Well, I’m hyped. The Source Dragon looks absolutely incredible. The Temple City is gorgeous, though I’ll admit I don’t see at a glance how the Battle Arena is supposed to combine with it? Can’t wait for review shots. Also love that it looks like we get every figure in this wave except Pilot Cole by getting just the City and Battle Arena? Not that I intend to pass up the Source Dragon (assuming I can find somewhere to put all this. :P)

Zane’s Bike . . wow. Trash. Doesn’t even have an enemy to redeem it? Who decided that? I’m baffled. Easy skip for me, same for the Combo Vehicle. The rest are at the least maybes, depending on budget and display space. (Kinda surprised Jay doesn’t get a ‘purified’ Tournament suit?)

The dragon is superb.

The temple appears to be really thin though. Not nearly enough depth, which is such a shame. I hope future video reviews, and then seeing it in person change my mind.

Very nice that you get the full team from just the huge city and the arena. Glad it's not just 5 the ninja plus generic civilians as originally suggested. Fun little skybound reference with the tiger widow island set's balloon recreated.

The Source dragon is just gorgeous, and massive as it should. That might me the best set from the wave. But I really don't think I'd get it. I don't really know where I could put it, with it being too wide and long. That usually happens with dragons for me, like with the Ice dragon for example. The wings are on the big ratchet joints, so maybe you could have them to the back, so that might help a bit. The minifigure selection is fine, but feels small, especially when a $50 set has the same amount. I do love that Ras has arm printing again. I'm not a fan that Wyldfyre is reused from the previous wave, but that was expected.

With that The Source dragon of motion definitelly isn't Ras's master, Ras would have more respect for her and not be just connecting chains to her.

The Zane bike is just kinda there. The build is like super midiocer at best for me. The fact that you don't get a wolf warrior in it is quite lame, especially when the previous $10 set had 4 minifigures and not that much less parts. This set is an easy skip for me.

The temple city looks great, as giant ninjago location sets do, but I'm not like super into the design of it. The minifigure selection is great. It's nice to get both Ras and Jordana here and the return of Pale man is neat. I don't really think I'd get it because it won't really fit into my budget, and I like the other sets that I planned to buy this year more.

We also have more images of the previous sets. With that I like the Combo vehicle even more, and it is my favorite set of the wave, which I would have not expected from the Leaks of it. The life style picture of it just sitting there makes it look really neat, and with that it would also look neat on my shelf as well. It's also nice that you can connect the 2 bikes together, the bikes look great on their own, but it's always nice to have more functionality from it.

Now I think that I'd get the Cole mech. That is because of the pose that it's in at the back of the box, it just looks so majestic and I absolutely love it. Also it's 45 cm long with the wings, so it's like 35 without them. With that it is the tallest ninjago mech, and that is what makes me want it now.

Now what I'm not a fan in the wave is the villain distribiution. There are only 4 wolf mask warrior in the sets(5 with the polybag), There could have been one in the Zane bike and at least one more in the source dragon, then it would have been fine.

So overall that's a really great wave, with only one set being just kinda mid, while the rest are all great. When you also combain it with the prevoius waves this year, then that makes 2024 one of the better ninjago years. At least in my opinion.

Wow, the biggest two sets are absolutely incredible, some of the best we've ever seen for this theme.

The polybag is really cool. Great way to get two minifigures, and it looks like it connects with the Temple City and/or Battle Arena.

Zane's Motorcycle is rather mediocre tho. Should've included a Wolf Mask. Zane without a shoulder pad and an oversized vehicle is not a particularly good deal when you can get much better sets.

The Source Dragon... I simply have no words. This might be one of the most beautiful LEGO sets I've ever seen. The build is perfect, so well built. My only complaint is that for that price, it really should've included more minifigures — a Ninja and a Wolf Mask.

Tournament Temple City is also stunning. Not sure if it's a D2C after all, but I'm really glad that they decided to make a huge Ninjago set based on a current Season, that's not just an expansion of Ninjago City line. The dark blue, dark brown and tan color scheme works really well for the buildings. The rocky base is great, and I love the dragon that they've included, it's really unique. The minifigure selection is awesome.

Got an official description for the tournament temple set £220

New elementary link

They've also got a picture of it connected to the tournament arena set.

I've now realised her hairs is dark brown rather than Euphrasia's black but it's still weird how similar to her they made the blacksmith look.

Dragon looks like the most Warcraft-ish dragon LEGO has done, many similarities with Alexstrasza (Cataclysm expansion model, because of the pupilless eyes and chains) , dragon does look a bit thin in the mid section tho, but that's just a design choice, it's not trying to be a Warcraft dragon.

How would you rank the Titan Mechs we got thus far? For me it's:

1. Cole

2. Lloyd

3. Jay

4. Zane

1. Cole*

2. Zane

3. Lloyd

4. Jay

*Hard to compare before I build it, but the pictures are very promising.

The legs on the Zane mech have the best engineering of all Lego mechs from recent years (in my opinion). I would have liked the torso to be bigger, but that increases the weight and gives stability issues.

I think you can see the same thing on the Cole mech, the torso is tiny, but it gives a nice visual effect with the massive shoulders.

i would agree, tho i do prefer Nya's Samurai X Mech over Jay Titan Mech, perhaps drawn with Lloyds Titan Mech, it was confirmed that Nya's Samurai X mech is a titan mech by Niek (toothdominoes)

Yes I consider the Sam X mech a titan too, the only real difference is the lack of white in the color scheme.

