That fuzzy character in the 4+ set is giving me hibbyjibbies but dang if I don't want the new hairpiece on the other one. I'm a little disappointed in the battle pack to be honest. That Super Battle droid was never a good mould, and to see it back after such a long hiatus completely unchanged is sad. Star Wars really seems like it tries to do the bare minimum in some cases, and then over-deliver with new moulds in stuff like 4+ sets. It's great to get all the shinies and the Shock on the Clone side though, and in general great to have a way to mass generic CIS at the same time, so I do think it's a good set, but I'm still personally a wee bit disappointed. Actually it has been changed, you can see the body mould is new. Slightly thinner and new details on the body. I think it looks a lot better. im intrigued to know if it’s open at the back like before or potentially sealed closed. Quote

I can’t believe how many people have not noticed this! Overall, the battle pack is great. Not perfect, but really good. The Octuptarra droid is really great. Would have loved a CIS sticker/print on the STAP. The Republic vehicles are lacklustre, but they do pay homage to 2007 and I’m sure someone will create a really great vehicle with the parts. The riot shields are neat. Really am surprised we don’t get accessories! Now, I’ll wait for the price. (£) 9/10 so far. Edited December 2, 2023 by ArrowBricks Quote

Ok, you're right, I didn't notice. I guess my bigger gripe is that they are functionally the same and a little bit of cosmetic difference on the body hasn't helped the main issue of how unplayable and unposeable they are. That arm does nothing to convey their arm rockets in my opinion, and the B2's whole thing is turn its hand. I'd take a bulkier 2-piece arm with a joint in the middle to at least add some poseability. They've also always felt way too tall to me, even if B2s are a bit tall. Quote
Grabdatgem Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) I never saw anyone speak about this but back on the 17th of November. TandNbricks posted a photo of a bunch of old minifigures and said “A highly requested character in this photo is back in 2024.” The majority of the characters were clones, stormtroopers etc. But a few named characters I can see is Dooku, Mon Mothma and Asajj Ventress Edited December 2, 2023 by Grabdatgem Quote

Legofan2001 Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Wait a minute @Falconfan1414 is the figure Carson Teva? Heck Trapper Wolf fits even more. Edited December 2, 2023 by Legofan2001 Quote
CF Mitch Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 The battlepack looks fine overall, to me, but I'm skipping it anyway, since I'm only interested in the Shock/Coruscant Trooper. Hopefully it'll be cheaper on BL when it arrives in the battlepack. Incidentally, it is the same as the one from the Republic Gunship, right? Regards, Mitch Quote

Is it supposed to be depicting the battle of coruscant? I think it's loosely based on TCW S7, the depicted battle reminds me of Ep 09, while the white clones and the colour of the sky on the back of the box remind me of the base in Ep 01, which is the only scene featuring white clones in S7, if I remember correctly. A lot of army builders probably would have spent $30 on this set for the clones OR the droids, but 9 total characters (with x3 each of the new B2s and new plain P2s) and some useful vehicle parts to boot... it's just phenomenal for 2024. Another way to consider it is that it's going to be 4 years since the original 501st set, which if released today would be over $35 after inflation. So the new battle pack basically manages to be cheaper (admittedly by sizing down the builds) AND include 3 new super battle droids. Love it! Quote

So the new battle pack basically manages to be cheaper (admittedly by sizing down the builds) AND include 3 new super battle droids. Love it! Honestly I feel like this is just objectively significantly better value than the 501st pack. First off, like you say, it'd be $35 today. Now it is 70 more pieces, but if you look at more of a price-to-volume-of-stuff ratio, it feels like you get more in the 2024 set anyway! The octuptarra droid looks like it'll be comparable to the AT-RT (The AT-RT might be denser, but the octuptarra's got a wider footprint). Obviously the included speeder is smaller than the BARC, but I feel like the BARC would even out to roughly the speeder and bunker (Actually, I'm fairly confident I made a more size-accurate BARC when that set first came out and I used the leftover parts to make a turret of some sort, which is funny). As for the figures, they're about the same (3 of one clone, 1 variant clone, and 2 B1s), but you're adding on the 3 B2s. So basically, you're getting three extra droids and a STAP for what'd be $5 LESS in today's money. (And actually, $30 in 2020 would be around $35.66 today just off US inflation, not even putting lego's own increases into account... man, it's... it's not goin great here. Anyway. Point made. This set is really good value.) Quote

Not sure what would be controversial, though. To be fair, the question about what car he would drive was kind of a random question for falcon to answer, so it might not have been a "correct" answer, since he had to answer that on the spot. I'd say we focus more on the objective clues rather than subjective, since objective stuff I'm feeling is just throwing us off And yeah Boshek I had to search him up but instantly remembered him as the guy sitting at the Cantina! Not sure if people would recognize his name at all though, but his image is recognizable for sure Edited December 3, 2023 by Minishark2000 Quote

Not sure what would be controversial, though. That's another wiggle room one, given that while he's technically force sensitives, he wasn't really swinging around a saber or choking people from across the room. I feel like "probably could beat jango" means it has to be a pretty skilled jedi, sith, or bounty hunter. I'll throw one out, not bothering whatsoever to check the criteria list: Meetra Surik/The Exile from KOTOR 2. Controversial due to not having a set appearance with any defined look, and for those same reasons could easily be wearing white. A human and powerful force user, Old Republic planets (Specifically the sith academy where most of KOTOR 2 takes place) would narrow it down significantly, and IIRC she's referred to as "the Outcast" somewhat commonly, so there's your O. If we use copium for the O part, the fig could also be Revan (Jedi Robes)/Revan (Prodigal Knight), since the jedi incarnation of Revan has not yet been made. Kinda off topic of your guess but since we're talking about ep4 during the stream someone guessed the original Jabba, i.e. the original human version that was cut, played by Declan Mulholland. That would actually have been a really cool character to have. Edited December 3, 2023 by Minishark2000 Quote
