Wow just now seeing that the book is $150... what the heck

And it specifically can't be used for the GWPs. Absolute madness.

I'm quite happy to wait a few months for it to inevitably be discounted at some other retailer (I will actually cry if it ends up being an exclusive though).

Bruh. I bet that it was replaced by the 501st battlepack. Damn you Mandr!!!!

I would imagine maybe we get a UCS slave 1 in 2026 at the earliest.  Hopefully we get our boy Bly at some point but I would rather get some standard imperial army builders before any more clones. I actually don’t see Lego changing anything from the previous design of Kashyyyk Scout troopers (except for maybe swapping the helmet for the imperial one) as since they don’t have conventional clone armour and therefore they are pretty much immune (IMO) from the 2020 clone revamp.

Oh, on another note thanks to the Poster GWP being revealed, Flesh-tone Jedi Bob has leaked. And what’s even more interesting is that there was a Nien Nunb on the poster. With every single other figure but those two having been one that was previously made.

Could Nien Nunb be in the young Leia set?!

I meant the P2 Kashyyyk Troopers and Commander Gree because they need the visor updated in 2020 style because the 2014 ones are live action.

Looks like the Nien Nunb figure on the 25th Anniversary poster isn’t just the artist taking some creative license!

Brick Fanatics article

Huge news, I think he's the biggest missing figure from the OT.

It has to be the X-wing and TIE fighter set, right? Leakers didn't have the figures confirmed yet, it fits the era, and I can't see where else they'd place him.

My thoughts exactly. It’s the most boring-sounding set out of the summer lineup so putting Nien in there would certainly make it sell better.

Assuming he's coming in 2024, I'd guess that has to be it, unless either the anniversary set has some missing info or there's some retailer exclusive that's missing (though I feel like the sets he's most logical to appear in would be some versions of Rebel ships, which would seem unlikely to be retailer exclusives in my opinion).

However, as many have said, we're very due for an OT Falcon re-release, so like the article says, it could be a 2025 figure in a set like that, which would make a lot of sense to me.

I think this basically wraps up almost OT character as minifigures!  Now that we're getting him and we got Aunt Beru, the only missing ones are pretty much Imperial officers, Rebel pilots, and background aliens from the Cantina/Jabba's Palace.  There are some updated RoTJ characters that would be nice (namely Mon Mothma), but I can't really think of a named, recognizable character that is still missing.

Nien Numb would be brilliant - although I won't believe it until I finally see it!

I have still fond memories of my original Kenner figure from 1983/4; it was available as free 'mailer' promotion which you could claim with a purchase of 5/6 others.  It took absolutely ages to arrive but it was well worth the wait!  I'm not sure why he hasn't been included in a set previously as there's been plenty of oppportunities - especially considering that he does have a reasonable amount of screen-time in ROTJ.

My local toy store has the new 1st May sets in stock; I'm quite impressed by the Mos Espa Podrace but I think I'll wait until it gets a 20-30% discount.  It's a shame that LEGO didn't include Watto, Sebulba and maybe a pit droid or two - it looks a bit sparse for the RRP.

Yes that’s the most logical choice. It’s either that or the Young Leia set.

Not a specific character, but Lego hasn’t made any imperial space-troopers either despite them having screen time in ANH. Here’s hoping they include one in the upcoming Death Star playset as well as a couple of stormtroopers.

Wow, I've honestly never realized that was a thing, and I've even noticed the Stormtroopers before in that scene with the tractor beam.  That's pretty cool!  I think it's somewhat unlikely, but you never know, we've gotten some pretty random variants of characters before.

Don't forget "Prune Face" Orrimaarko! When the face is a prune, then action goes boom!

Not that there are any rumours of it happening but if Lego do a set on the upcoming Outlaws game before we get a mantis or a proper fallen order set I’ll be very very annoyed,

i can’t believe the price of that book coming out. It’s actually mad how much that is.

i don’t know if anyone’s mentioned I’ve watched someone build the new droideka on TikTok and it actually rolls looks kind of cool. But it’s really small for the price of it, but then again so are the helmets you’d think they would be bigger than what they are

Relax, It’s more than likely all Star Wars games are going to get equal treatment from Lego. As in not getting any Play-sets whatsoever. We may get Kay Vess, the game’s protagonist, as a 30th anniversary figure just like we’re getting Cal as an anniversary figure this year.

It'd be a good way to sell the set to collectors, but I doubt it'll have trouble selling with kids, "boring" or not. It's two of the three most iconic vehicles in the franchise.

I dunno. We just got the midi-scale falcon, and the Evil Falcon is this summer. As much as I wish we'd get a standard system OT millenium falcon, I think the wait's going to be a little longer.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up for the Young Leia set being anything other than a buildable LOLA. (Which feels like it would be crazy, seeing how badly that thing sells. I cackle every time I walk into walmart and see it clogging the clearance shelf, or run into them shelfwarming at discount retailers like Ollie's. It's been almost two years and they still can't get rid of them.)

I can't believe I never knew about the ANH spacetroopers before. I even have a reference book about the evolution of the stormtrooper and it's variants, how they made the suits at ILM, all that, and I don't think it ever mentioned them.

I wonder if lego will release another episode I set next year, 2023 they released some episode VI anniversary sets, and this year they released UCS tie interceptor set and also the leaked sets UCS Jabba's sail barge and the desert skiff, which they were obvious to be related as episode VI anniversary sets

It's been shown many times that anniversary years don't mean all that much. In theory, Lego could release anything they want, anytime they want to.

A potential Nien Nunb would be great, and putting him in the rumoured X-Wing/TIE crossover set would be the most logical choice, but so far we've got Malak with R2, Saw in a TPM set and Fives in the Tantive, so... :shrug_oh_well:

I mean yeah, but those are all anniversary figs. We know what all six anniversary figs are, and Nien isn't one of them. Therefore he should be coming in a thematically appropriate set.

“Not a specific character, but Lego hasn’t made any imperial space-troopers either despite them having screen time in ANH.”

Even when Hasbro did him 2 decades ago we were all like “Who?”. Yes, would be super cool to have him, but also super obscure. I doubt there’s more than a few fans that even know they are there.

Being a convert from Hasbro to lego, I often wonder how many of the original line figures lego has yet to produce.  Anyone here happen to know?

If you're talking Kenner, just glancing quickly at the list of original figures from the OT:

We've had Death Star Troopers but not a specific DS commander, we've had Death Star droids before but not in silver, Snaggletooth is missing still, everyone is there from ESB, and from RoTJ we're missing 8D8, Klaatu, Prune Face, Tessek, Droopy McCool, and Sy Snootles.  Nien Numb is technically missing still, but it appears that we're getting him sooner rather than later.

So not really much!

here is a really good article with a pretty exhaustive list of missing original trilogy minifigs. There are still plenty of missing characters and variants.

About time we're getting a Nien Nunb minifigure! I'm surprised they never included him in any of the Resistance sets from the Sequel Trilogy. Still better late than never. The X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter set seems like the most logical spot to include him in.
