I've had this idea for a few years, finally started on this project, but I need some help with it.

Basically, I want to create a chart with as many colors represented as I can, preferably in 1x1 form (studs, plates, tiles, cheese slopes, etc, whatever's available).

So, after making a chart on Stud.io, I need help figuring out which of these... actually exist. Bricklink can help, but annoyingly, they don't have a way to sort parts by color in the main search, only inside a store.

Here's the chart I have, though I did leave out the rubber elements since I figured those likely wouldn't be applicable here.

I have 20 or 30 or so colors so far, but mostly the basic ones that most people have (red, green, blue, grey, white, etc).

There is this sold already made: https://wlwyb.com/shop/periodic-table-of-lego-colors/ but not using only one part type. I have the first version, that third version has more colors.

Otherwise I think one of the part existing in the highest number of colors for making a color chart is the 1x2 brick (sometimes with two 1x1, or a 1x2 plate), which is what I did too, I'm only missing two or three of the existing colors for these. But of course some colors just don't exist in this kind of brick or plate, so the chart will never really be complete.

I do know about that one, yea. The issue is that it really isn't ALL the colors. It's missing a lot, you can really see the lack of blues especially.

It's a decent start, I guess, but it is lacking for my wants.

Unlikely that you'll be able to pull it off. To my knowledge e.g. the Scala/ Belville Pink isn't in a single 1 x 1 element, only 1 x 2 plates and a few others. I'm pretty sure that would apply to most other colors as well. You'll be lucky to even get any element in a given color if only it is rare enough. After all, some colors have been used in one or two sets only way back when...

oh yea, I don't expect to get EVERY color in a 1x1 shape, but I want as many as I can fit in a relatively small area, at least.

I use 1x2 plates and 1x2 tiles for each colour where possible. That gives a reasonably large surface area while still being quite small and also has studded and flat surfaces.
