Nothing has changed in there ever since — no announcements nor updates. I think it'd be reasonable to summarize the results of the CC contest in the same way it's done with the Main one at least, I mean, there was basically a calendar month to check out Critiques' feedbacks & finalize their ratings accordingly — I guess there should be something to report at the end of things, right? 21 minutes ago, durazno33 said: I agree, I thought maybe I had missed something on that board but no, it hasn't been updated for a month. Check again the governor updated the post Congratulations, @Mazin I enjoyed your competition Quote

By all means, go ahead and compile the report. 9 minutes ago, durazno33 said: Was it this page where the update is? That's all I had time for. I made probably 75%+ of my critics posts after that last update including a couple video reviews. I don't imagine it would have been enough to win but still. For me it is not a question of if I won, but instead would help me gauge if I want to participate in another such competition in the future. I would use the amount of effort I put in to help me gauge the amount of effort I would need to put into future such competitions to help me improve my efforts. But if the winner was selected with a statement like, "the leaderboard didn't change much after that point"? what confidence can one have in the integrity of the competition? Quote

Don't worry, sir — I absolutely will do it within the post-contest discussion, as I think (due to my observations) I have a proper understanding of why the Creative Critic contest was initiated in the first place Quote

Obviously the winner wasn't selected based on that statement - are being serious when you ask that? Or are you trolling? Come on! The winner was based on the overall performance of each critic as indicated in the chart and the accompanying notes. Compared to the top ranking critics your participation wasn't consistent throughout the contest and you had a large period of absence. I stopped checking in on the contest so much after that. I'll see what folks have been making now. You left, while others stayed. So that's not demonstrating the high level of dedication others contributed. 1 hour ago, durazno33 said: For me it is not a question of if I won, but instead would help me gauge if I want to participate in another such competition in the future. The biggest limiting factor is time - I just didn't get the opportunity to provide that feedback earlier as was the intention. When it's one person managing 95% of the contest in their spare time, sometimes things don't get done as thoroughly as one would like. But fear not! I've created a topic How can we make future contests BIGGER and BETTER and MORE EXCITING?? So maybe for next time we'll have more volunteers and greater capacity to improve this aspect of the contest. Quote

So that's not demonstrating the high level of dedication others contributed. You missed my point. I joined the critic competition because I wanted to try my hand at a new form of competition. Without feedback from the judges or explanation justifying the winner, I leave feeling like I wasted my time and am unlikely to participate in the future. I don't want that. I felt like this was a good contest. Without the details behind how the critics were ranked, all I have is your statement about my efforts before August 20th. There were many entries that were posted that last week for the first time and the last critic chart did not include them. If it is too much work to do a complete analysis AND report on it, I know that future critic contests probably won't happen and have my answer. Quote
dilligan Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Congrats to eveyone who entered, especially the 4 winners. All worthy choices. It was a fun and learning experience for me and only the 2nd MOC i've completed. Now I have to go out and actually buy Eldorado Fortress as my plan to win it didn't really play out as I'd hoped. Marooned Marin Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 A 21-gun salute to all involved in this contest and to our Governor who made it happen. Quote

I felt like this was a good contest. The point is this is the topic for congratulating the winners and you're taking it off topic. You make it sound like a winner was chosen at random, when in actuality, some feedback was given and even a graphical visualization was provided to indicate performance. But perhaps my previous post wasn't direct enough, so I'll be less eloquent; you ran like a coward at the first sign of trouble while other critics stayed for the long haul, regardless of the unpleasant situation. Of the 80 days the Creative Critic was open, you only posted on 4 of those days, whereas some critics were active for almost 2 months. So that lack of commitment and poor character was what eliminated you as a contender for the prize. And on top of that you're whining about wasting your time, despite demonstrating considerably less engagement than the highest performing critics. Does that elaboration provide sufficient feedback for future improvement? Or are you going to run away again? 19 hours ago, durazno33 said: If it is too much work to do a complete analysis AND report on it, I know that future critic contests probably won't happen and have my answer. I think @Stoertebricker 's Ironman is the perfect ship for this mission, no other vessel in our contest's fleet carries more guns ;) 24 minutes ago, Mister Phes said: Yes, assassinate the governor in 21 shots "i didn't sign for this!" ;) Well, i suppose we could simply use american Lego cannons then, i think they weren't capable of firing any projectiles anyway ;) Quote
Aanchir Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Whoa, so honored to have placed 3rd in this contest! I'm very glad that my entry was so well-received, especially within a field of so many other outstanding entries! The contest definitely inspired a LOT of people, even among landlubbers like me without a whole lot of experience building LEGO Pirates MOCs. Congrats to the 1st, 2nd, and mini set category winners as well! You all definitely earned it! Quote

Feuer Zug Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 This contest featured quite a number of great designs. Congrats to the winners. Quote

Just waiting for the right GWPs to get buy these. Quote
BrynnOfCastlegate Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Congratulations to the winners! I thought I might be one of the few Islanders entries, but we ended up with quite a few at the top. Quote
Eggyslav Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Of course Danny Boy won. OF COURSE HE DID. But I don't care anymore. I bought my own Eldorado Fortress, SO THERE. Quote

_R_R_ Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Belated congratulations to the winners, I knew @Danny_Boy4 would win with his fantastic build! Quote
Danny_Boy4 Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 I would like to thank everyone who voted for my entry. And I hope everyone who entered had fun building even if they didn't win. Honestly I didn't expect to win 1st place and I really only entered to have an excuse to build something new and different from my other MOCs. Quote
Mazin Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 I don't know about others, but just wanted to say my Eldorado gift has arrived yesterday. So thank You again for honoring me this way, thanx for all the fun time and possibilities this even created for me and for all the kind words :) Already jumped into the constructing phase, took me quite some time to build the vessel from Imperial Trading Post, then took an even longer while to finish first part of the Fortress itself :) So yeah, hopefully i will be done with the whole thing before Christmas ;) Quote
