RedgeRepublic Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 (edited) This is my first post here. I was thinking about restarting a project and checked this forum and it seems I had an account made here already in 2015, but never posted anything. I'm more a lonely analog builder :) Time to change that. I built this ship years ago and sitting behind glass ever since. I built it without any Lego building software, just from pictures and some videos. So I have no clue about how many bricks went into this. I started in 2014 with some pauses and waiting purchasing the needed bricks, and finished it in 2016. It is a Pelta Class Frigate, an Old Republic style ship design with my own interpretation. That means I wasn't really on details to make it exactly alike and added things that I found cool to have on it, like the radar dish and dual laserguns, which are not found on any sketches of the original Pelta class frigate design. I made the purpose more a military cargo ship which is loaded with ammo and guns. The front part of the roof can be removed and inside in the middle the guns are on racks which can be (un)loaded easily. It is fully playable, you can pick it up with a hinge in the middle and balancing perfectly horizontal. The wings in the back can move. Also enough cabins to put minifigures in. The landing gears is retractable and there is a hatch under the ship (no picture). I'm really proud how the (huge) engine came out. I hope you like what you see! Feuer Zug Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Good looking ship. The lines and color scheme fit the Old Republic well. Interesting method for making the command deck up front. The internals and playability is a nice bonus feature. Quote
MKJoshA Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Great job getting all those angles to match up. The ship looks really good! Quote
RedgeRepublic Posted October 10, 2023 Author Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) Thanks for the comments! The angles and balancing the weight of the ship was a done by just trail and error. Inspiration of building techniques came also out sets like 7964 Republic Frigate and 10198 Tantive IV. I also loved and owned the 7964 and lot of parts went into this ship.
