I think the worst designed set is the Sith infiltrator the new one... the landing gear always falls if you put weight on it and and if you hold the front and the front the cockpit falls off.... but I had to work out those minor imperfections for the first time... with a lego set.

I would say the original Slave 1, it's kinda cool looking, but too blocky (even for Lego) and waaaay too tiny to be liek the actual thing. The newer version (which I am happy I own) is better.

Also Jabba's Palace is not movie accurate at all but has lots of good pieces.

I think this is the ultimate lightsaber duel.

The base really don't look like the mustafar base, anakin and obi wan are light-up minifigures and there are some staff to move them from distance like in the ancient soccer sets.

This is also not very movie accurate but the pieces look interesting. Except the LUL figs.

:skull:

Are you talking about the new or old Sith Infiltrator? The worst designed set for me was the original (7151 I think) Sith Infiltrator, it kept coming apart in big sections or the stand pieces would fall off. I wasn't that concerned by the blocky look but the falling apart annoyed me so much I sold it as I like to swoosh my ships around rather than just sit them on a shelf.

The Wookiee catamaran was a pain as well with the side pieces falling off continually but the clone troopers hovercraft thing in it was awesome.

I think the new, although I have never seen the old one in person.

I only have one Star Wars set, the Imperial Dropship, and I think the design is quite moronic. The whole idea of the vessel is just absurd: how can you travel in a platform that has no railings or walls without falling off? And doesn't the vessel need to land anyway to "drop" the platform? And wouldn't it have some serious balance issues if it was real?

Plus the minifigs with their black heads are quite cheap as well, in my opinion. Of course, it is a relatively inexpensive set, anyway... But it feels like an afterthought, really.

(PS. I didn't buy it myself, it was a gift from my sweet boyfriend, who's a bit clueless when it comes to LEGO.)

I have to disagree with you there, Sandy. Its just a fast transport to get troopers into battle faster. If it were a real vehicle in SW, then I'm sure it would have handholds so the troopers don't fall off, just like the RGS. As for balance, it would be fine going in a straight lie, but with sharp turns, maybe the platform would fall off. But use your imagination, it could have some sort of advanced mechanical system so it doesnt fall off, or something similar.

BTW in the Yoda Dooku duel, did anyone ever find out what that little jumble of technic peices was for?

It was a crane that was supposed be in the movie, but they took it out at last minute and replaced it with that tower that Dooku tries to drop on Ani and Obi. TLG never changed it, though.

Worst designed set has to be Rogue Shadow. I dont even have this set but i know this because my freind has it.

Reasons:

1. It falls apart all the time.

2. the Hull is practically empty and can be seen through from the bottom.

3. the cockpit only holds one minifig. (unless you MOD it)

Also any sets that come with LUL characters. I mean they completly ruined Luminara with it

The cockpit is a bit weak, but the rest is incredible, and most will agree with this. It is one of the BEST sets made, no where near the worst.

Do you expect us to memorize all the set numbers? Which set is it?

dp

just google the set number if you don't know the set numbers. 90% of the time its the first result and it only takes a few seconds.

To answer your question, its the orginal (1999) Sith Infiltrator

brickset/ lugnet/ brickshelf/ peeron are also our friends. :classic:

My vote goes to Echo Base. I collect SW since 1999 but this one is simply horrible, especially the yellow pieces.

The entire first wave of Star Wars was a disgrace - amaeturish junk, the kind of stuff you find on brickshelf - not what you'd expect from a professional builder

The worst of all - the original MTT, it looks exactly like a small child built it. Maybe Lego designed them in a rush - but never before, or after, has Lego looked so crap

6211 Imperial star destroyer

I had to reinforce the floor to stop bits of it falling off, parts of vaders meditation chamber and the hangar bay side bits (white bits next to droid and GMT http://cache.lego.com/images/shop/prod/6211-0000-xx-33-1.jpg )and the thing that holds vaders helmet never worked.

Same with me, making it my least favorite set. I just got tired of if a little while ago(weeks) when I got my Rogue Shadow. I replayed the scene from the trailers where Starkiller borught down the Star Destoyer with the force, mine however, was more destructive  Those of you say the first wave of sets was crappy should be less harsh. None of the sets from 99 were that great, LEGO has evolved greatly since then however. Its only a matter of time 'til everythings SNOT.

My worst design sets are all the slave 1's they're all completely out of scale. Note to PSPguy I had to build my Jango Fett slave 1 on a table when I tried it on the floor it kept breaking too.

Easily the original MTT - which is really crap to the highest level you can get in Starwars. Even in that year the set was horrible - the color scheme was whacked, the design was weak, and it had too few figures. I'm glad that TLC made the awesome remake in 2007, because the original is just

All the technic sets - well we all knew it this line was a waste of time from the beginning, its almost impssible to make anything From TECHNIC to resemble any person/robot, hey, they tried - i'll give 'em that - but sorry, the sets never looked any good or anything like what they're sopposed to look like.

I couldn't disagree more - I thought that all the sets they released in that line were very well designed, and resembled the characters really well. Okay, the Stormtrooper may have been a bit weak, but all the rest were cool (especially some of the droids and Darth Vader). I especially loved that a lot of them had action features and instructions to rebuild them into classic starwars vehicles.

I thought the V-wing was actually quite good for accuracy just a little small and not wide enough. Alos another set that I dont like is the Rogue Shadow and Twilight. They are both

Argh! So many LUL haters. Am I the only LUL Lover?

Revising my choice... hmm... Final Duel 1 and 2. So boring despite having the emperor and an Imperial Officer.

I absolutely must disagree with you. 7140 and 7130 are among my favorite sets. When I first heard that LEGO was going to make SW sets, I looked forward to the X-Wing. It is a balance - undeniably LEGO, and undeniably SW.

I think one of the worst designed sets is the Droid Escape. Other than throwing the droids into the pod and rattling it around, there isn't much you can do with this set besides display it.

I think, that The worst designed set is 6205 - V-Wing Starfighter.

I like Lego V-Wing, but it doesn't looks like original!

Here is Original:

<snip>

And Lego Version:

<snip>

Difference:

-Bad Cockpit (I'll use this - http://media.peeron.com/ldraw/images/39/3x/30384.png)

-Ugly wings

-Bad Colour (Original is Dirty White!)

- Bad Shape!!!

DUDE! :cry_sad:

Just LOOKING at that picture tells me that it looks EXACTLY like the other one. I have NO clue how you can say it's different.

Definatly

7111 Droid FIghter

http://brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=7111-1

AND DONT DIS THE V-WING ITS AWESOME!!!!!! :hmpf_bad:

Wow. Just... Wow. I hardly believe what I'm seeing. 9 years ago they made it. For nine years ago it's pretty a sweet design and really echoes the actual set! I can't imagine how that could be a bad design. Although it IS kinda blocky. Wait, I'd better stop before I turn myself...

I'll restrict myself to sets I actually own, so JF's Slave I and Ultimate Lightsaber Duel are safe.

I have never been too fond of 7101 - Lightsaber Duel (the one with Darth Maul and Qui-gon). Just bleh, all the way around.

7115 - Gungan Patrol was pretty poor as well.

But the worst overall has to be 7127 - Imperial AT-ST. Not only was it completely out of scale, and far too blocky, but the minifig it comes with is - Chewbacca? Did I miss something in the title, Imperial AT-ST? What the ...

At any rate, 7127 gets my vote for worst designed.