Me (and my son) dislike floppy parts on mechs, so I've made a few changes on my version though.

I don't consider the Crystalized Nya mech as a Titan mech for three reasons:

1. It's not a Ninja mech, but a Samurai one.

2. It doesn't have the word Titan in its name.

3. It doesn't have white in its colour scheme.

Whatever anyone says, I think we're still bound to get an actual Nya Titan Mech at some point.

I think Samurai X is still a massive mech even tho. It’s not Titan Mech or ninja mech. I feel Nya’s Samurai mech is more unique from Titan mechs.

so we will see about Nya’s Titan Mech in future.

It's ultimately not the end of the world but one thing that does bother me a bit about the new wave is the lack of grunt villains? It's really weird, there's just no way to build up an army of them. Even if you buy every set you only get four total, and the cheapest set one comes in is $50. I guess you'll probably be able to buy them off PAB but idk it's still really strange. If they were going to do so few, I think it would have been more interesting if they'd just done one or two more named characters instead.

There will also be a polybag that will have one of the wolf warriors, so that could be a way to army build them, but then you'd also have an army of tournament Cole.

But I also have to say that it is a bit weak that there aren't too many wolf warriors in the sets. The January wave was really great for army building. There was a $10 set with 2, and they were even included in the gimmic sets, and nearly every set had at least 1.

I think that there should have been 1 in the Zane bike, and 1 more in the Source Dragon, since a $150 set shouldn't have the same amount of minifigures as a $50 and a $90 set.

Also there is a big chance that a wolf warrior could be included in a future magazine, so that would be great.

If anything I think the bike could have used two considering it's the same price as the Jay Mech from earlier this year. Even if it had two of them it'd still have one less minifigure and a worse build, but at least it'd feel more worth buying than it does currently. And agreed on the dragon as well, the minifigure selection there feels a little weak to me too—I like that there are less exclusive characters this wave but I also feel like because of that, the dragon doesn't offer much compared to the other sets.

The next magazine will include The Spirit of the temple.

That is a great minifigure, but why did they decide to comeback to s1 once again. Normally I'd be really excited for this minifigure but I think that this is just bad. He was fine as an exclusive to the temple, since he wasn't really a important character and he only gave out information, and I didn't really feel the need of having him in my collection. While the other climber suits are more needed and important then this. If they had to give a s1 minifigure then Wyldfyre would have been perfect, since she stayed the same in s2.

So if this was a few months back, then I'd be really pleased with it. But when they gave this right after they started giving us the climber suits, I'm not a fan of this inclusion one bit, and it isn't even because I already own this minifigure.

I'm actually quite pleased with the choice,it's nice when unique or exclusive figs become more available. I do have one ( from PaB not the set) but it is a cool figure with useful parts and the staff build is decent. I am hoping for climber Jay or Cole but I'd rather this to a climber I already have though they do all have cool armour that's nice to get spares of.

After seeing some early reviews I'm more of a fan of most of the set, except one. That one is the combo vehicle, which I was a big fan from the images, but after seeing it in hand I have to say that I'm not a fan of it. It feels really small when compared to the other Raiders. Overall the design of it doesn't look that great. It's still better then the legacy Raider, but that one is my least favorite set from all of ninjago, so everything.

But the Source dragon I'm really thinking about getting right now. the wings have so much articulation, that I could easly store it on a shelf, and it will still look great. Now I only need to know the hight of it. That new Ras looks so great in hand, that is really making me want to get it. The desing is great, the minifigure selection(while small) is great, that is just a perfect set.

The fact that you can detach the parts of the arena is neat. I won't get the big temple city, but the connections are the same hight as in the Ninja dojo temple, so I could play around with that I guess.

The function in the Zane bike feels great, but I'm not interested in small Lego bikes, and with only one minifigure I still won't get it.

The mech can be in so many different poses, but from what I saw some parts could detach from it while posing it, which isn't great at all, but that's like my only problem with it.

What I'm not a fan of in the sets, is the fact that the Wolf mask Warriors are reusing the heads from the previous waves. But they have their masks so you are not going to see them either way.

Also I'm not really a fan of the fact that the builds are sepereted into so many instructions. The dragon is really big, but for it to have 5 instructions feels a bit too much. The last instrustions from the Cole mech only use one bag, so that just feels odd. I prefer the instrustions to not be sepereted, because that makes it easier to store them.

Now I'm torn between either getting the Cole mech + The arena or the Source dragon, so I would need a bit more time for that.

One of the designers ( Chi Wing Lee) has been giving some interesting insights into his Ninjago sets on Instagram, most recently the source dragon.

Thanks for the heads up! Definitely some pretty interesting insights there, and I love the picture of the dragons stacked on each other.

The next ninjago legacy magazine includes that Arin from the 4+ mech and a Wolf Mask Guard.

This just doesn't feel worth it at all, since the legacy magazine costs 7.99 euro, while the Arins Rising Dragon only costs 2 more(it could even be cheaper if you find it on a discount), and that one also comes with an armor piece for Arin, and in my opinion the regular Wolf Mask Warriors are so much better then the guards.

So the only reason that I see for getting this, is if you are really interested in the magazine itself, as well as the tin can, because the minifigures are just not worth it.

Excited for the digital instructions of the new sets to drop tomorrow since sadly most of the Ninjago and Monkie Kid sets aren't available until August in my country.

Yeah, it’s quite a shame that we have to wait for 2 months as well as i have to wait for Dreamzzz. But I can’t wait to look at digital instruments too!
