But at the same time, it's not like he's researching these, I feel like most people's gut reaction would be that the pilot in two seconds of episode 4 could not beat Jango.

I honestly don't think we're gonna figure this one out.

Did falconfan say what set this character comes in? Not that it'll help identify it, but I didn't even think we had any sets without concrete descriptions left in 1hy.

No, he didn't say what set unfortunately :(

Everything else fits, but... would it? There are a gazillion cantina patrons on tatooine.

That's another wiggle room one, given that while he's technically force sensitives, he wasn't really swinging around a saber or choking people from across the room. I feel like "probably could beat jango" means it has to be a pretty skilled jedi, sith, or bounty hunter.

I'll throw one out, not bothering whatsoever to check the criteria list: Meetra Surik/The Exile from KOTOR 2. Controversial due to not having a set appearance with any defined look, and for those same reasons could easily be wearing white. A human and powerful force user, Old Republic planets (Specifically the sith academy where most of KOTOR 2 takes place) would narrow it down significantly, and IIRC she's referred to as "the Outcast" somewhat commonly, so there's your O.

If we use copium for the O part, the fig could also be Revan (Jedi Robes)/Revan (Prodigal Knight), since the jedi incarnation of Revan has not yet been made.

Wait, you've answered your own question! He would be controversial because he's a pretty plain figure to include as an anniversary fig.

He said he’s “Controversial” in the community at large which doesn’t on paper fit BoShek BUT

It was “controversial” to figure out who played BoShek in the Star Wars community and it took nearly 40 years for the Actor to be confirmed!

I really like the new battle pack. But do the shiny clones look like their faces are squished to anyone else? I'm hoping it's just the angles used for the box images.

Guys, do we know if we're only getting one diorama next year (Pod Race) because if so I'll be disappointed since I really like them.

A Duel Of The Fates diorama would be so cool but I have the set from 2017 so I don't really need it.

Just saw in-hand pics of the BP on Instagram, though now can't find the account again. It had tagged Bantha Bricks but isn't on their account, I suppose because they're a Facebook community?

Anyway, the B2 still has pretty much the same back, so while the cosmetic detail on the torso piece is now a bit sharper, functionally it's still very much the same as the old B2s.

The clone helmets also do look oddly square, like all ones with the helmet holes. Curious LEGO couldn't be bothered throwing in like a standard black or grey accessory pack for people to customise their clones.

bravo, Lego

Look, it'd have been nice for them to add them, but this is a super minor thing. None of these clones are meant to have visors or rangefinders, so it's not like this makes them inaccurate. It would have been a nice little addition, but I don't think there's any real reason to be annoyed by it. It'd be like complaining about every set with Mando that doesn't have a rangefinder pack.

You're probably right about the shiny clones' faces just being the angle in photos.

I hope we get more than one diorama too. A Duel of the Fates one would be amazing. I don't know why Lego didn't include accessory packs for the clone helmet holes either - seems like an odd oversight.

Lego Empire and HellothereRex on youtube already have in-hand reviews of the battle pack. That was fast!

Thanks for the heads up on those YouTube reviews already being up, I'll have to check them out. Always fun to see sets early.

To be fair, the BF2 Officer and Specialist have the normal P2 Shiny designs with a rangefinder and macrobinoculars added respectively (the Heavy has some extra detailing on the helmet), so LEGO could have made those.

Yeah as much as people are saying the clones don't always have them, if they're putting that pack of 15ish attachments in the boba fett mech set I'm sure they can throw one into this battle back too

Plus there's nothing "accurate" about the battle pack - it's based on LEGO's own made up speeder design and includes Clones that would never be seen fighting together against an Octopurra droid, so having an accessory pack to accessorise the clones would be extra fun for kids.

I don't care for myself as I've got plenty of those extra accessories, but it would have made good sense to include to heighten the product.

Would've been great if they included them in a colour other than dark bley. We haven't had black accessories since 2011. Maybe they could've put a binocular visor in one of the crates too.

This is a lego battlepack, since when are we concerned with accuracy? Hello, 501st swamp speeder? When did we see 332nd troopers outside of Vaughn with helmet attachments? If helmet accessories go inside the helmet hole, why not give the consumer more bang for their buck?

Lego can't just include a single part from the pack- IIRC it's one molded batch like the ninjago weapon packs or superheroes power/web packs. So the choice was put the pack (of 8, by the way. Not a huge change but still) in the mech, or not give boba his rangefinder, and given how we're apparently gonna start complaining about them not being in sets where none of the figures need them, could you IMAGINE what people would have said if it wasn't in the boba mech.

Yes, they hypothetically could have, but my point is they weren't by any means necessary, and them not being included isn't really a mark against the pack.

I never said that this made it more accurate, just that it's not inaccurate for them not to have it. Not to mention, Vaughn's men don't have attachments in the set images, the pack is there because Vaughn needed it.

But in general, what would you have wanted them to do? The current part pack doesn't exist in red or black. Would you have preferred they recolor it, and we lose the plain P2 helmet print or get a higher price on the set? It's not like this set is bad value by any means- the 501st set from 2020 would be over $35 today from inflation- so I don't get why we're complaining that it needs extra stuff when it's one of the few reasonably priced sets they're putting out in this theme.

Unless I missed something in the vid, FF said that the character would potentially beat Jango, and would probably beat Bail Organa.

I also want to throw this out there- assuming this is right, it re-opens a lot of options. Most SW characters can probably beat a human politician in combat, and "potentially" beat jango has a lot more wiggle room (Is there a vehicle they can pilot? Could they just get a lucky shot in? Are they friends with a beast that can trample it? Are they Wilrow Hood, who's ability to push past main characters in hallways implies he'd be able to bodyslam jango to the ground and knock him out by whacking him with the ice cream maker?)

All the more proof that’s it’s BoShek. He’s a force user but not a skilled force user either. Therefore he would have a chance to beat Jango but would definitely beat Bail.

Update Max Bautde is denying it’s BoShek. I’m literally out of guesses at this point like we’ve named every character that matches the hints and all have been denied.

Heads up - LEGO Empire is just using Bantha Toy's images, they don't actually have the set personally. Only HelloThereRex has the set himself in hand for a Youtube review.

I do think it would have been nice to have the accessory pack, but it's still a good set without.

Now where is the $30 OT battle pack with 4 stormtroopers?

At this POINT if NONE of the following figures is the third anniversary figure

Breha,Willrow Hood,Corde,Dorme,Kino Loy,Dedra,Maraava Andor,Rush Clovis,Mastercode Breaker,Young Leia,Trapper Wolf,Carson Teva,George Lucas,Elan sleazebaggo

(assuming all the hints from @Falconfan1414 are ACTUALLY true)

then it must be some super crappy figure because I literally can’t think of anyone else it could be.

Yeah, I noticed after I posted here that Empire was just baiting 😭 with that video title

Might have been guessed already but what about Tera Sinube, the Jedi with a white lightsaber from Clone Wars. His dead body was in Kenobi so he’d count as live action

Another option is a High Republic jedi, who often wear white robes and are often peaceful. Vernestroh Rwoh is going to appear in the live action Acolyte series - she’s probably controversial with Star Wars fans considering she’s A) female and B) a plucky teenage character

Edit: neither are human characters

Not a human nor contains an O in name.
