Jim had a bunch of extra orange and white parts laying around and started a brinklink store… probably not related…

I kid I kid

True. Wasn't sure about it either. There is ample time toget a few extra orange or white panels (budget permitting of course). But indeed, not sure how this will pan out.

This I think is a very good feature for this contest, as it makes contesting models more comparable.

Many orange models have been published in recent years, so I think there are enough pieces in this colour floating around.

Lol, you got me. I need the money for my holiday

I seriously do have a sh.tload of white panels in all sorts and sizes. Purchased them for my never-to-be-finished-robot-project

I figured white and orange are common enough to go for it.

I do not like 3rd party elements and I do not have white or orange parts but I will do it my best, I think this contest is about the best idea, maybe an artic wheel loader  .

Yep. I will be in this time.

If I had to sélect 3 noticeable sets I own for all time, this subteam is ranked #2

So let's think what to build now.

I read the number of motors discussion on this thread.  May I remember you all that these famous sets where given without any motor and where based on a manual play experience?

So a big thanks @Jim for this contest theme.

Let's build now.

Obviously, my initial thougts were to omit electronics again. I totally agree with you that these models don't need electronics.

But hey, it's the big end of the year contest, so I had to throw a bone this time. Can't be the "no electronics dictator every contest"

I hope it works out and we have some fun.

Slightly off topic, but the Admin will be on a holiday anyway. What's #1?

I like the blind voting 👍 will we get to see the voting list when finished?

I think I’ve come up with an idea that fits the contest but probably won’t get me any points…

I’m torn between 2 ideas at the moment both very different. One quite conventional and one a lot more complex. Might have to start playing with both ideas to see where they take me. I don’t think either will be a podium model but I build for the challenge and something I’m pleased with

I've got some ideas for aviation-based models that would be fun to try out (I'm studying Aviation at college now, and am itching to build the stuff I'm learning about). Unfortunately, I have very little orange, and only a moderate amount of white, so I might have to build something smaller and less ambitious than I'd prefer.

One question:

The original Line-up is based on the technic fig scale.

I do not see any scale restriction/ obligation in the rules.

Is there any mandatory scale for this one?

I'll aim for this scale and order a Technic arctic figure.

Now the question for me is: tractor tires or tracks?

That’s the great thing about the contests 👍

Do aircrafts qualify?

The arctic subtheme has aircrafts too.

I don’t see why not. As you say the City line has lots of aircraft

Just wanna clarify the scope of the word "vehicle"

Not trying to be obvious about it but…

Aircraft:

noun
  1. 1.
a thing used for transporting people or goods

I just wonder how different one can make an arctic aircraft relative to a normal aircraft for the sake of the contest?? 🧐

  1.

I would say ships and submarines, helicopters etc also fit in the vehicle definition, you just have to make them themed like those arctic expedition vehicles.

The same would go if you want to make an offroad expedition truck - it just needs to fit the arctic theme here with colors and additional features.

I couldn’t see a rule about Stickers? Are custom stickers allowed? Or creating your own versions of Lego stickers/logos

Sure. Go nuts this time.

Are there bonus points if you apply a sticker to every single part in the model?

You need something to cover all you LBG parts! 😂
