master Wu looking character. Could it be the person in the secret book in the Dragon Stone Shrine? Maybe he was the original master of the shadow dojo. Cole's mech is supposed to use the ornithopter wings for swords, which speaks to how large this mech is. Finally, a new piece is used for the 'spectral forms' of the other source dragons, as well as the dragon having a 'throne' and 'gong'. Maybe a good counterpart of the gong of shattering?

I suspect Tox is not actually Tox, but a new master of poison.I also suspect the 'general' in the combo vehicle is another one of the forbidden five, with the other two/three (is Cinder one of them?) in Cole's mech. The biggest bummer is no mention of Ra's master in the dragon. That was one of the coolest parts of the original description to me. I hope this is an error and he's still in there, but I guess we're still getting plenty of new villains in this wave.

I didn't expect descriptions now, from the source they are most likely to be real.

Now I do have to say that the tournament arena might be my favorite set, There are plent of obstacles and traps which an arena should have. Also the minifigures selection is great, and the value of it sounds amazing.

I'm actually kinda happy that Ras's master isn't included in the Source dragon, since it's shapeing them up to be a bigger threat the more they wait to reveal them.

The Cole mech could be the only set where the other members could be included, but I also think that Tox could be one of them.

Cinder being one of the Forbidden Five, doesn't really sound that great to me, since bringing the Forbidden five back is the big plan for Ras, and also mystery, so it's kind weird for one of them to be just there with Ras, so he could be just some random evil elemental master. But on the other hand he is shown to be really powerful and he is the only one who knows Shatter spin for now at least, and also he kinda appers out of nowhere so there is a chance, but I doubt it.

Didn't think of it that way. If he really is the overarching villain of DR, then yes, it would be better for later on. Who knows right now though.

I was counting Tox in that number, since counting her and the general gives us 2/5 so far. The thing with Cinder is that it would be confusing to me to have a villain group that is all elemental masters, but also have another evil elemental master that isn't part of that group involved in the story. Just seems like a strange choice. Honestly, it doesn't make sense either way, unless he's related to one of them or something.

I haven’t been keeping up with the plot as much recently. Is there any chance “Evil Jay” is one of the forbidden five?

Doubtful. Jay's currently in the realm of madness with The Administration. And apparently has amnesia. (But hasn't seen the other Ninja since the Merge so that might not be true)

Edit: A thought occurred. Where would the forbidden five be brought back from? As if all realms are merged then the departed realm is merged as well? Or was that excluded?

Climber Kai will be included in the next ninjago magazine.

I do have to say that this is the worst one they could have possibly added, since he is the only climber ninja that isn't exclusive to a single set, litterally any other ninja would have been better.

But what's great about that is the fact that it appers as if they are skipping the mech suits, so with that we could have more of the climber suits, which would be great. Especially when we didn't have Cole in the s1 magazines, so there is a big chance that he could be included. But maybe they will comeback to the mech suits, it was a really weird situation with the Wolf Warrior.

According to a description in Shatterspin issue #2, Garmadon will face a new foe called The Lycan King. From the name I think this guy could be Lord Ras master and I say this because it would fit with the leader of the Wolf Clan being literally the king of the wolves. Also, if the old descriptions of the summer sets were true, Ras master is the guy depicted in the Gong of Shattering and that is a wolf so everything fits.

That could be the case, but on the other hand it feels weird for such a important villain who is big mystery to just be revealed in a book.  That might just be someone completely different. I could easly see Ras's Master being above the Lycan king, while the Lycan king still has some power over the wolf clan, he still has to follow the actual Master's orders.

But I do have to say now that the descriptions feel really weird. Like Ras's master had a full on description, but In the new descriptions he just isn't there. And the new descriptions should be based on the same information, since they still have most stuff the same, with some changes that could fit with the other descriptions, like the 2 previously unknown characters in the  Arena being reveald.

I was kinda hoping for Cole, so I could skip the set he's in. The vehicle doesn't appeal, and with only Climber Cole being exclusive to said set I could easily ignore it if he pops up on a magazine.

Or even Jay, given he's the only Climber Mech exclusive.

Kai, Zane, Lloyd and Nya all appear in the temple so that's somewhat reasonable to obtain those 4 In one go, and Kai is in two other sets

Just built the Young Dragon Riyu set while catching up on the last episode of the previous season of Dragons Rising!

The set is fantastic—I love how good the shaping is and the amazing color scheme. It's probably my favorite small dragon build so far in the theme. I hope this isn't the end of Riyu's growth, though—I can definitely see the potential for him to become an even bigger dragon!

As for the show, I continue to be impressed. The characterization is great and the visuals are definitely better than they've ever been. One thing I'd noticed that this last episode reinforced is how trans-coded Sora feels—not in that I think the character herself is necessarily trans (that would be cool, but I don't think Lego's brave enough to make something like that text, at least not yet), but in how I feel like trans people could relate to her in multiple ways (her cute cat-ear aesthetic and pink/white/blue color scheme, the way she chose a name for herself, and the way her parents continued to trust dubious authority figures over their own child's experience and sense of self). The way her parents essentially dismissed the video that exposed the Empress's evil as well as her subsequent breakdown as "fake news" felt very pointed and topical.

Looking forward to the new season of the show as well as getting more of this year's sets (I've already picked up Egalt the Master Dragon but will probably wait until the new season debuts to build him, and there are plenty more still on my wishlist).

I haven't seen the show but I'm glad I'm not the only one who got that vibe with Sora. Probably not specifically what they were but I appreciate it nonetheless.

As far as the summer stuff goes, at this point I'm just taking a wait-and-see approach. The summer leaks have been pretty weird this year (just look at what's going on with Star Wars and the leakers going silent), so I feel like it just makes more sense to give it some time. We should probably know more pretty soon anyway, the official reveals can't be more than two months away and we'll probably get something more concrete before that.

Absolutely! Euphrasia, as well; she only got one episode in S1, but her story is one of coming out despite her religious family/community telling her that she “should not” be the way that she is. I look forward to seeing her development in S2 and onwards!

I have no idea how, but that actually went completely over my head until now!

It was undoubtably intentional; Sora unlocks her True Potential in response to her parents’ deadnaming her!

And also don't forget that her first set was called - Sora's TRANSforming mech bike racer.

Jay looks great overall, I expected for him to be like the other ninja with hair and half mask, but what we got is still really neat. With that we 100% know that there will be a new armor piece. The torso design feels similar to his Golden dragon form.

That also does confirm that he will work for the wolf clan, since you can see their logo thats a bit covered by the red j. his torso and legs have a lot of features from the Wolf Generals, like the light blue blades.

I just finished the Shadow Dojo, and I love it. Brilliant looking build, 3 really nice exclusives in Zane, Lloyd and Nya.

Just kinda wish they took out Kai as he's already in two other sets for either a hooded member of the Wolf Clan or if they insisted on 4 Ninja maybe Cole or Jay as the repeat.
