Posted September 15, 20231 yr Hello, fellow train fans. New to the site, and I thought I'd share one of my best works. I typical prefer English styled engines, but I'd seen this one pass by my house when I was a kid. So I thought it appropriate to capture it in this lovely form It should be powdered blue, but Lego doesn't have the appropriate colour in the parts I needed and I think the grey is sharp(I totally didn't realize the colour was blue after I had already purchased the parts in grey)
September 15, 20231 yr Solid locomotive. Can't say the same for the track. Good work on the valve gear. NPU with the beanie cap on the steam cylinders. Lots of details all around.

September 16, 20231 yr So you built the locomotive as today, running on a tourist railroad? I'm pretty sure I've been over those tracks, grin. Seriously though, nice build, you captured a lot of details on the locomotive. I think the Lego bluish-gray is pretty close to the power blue so that works too. Great job

I have not captured an engine as well as I had this one
September 17, 20231 yr Beautiful steam locomotive! I like the detail of the pistons...I would like to see them in motion. The front is my favorite with an original system for attaching the lights and the front magnet.

She isn't motorized, but maybe someday I'll take a quick video of myself rolling her along to capture that motion. She can do turns though, which I am pleased with. The front may be, slightly illegal, but it came out better than I could have hoped
